When confronted with this comment, remember that neither science nor logic support the idea that sex is assigned at birth and here are three reasons why:

1. A person’s sex is acknowledged, not assigned.
2. Sex is determined by our reproductive system.
3. Disorders of sexual development do not create new categories of sex.

Sex is one thing, gender is another. What is more, even sex is not as clear cut as fundies like to think, with a lot of conditions putting the rigid delineation into question.

I’d say two things: 1) You’re talking about gender, not sex…and 2) OK, fine by me.

Incorrect.
When i was in High School, in the late 70s, a girl two or three towns over, about my age, was in a traffic accident. During the surgery, they found that he had testicles, they’d just never dropped. Stayed up inside his torso for some reason. And he had a realy tiny penis.
The surgeons just went ahead and ‘fixed’ him while they were in there. He woke up from surgery and everything was different.
At his birth, the doc had not seen a dick, or a scrotum, so ‘assigned’ the sex he thought was appropriate. Turned out to be wrong.

Gender Identity, however, is determined about about 30 different traits in the body. They don’t always have a unified opinion. This is scientifically known since about 1950.

Well I would say “That’s a misdirecting misuse of terminology and an extreme oversimplification that sounds suspiciously like it’s meant to be framed dismissively but it’s not exactly wrong. I mean Jesus Christ with all the mixed messages trying to re-establish gender norms in aggressive and ironclad terms that are almost certainly meant to create divisions in the population and an excuse to forcibly subjugate others it seems like the individual themselves are the only ones not allowed to decide who and what they are because everyone else says they’re too masculine or feminine to be a woman or a man based on things as stupid as their appearance, hobbies, dress, or even attitude.”

But then again you clearly framed that to be dismissive of it and create excuses to subjugate others who do not conform to your expectations.

I think there’s a term for that in some South American country, “guevedoche” or “penis at 12″ where the male genitalia don’t really appear until puberty.
