"get to properly enjoy it" by paying someone $700 or more a month to live in a place where you can't hammer nails in the walls to hang pictures, paint walls because you're sick of all the white and have noisy neighbors who fight all the time. Cheap rent (like <$600, depending on your location of course) tends to correlate with bring on a shitty neighborhood too. Or had bad management that takes a while to fix any ptoblem.
