Re:Netflix produces show starting asian girl with 5 love interests: none of them are Asian

The abuse never ends for us. They are waging total war against us. They hate us to the point they want to stop us reproducing. They want our own sisters to despise us and worship them. And right now they're winning. They ALL HATE US. Get it into your fucking head, we're on our own. Make as much money as possible, do what you can to increase immigration from Asia. We, Asian men, have to take control of Hollywood. That's the only way for this shit to stop. This is so blatant, such an obvious act of war against us. We are the most hated and disrespected group on this planet. Get off your arse and fight the battle.

Educate your sisters and women in your family of whats going on guys

Keep them woke and make sure they realize theirs a a silent war going on to brainwashing their minds. Asian women and men are being attacked relentlessly 24 7 in American media.

I have a little sister that's 12 years old and I am always talking to her about Asian crimes and issues effecting Asian Americans. She's going to grow up strong, confident and woke.

All you guys need to do the same.

Disgusting, but completely expected.

This is a clear example of what is wrong with Asian American gender relations.

The author of the original novels, Jenny Han, is a Korean American. Judging by her last name, she was not adopted by white parents.
The protagonist of the original novels, Lara Jean Song Covey, is half-Korean, half-white. She goes by Lara Jean, with Song as a middle name, so I assume product of WMAF.
The lead actress they selected to play the above character is Lana Therese Condor - a full Asian of Vietnamese descent adopted by white parents.
The novel spent 40 weeks in the New York Times best selling list for young adult fiction, so I'm not surprised a film was made.
However, you can still read a racial bias in the decision to cast a FULL ASIAN in the role of what should have been a half-Korean, half-white character.
This is without even going into whatever problems the author Jenny Han might have had that led her to write a fantasy about a half-white, half-Korean girl whose boy friends are all not Asian.
In fact, this article indicates that one of the worries the author had going into the film, was that it would be white washed - ie that it wouldn't feature an Asian American woman as the protagonist but would put a white woman in her place. Obviously, she doesn't have a problem with the lack of Asian American men, because there were no Asian American men in her novels, either.

This is exactly what Phil from Wong Fu is talking about.

You have a bunch of angry dudes on Reddit complaining about media content. Making all sorts of bitter, whiny remarks.

You're so unhappy and you think they should cast more Asian guys? Then produce your own content and put it on Youtube. If you're so right, then you should be very successful. There should be hoards of Asian guys willing to watch it and financially sponsor your show.

Yet, none of you do. Instead, you sit on Reddit posting trailers and complaining about Asian female writers and Wong Fu. Then go back to doing your software engineering work.

Phil was on point.

except there isn't. and that's our point. who's going to make shows that appeal to 1% of the population (AMs who are aware of whats going on) when you can produce programs that will stroke WM egos and satisfy wish fulfilment for AFs at once. That's where the money is.

and do you really think there aren't AM writers/creators out there? who do you think is gatekeeping them from success? why do college students read Joy Luck Club but not Frank Chin? It's NOT cause Frank Chin doesn't exist or didn't try.

More suicide fuel for AM. Good old liberal Hollywood where (only certain types) of diversity is pushed all day long.
