This sad passing fancy called "modern science" is going to be trounced by religion very soon.

The Blessed Virgin Mary gave to St. Bernadette several prophecies, one of which reads to the effect that science will find a way to blend the essences of men and animals and that the resulting monsters will finally turn mankind against science. She further predicted that the scientists would be "hunted down like ravening wolves".

I can't wait. They are nothing but narrow, small minded human beings with stunted souls who wish to be God.

It's interesting that antipsychotic medication was mentioned. To date, multiple personality disorder has frustrated all attempts at pharmacological or psychiatric amelioration of symptoms. However, it does respond to exorcism when it has been tried, ridiculous though that may sound. That alone should give some pause. Unlike most or perhaps all of those writing here, I have four degrees in the sciences (bio, geo, 2x engr) and am qualified for 22 science and technical specialties. (And have studied others like astrophysics since I was a pre-teen). Despite being literal-minded, I believe. Why? Because it fits the facts. The logic and order of the system God create cannot be ignored.

What's all this talk about the "facts" of macroevolution? It's a historical science. It took place in the past. It's more forensic than empirical. We look to the fossil record for evidence, not facts, and all evidence is open to interpretation. It should be debated in a court room, not a science lab

Evolution is the delusion of the atheist. Evolution equals unintelligent design. Real scientists marvel [and praise God] as they examin the minutest particles of creation, as they find order, design, and replicable laws of nature. Where is JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF UNINTELLIGENT DESIGN?

An Italian comedienne faces prosecution for insulting the Pope, an offence that carries a prison sentence of up to five years.

Sabina Guzzanti, noted for her sharp satirical wit and lampoons of the powerful, is accused of "offending the honour of the sacred and inviolable person" of Pope Benedict XVI at a rally in Rome in July.

Speakers at the rally on Piazza Navona also protested against excessive interference by the Vatican and the Catholic Church in Italian affairs, from abortion to gay rights. Ms Guzzanti, noted for her satirical impersonations of Mr Berlusconi, told the crowd that within 20 years Italian teachers would be vetted and chosen by the Vatican.

She added: "But then within twenty years the Pope will be where he ought to be, in Hell, tormented by great big poofter devils — and very active ones, not passive ones." Giovanni Ferrara, the Rome prosecutor, said that he had asked Angelino Alfano, the Minister of Justice, for permission to proceed with a prosecution.

[on sex in the Olympic Village]

Maybe it should be called the Orgies rather than the Olympics. This is really a disgusting illustration of what sinful man will do whenever he can get away with it... and also a fitting example of why God will be perfectly just to throw them all into hell when it's all said and done.

Almost all of Britain’s social problems are caused by a loss of religion, the Chief Rabbi told Anglican bishops last night.

Societies without religion disintegrated and people succumbed to depression, stress, eating disorders and alcohol and drug abuse, Sir Jonathan Sacks told 650 bishops and their spouses in Canterbury.

When I was a little kid I remember reading in the Bible the story of how Jesus appeared to his disciples after his resurrection. But He said, "Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father." Thomas happened not to be there, so when he was told about it, dismissed it as collective hysteria on the part of the witnesses. Something on the order of, yeah, we all loved the guy, he was a great man, but he's dead. So when again Jesus appeared, he noticed Thomas standing apart with his eyes bugging out of his head. "Thomas, it's me. Really. Come here. feel my scars." The difference between appearance one and two? In the latter, he was flesh and blood. In the former he was probably something like anti-matter. One touch and ka-boom! Goodbye universe. Whoever wrote this originally did not know from molecular physics or whatever kind of science is involved. It was written as it happened. Now, over fifty years after first reading this, I sure would like to know the science behind it. .

(Arguing against voluntary euthanasia)

I seem to remember hearing or reading that at some point in time, the elderly, the crippled, the brain damaged were separated from the young, healthy and strong to be herded into gas chambers. Hmmmm

The first "end of the world" came when the human species was being physically corrupted by angels taking wifes for themselves and having children who were hybrids. That brought the flood. God wouldn't stand for it. He didn't then, and he won't now.

Cardinal Giacomo Biffi #fundie timesonline.co.uk

An arch-conservative cardinal chosen by the Pope to deliver this year’s Lenten meditations to the Vatican hierarchy has caused consternation by giving warning of an Antichrist who is “a pacifist, ecologist and ecumenist”.

Cardinal Giacomo Biffi, 78, who retired as Archbishop of Bologna three years ago, quoted Vladimir Solovyov (1853-1900), the Russian philosopher and mystic, as predicting that the Antichrist “will convoke an ecumenical council and seek the consensus of all the Christian confessions”.

The “masses” would follow the Antichrist, “with the exception of small groups of Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants” who would fight to prevent the watering down and ultimate destruction of the faith, he said.

The Pope traditionally withdraws from public view during the first week of Lent, conducting “spiritual exercises” in retreat with close advisers.

The choice of Cardinal Biffi raised eyebrows in the Vatican, given his sometimes eccentric views. The cardinal gave a warning of the coming of the Antichrist during his two decades as the Archbishop of Bologna, and said that an “invasion” of Muslim immigrants was undermining Europe’s Christian values.

Cardinal Biffi said that the Antichrist was not necessarily a person but “the reduction of Christianity to an ideology . . . The teaching that the great Russian philosopher left us is that Christianity cannot be reduced to a set of values. At the heart of being a Christian is the personal encounter with Jesus Christ.” But he quoted with approval from Solovyov’s Three Dialogues on War, Progress and the End of History, which suggests that the Antichrist is a real figure.

What amazes me about moderns is the widespread ignorance of philosophy among them. Don't schools do philosophy anymore?

A foundation stone for my Christian faith is my acceptance of the First Cause argument put together with Pascal's Wager. From there it is but a short step to my Catholicism.

William Rees-Mogg #fundie timesonline.co.uk

The modernist attack on religion was based on the victory of science, and particularly of neo-Darwinism. Yet science was open to the same challenge as religion; it could explain only half the world. The scientists, or some of them, sneered at religion for being unable to explain the developments of nature. Yet science itself was unable to produce a science-based morality for society. Marxism attempted to create a scientific social order that ended in monstrous and bloodthirsty tyranny. Social Darwinism either meant eugenics and the slaughter of babies who were not thought fit to survive, or it meant nothing. The Social Darwinism of George Bernard Shaw, or indeed that of Adolf Hitler, has been rejected by mankind.

Has the whole world gone mad? Marriage is and always will be defined as a1man and 1 woman. This is the norm for 9/10ths of the worlds population. A small minority practicing deviant behaviour because of lack of adult male loving relationships in childhood, (Straight) is not to be redefined as "normal". I do not boast of being the brightest star in the sky, but escuse me for noticing that male and female "plumbing" if you will, fit exactly. Not true with homo sexual acts. As we say here in Portland, :"The Hershey Highway is a one way street". Talk to any proctologist and they will tell you what they think of the affects of gay male to male sex does to their specialty practice patients.
. It is a choice whether concious or unconcious. We all make daily choices. Psychotherapy most times helps hurting , angry gays to FORGIVE and move on...To forgive is definitly a choice. I have interviewed many gays. ALL without exception were raped as children or teens. Hmmmmmmm...

A HUSBAND almost throttled his wife during a heated theological argument triggered by a controversial Mel Gibson film, a court heard.
Michael Watson loosened his grip on the throat of his wife, Patricia, only when she appealed to his faith by gasping: “Do not touch God’s anointed.”
The court was told that the couple, both devout Christians, celebrated his birthday with dinner and a bottle of wine before sitting down to watch The Passion of the Christ.
Mrs Watson left the room, and her 44-year-old husband became so upset by the graphic depiction of the Crucifixion that he pulled the leads out of the television and went upstairs.
His wife then decided to watch the God Channel and went to ask him why the television was not working.
The couple separated after the attack but are now attempting a reconciliation.
Speaking after the hearing, Mrs Watson said that she had planned “a lovely evening” for her husband’s birthday. “I had bought The Passion of the Christ on DVD that day and we started watching it.” She said that she became upset and left the room before her husband.
“After a while Michael got upset because of the way Jesus’s Crucifixion was portrayed. He pulled the leads from the back of the television in anger and went upstairs.
“Later, I wanted to watch the God Channel but the TV would not work. I went upstairs to ask Michael why it wasn’t working and we argued about it.
“The Devil was in the house that night. I had to remind Michael that I am one of God’s annointed people. It was the devil that made him do that.”
