I don’t know whether or not Pence’s career will be over. It depends how much of the ‘Trump’ side of the Republicans hate him. But he won’t be elected President.
One story I have heard is that Trump said to him “I want you to be the most consequential vice-president ever.” Whether Trump really did say that or not I don’t know either. But he has not been a consequential vice-president, not in the least. There was about as much chance of him attempting to stall or stop the Electoral College votes in favour of Trump (as one side wanted) as there was of him invoking the 25th and replacing Trump (as the other side wanted).
...and yet, who voted in that which chose this particular person as VP?!

Even if all of that were true (which it isn’t) the Vice President is not the referee, nor is congress. Don’t make an analogy to 1960 - Hawaii’s 3 votes did not decide the race for Kennedy and all then Vice President Nixon did was basically take a shortcut to recognizing the Kennedy electors.
For those unaware Hawaii’s recount went late, at first it looked like Nixon win the state and they certified the Nixon electors, however, the recount showed Kennedy won the state so they sent a slate of Kennedy electors as well as the “official” Nixon electors. Nixon arbitrarily chose the Kennedy ones to count nobody in the House or Senate objected and he continued with the count.
What you wanted Pence to do was to simply not count the votes from 6 states (at least) which would have either meant no majority in the electoral college or Trump would win as his 232 votes would have been the “majority” as the magic number became 230 (a real landslide!). You wanted him to have Congress decide who was President, something that the framers were explicitly against except as a last resort. You further wanted them to do so under false pretenses.
Every card in your hand has been exposed. You care not for the will or sovereignty of the people unless they are the right “people.” Unless you seek repentance and genuinely seek to undo the damages you caused over the last 40 to 50 years, exacerbated in the last 12, and irresponsibly poured gasoline on and light the match to in the last 4, than you have zero place in our government and politics.
Yes, the Jesus that you worship and that many of us admire does call for us to forgive. But it’s also clear that repentance has to be a part of that otherwise all you do is set yourself up for more abuse.
Remember when Richard freaking Nixon had the dignity and patriotism to concede to JFK, tell his supporters to stand down, and preside over the certification of his own loss, even though he thought the election was stolen from him?
Pence’s duty is not to help Trump’s self-coup but to fulfill his Constitutional duties.

Al Gore conceded after an extremely close race that’s still debated to this day, and promised to help George W. Bush however he could.
Hillary Clinton, regarded (fairly nor not) as a sociopath, conceded to Trump the day after the election, despite many valid concerns about foul play.
