There is nothing that says "you are a gift to me" then being told that I can't have a job, my own bank account, higher education, lose my kids if I get a divorce, and more. I really don't think you understand that it's not being pampered when you are completely dependent on your spouse to take care of you.

If Beijing University is anything like US universities, they probably have a segment of their student body as foreigners because 1) they pay a lot more than citizens do and 2) propaganda purposes.

Edit: I just looked it up and Wikipedia says it has 2000 international students from all over the world. It also has ties to Stanford, Cornel and Yale, especially as the latter two establish China Asian-Pacific Studies as a major one could study in the new millennium.

2. A) work on your self esteem. You should not be seeing your partner as "you're not going to get anyone else/better than them". When girls do that, it usually ends up in an abusive relationship. B) Guys who want to cheat will find a way. And C) it's usually the norm to expect partners to love you enough to not cheat in the first place. It might be different in other countries.

3. Again work on your self esteem. You should not be settling for something because you think you can't do better. This one gives off "nice guy" vibes.

Grandparents watching the kids for parents while they work or want a date night is a common custom in the US. If Mom has time to go help gather food for the tribe, that's helpful for everyone. And grandmothers can tell the kids cultural significant stories and teach them useful stuff like what plants are edible or good for medicine. This really isn't that hard.
