“Are you fed up yet?”
With…lust? Good grief, no.
“Are you sick and tired of being pushed around, cornered, and pummeled by lust?”
Um, no. NO, i don’t feel pummeled by lust. I feel it. I try to keep my interest limited to my free time. I don’t let it drag me downtown or to ‘horny women in your area,’ so, no. Are you sure ‘lust’ is the problems?
"Maybe you want lust out of your life but aren’t sure how to get there.”
I can’t imagine a situation where i would want lust out of my life. I know a couple of people that starved themselves for weight control and insist that once your sex drive is gone, you don’t miss it. I really think the word for this is a symptom. Certainly not a GOAL.
"Sex has been compared to fire. Fire is good if it’s contained in a fireplace. But fire can be horrific if it’s out of control; like a wild forest fire, it can cause tremendous destruction.”
Let me guess. You’re the one who gets to identify the fireplace.
"Sex is great and good in marriage, but outside of marriage it has many devastating consequences.”
Ah, yes. Sex is bad unless God approves of it. Of course, those people who insist there’s no such thing as Marital Rape show that ‘in marriage’ is not a sufficient guide. Many married people face abuse, some of it involving lust, so that’s not a perfect or even useful discriminator.
I’ll stick with ‘between consenting adults’ as the good place for sex. Without consent, or without maturity, that’s bad, whether or not they were under God’s roof when they said the words.
