Christian Education Europe, Accelerated Christian Education, at least eleven British schools #fundie #wingnut news.sky.com

Students in schools using the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum are being taught human-caused climate change is not real and evolution is "impossible", a study has found.

Climate change denial is a new addition to science textbooks that have been updated over the last few years, according to the research.

The textbooks deny human action is linked to rising temperatures and instead teach students God has a plan to prepare a new heaven and Earth with a better climate.

The Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum originated in Texas in 1970 and is used by at least 11 schools in the UK, as well as by some homeschooling parents.

It presents every subject through a Biblical worldview and creationism is a cornerstone of its science lessons.

Christian Education Europe, which oversees the ACE curriculum in the UK, describes the science course as "non-evolutionary in approach and content" on its website. The organisation did not respond to a request for comment.

Researchers from University College London found pupils are not exposed to any ideas contrary to the literal interpretation of the Bible until Year 9 - which they said goes against the legal requirement for schools to offer a "broad and balanced science curriculum".

The study's lead author, Dr Jenna Scaramanga, told Sky News pupils who study the curriculum end up "misinformed [and] not able to weigh scientific evidence".

Edgar Lungu #homophobia news.sky.com

Japhet Chataba and Steven Samba were sentenced in the capital, Lusaka, by a high court judge on Wednesday for "crimes against the order of nature" - Zambia's legal term for gay sex.

Responding to the decision, the US ambassador to Zambia, Daniel Foote, said in a statement: "I was personally horrified to read about the sentencing of two men, who had a consensual relationship, which hurt absolutely no one."

In an exclusive interview with Sky's special correspondent Alex Crawford, Zambian President Edgar Lungu warned of a breakdown in relations between Zambia and the US unless President Donald Trump took action.

He also insisted that nothing would change his mind on homosexuality.

He said: "We are saying no to homosexuality. Why should we say we are going to be civilised if we allow it... are you saying that we're very primitive now because we're frowning on homosexuality?

"Even animals don't do it, so why should we be forced to do it?... because we want to be seen to be smart, civilised and advanced and so on."

Infowarrior #fundie news.sky.com

You just need to read Genesis 1 to know how the world was created and who created it.

Don't forget there has been a lot of spin by the likes of Hawkings, Dawkins, Attenborough et al, but no one has ever seen any true, validated, peer reviewed science that disproves God's amazing creation.

Whether you choose to believe it or not is totally your choice agreed, but, the facts remain, God created everything including us !

It is only mans arrogance that desires to try and disprove that in the belief that they don't need to be accountable to anyone.

Also don't forget if you believe in Darwinism by default that leads to racism and relevatism, ie; you have your truth and I'll have mine.... - so who are you to judge !

Malaysian muslim clerics #fundie news.sky.com

Manchester United shirts have been banned in Malaysia after the red devil crest was labelled "dangerous and un-Islamic".

Thousands of fans have reacted angrily to the decision by Muslim clerics - with some accusing them of supporting Premier League arch-rivals Liverpool.

Despite the Old Trafford side having an estimated 81 million followers in Asia, one senior cleric said: "You are only promoting the devil."

"This is very dangerous. As a Muslim we should not worship the symbols of other religions or the devils," another added.

"It will erode our belief in Islam. There is no reason why we as Muslims should wear such jerseys, either for sports or fashion reasons."

Richard Heene #conspiracy news.sky.com

An amateur storm scientist staged a hoax involving his son drifting off in a balloon because he fears the world will end in 2012, a researcher has claimed.

Richard Heene is suspected of attempting a publicity stunt in Fort Collins, Colorado, in a bid to get his own reality TV show.

Robert Thomas, who recorded Heene's ideas, told investigators the "obsessed" father wanted fame to earn money for a bunker that would save him from an apocalypse.

"Heene believes the world is going to end in 2012," Mr Thomas' lawyer Linda Lee said.

"Because of that, he wanted to make money quickly, become rich enough to build a bunker or something underground, where he can be safe from the sun exploding."
