[In response to allegations of people altering the Bible]
Theres no doubt in my mind that God would not let his word be altered in any way he did not want it to be. If Sodam and Gomorah were struck dead just 4 lying, then why can't some monk be struck dead?

I would suggest, a) The Universe and b) The Resurrection of Jesus. There is no better explanation than the fact that "God Did It"!

Years ago, back when I was in middle school, I saw an angel, and a few years ago when I was in high school I saw a demon. This past summer, I had looked at a bunch of pornography on the computer while my family was away in Washington, DC, and when I was "done" I could hear footsteps walking all around the house; and I was home alone. Why are there so many discussions about other religions (atheism, mormonism, etc) when everything boils down to one verse in the Bible I am The Way and The Truth and The Life and NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT through ME. -John 14:6. Hi folks, today I'm going to act as the devils advocate. Now, many people are aware God sends some people to hell. But why is that? Even worse, God uses some people and sends them to hell so He can achieve His objective. Lets take a look at a few examples. Lucifer - The devil, satan. This angel was made beautiful, yet God made Him evil on purpose so we could have free-will. Now this poor young fellow will burn in hell for all eternity through no fault of his own. That's unless he had free-will of course and decided to fight against God, but... I highly doubt it. Judas Iscariot - Jesus' friend and disciple. This young man hung himself and had his guts spilled out as punishment for doing Gods will. Most likely he is burning in hell for all eternity, again, through no fault of his own. The Jews - These people crucified Jesus and will most certainly burn in hell forever. Yet, if they had not done this then we'd have no chance of salvation. So God purposely blinded their eyes from the truth so He could achieve His objective. Why God? Why?

Do you honestly think that you are the original in raising these questions? If the Bible could be proven false/and or/inaccurate, then Christianity wouldn't have survived 2000 years of persecution. i didnt read the article cause i dont have time. i have to leave in a bit but i saw the subject and i just want to point out a couple things.
1. scientists are even saying that there was most likely like 99% a worldwide flood.
2. wood (the same kind Noah used) has been found at the top of mount Arat(where the Bible says the ark landed). The bible said that the ark was above every mountain so thats how it got to the top in case your wondering.
3. explain the grand canyon
4. there have been fossils of fishes on the top of mountains. explain how they got there other than this.

All of the laws you said here have blaring moral foundations. No one wants to get cheated out of money. And the fishing license thing isn't just for money. It regulates the fishing laws and keeps track of whose fishing so that everybody can't just go out and hook 800 fish a day and that we perserve certain species. It all has morals weather it be about money or not. And those goofy laws you talked about even had morals too. Maybe walking across the street on your hands poses a serious threat in that town.
The only problem with the Bible being stories and myth or whatnot is that it would be very unique. I mean, all of it's major players ahve huge falws with them. Look at David.
