Let me tell you my story. I used to be an hours praying, Bible disecting, days fasting Christian who used to go to church every day of the week that there was a service (which, at the time was 4 times a week, including rehersals). I could see the influence of the Devil in any source of media. And make a good argument by the bible. I was never irrational.

How I felt about dragons. There was a time when I did not like dragons. Because dragons associated to snakes associated to the Devil. I didn’t really mind snakes. At the time, I just thought they shouldn’t be kept as pets, but they are still God’s creation, and God used snakes. Like Moses’s staff, or the bronze snake in the desert. But dragons are not creation of God. What is the dragon?

To me, the dragon was the devil pretending to be God. Specially Chinese dragons. The snake was a clever creature in the garden of Eden, who gave Adam and Eve the knowledge of right and wrong (in other words, stole their innosence, corrupted their innocent minds). Asian dragons are wise, and they impart knowledge to mankind. So, these are not ordinary snakes God’s creation. These were the snakes representative of the Devil. That’s what dragons were to me.

To me, the Asian dragons were born as any other mythology. Distortion of the truth and some influence of the Devil. The dragon had been given aditional features to be more awesome (in the more traditional sense), and had been made big and celestial, and even been given power over nature. It had become a deity. The dragon was a god, like the Devil has always wanted to be.

So what about the other dragons? To me, they were still representatives of the Devil. Maybe not worshiped gods, or at least not directly, but devilish snakes stealing the love of the people. Dragons are cute and friendly? Demons are shapeshifting deceivers. They can be cute and friendly too. To me, dragons were teaching people to accept demons if they are cute and act friendly. Because they only pretend to be, but they really want to condemn your soul. Or at least, that was my perspective. And hey, according to Islam, there is a slight possibility that demons can genuinely turn good. Anyway:

I also did not like when I spent nine hours in fasting and prayer and reading the bible and singing christian songs in my room all by myself, and felt in communion with God, but went to my Christian uncle’s house to visit, and we would watch a movie, to which I would be tempted not just by myself, but by my family. And even if the movie was not about anything of the Devil, when we would finish watching the movie, that feeling of communion with God was gone.

Despite that, all my life I have been fascinated by lizards and dinosaurs. So of course, I was naturally fascinated by dragons. But the bible says “deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow me”. And that’s what I did. A few months after, I read Job. I have read like 66% of the bible. I had heard of the leviathan before, but most of the time, I forgot, and also, because I had only heard about it, I did not know what to think. Even after I read about it, I was not sure what to think. I was going back and forth between my bible and my nearly 10lb biblical dictionary. And I read the psalms. Specially psalm 104. After a while, it seemed more reasonable to me that leviathan is a real animal. And dragon is no more devil than it is wolf or snake. Dragons are no more devils than lions are gods. God is not literally a lion, and even if he were, that doesn’t make all lions gods. The Devil is not literally a dragon, and even if it were, the rest of dragons are not devils.

But most dragons are not like leviathan either. And those that are, often are compared to gods. Like Godzilla. Btw I also did not like Godzilla because people compared him to gods. And Godzilla is not a dragon, but one of the most similar things to leviathan.

So, dragons were still representative of the devil to me for a while. But later I started thinking about it. Were they really representative of the Devil? They were mostly just like normal animals. And then I stopped thinking of dragons as the Devil.

But I still had all the other issues with fantasy and dustraction and stuff. So yeah.

Mr. La, I have read many articles here, but yours comes straight from the heart.

The reason that Christianity presents the greatest difficulties of belief, is exactly because it presents the greatest rewards for continuing faith.

Any Christian, who lapses into despair and nihilism, ends up going insane like the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.

For me, Jesus of Nazareth was, and IS, the greatest Quantum Scientist that will ever live. He told us , 2,000 years ago, that we could speak DIRECTLY to the Father, in his Name. We did not need the Levite priests to tell us how to pray or the infinite abundance of G-d’s love.

Most people are afraid of Jesus’ message, because it tell us real things, about ‘picking up our cross daily to follow him.” That does not fit well with our comfortable life-styles and instant gratification.

Your mention of Jesus ‘interacting with us continuously’ is a definitive confirmation of quantum mechanics, which Jesus already knew two thousand years ago.

If Jesus himself, dying on the cross, can experience the loss of his Father (“My G-d, My G-d, why have you forsaken Me?”) how much more can we, in the comfort of our society, ask him to strengthen our faith when it becomes weak.

You are also spot on with ‘ absolute logic’. - which is the tool for material scientists, but not for maintaining subjective faith in G-d.

“Seek first, the kingdom of G-d, which is WITHIN YOU, and all of these things you ask for shall be added to you.” Matt. 6:26

The discovery of quantum physics is the verification that Jesus knew THEN, what faith will bring to those who remain the “True and Faithful witness.”

I've had this conversation a thousand times. There is no likely version where you believe because you have placed your faith in science and what your senses tell you. That is your God given right in this life.

I was confronted with the same information and believed God’s word and in the Lord Jesus Christ and called on him. I was born again as promised. God works in my heart. I can't impart to you my faith nor what I have experienced.

They are not threats, they are promises. I'm looking forward to that day. The Jews certainly will be.

Now Satan and every one who had rejected will see the coming of Christ as a threat, and I can certainly understand why you would. If they were just my threats you could laugh and pity me, but they are not mine, they are promises the Almighty made in his word. Go on confident in your science, but I beg you to consider the what if the Bible is true? I believe it. I know Jesus Christ will grant me eternal life one day.

Just remember, you made your choice. As long as you have breath, you could change your mind, but when Jesus comes or you die, your decision is your decision. Just be man enough to appreciate the consequences.

Most people, especially those outside the country but also including people living here, seem to think “Duterte = war on drugs = killing people”. This is not true.

Duterte is not all about the War on Drugs. Yes he is pretty determined and focused on this, and is a top priority for him, but he has also done a lot of other great improvements to the country and has also tackled other problems. (Relations with the Muslim population, traffic, online gambling, etc)

This being said, “war on drugs =/= killing people only”.

People and most media often highlight “man killed in war on drugs”. Often the main points are just the negative effects, or the effects explained in a negative tone. What they don’t know is that:

After 6 months of the drug war, only 6000 have been killed
Most of these are the dangerous individuals of the community. They are the ones who will kill you for failing to pay up, failing to sell enough, trying to come clean and stop drugs, reporting them to authorities.. and even for just accidentally entering their illegal drug dens.
Most of these would rather shoot back at police and die fighting that surrender peacefully.
After 6 months of the drug war, more than 1 million have surrendered on their own and are currently getting the much needed rehabilitation they need. No other president has achieved this. (Palace: more than 1-M surrendered amid drug war)
If they can be disciplined and determined to stop, after a few months, they will be off their addiction and have a 2nd chance as a new clean life.
Just because someone was killed in the drug war does not automatically mean it is related in the drug war. A person could have been shot in a failed holdup attempt. A person could have been shot due to road rage. A person could have been shot because of unpaid debts.
Some of the killings are actually from the drug lords who want to silence pushers/buyers who want to surrender (and possible rat them out to police)
If your drug-using family member was accused of using drugs, most often you would plead to sympathy and insist that he/she is “a good responsible person who would never hurt anyone.”, that he/she is “someone who would never use drugs.” Even if it is not true.

The government has already taken hold of drug and non-drug evidence amounting to P8.21 billion, exceeding the value of drugs seized in the past 5 years.

Based from my readings, once a drug addict has been into it for some time now, it will be very, very difficult for him/her to get back to the normal state. It will take a lot of time, effort and money to rehabilitate the patient. And in some cases, relapse is common, because the environment of the patient is one of the 'cues' for relapse - it acts as a stimulus that is very hard to resist.

Duterte wasn’t my choice for president. But I admire what he has done and achieved as our elected president.

He has achieved many things, among those is the drug war, but not just the drug war itself.

LIST: Duterte admin's 2016 accomplishments

Is it okay for children to have sex? Why or why not?

I do not care who, how old, what gender, what ethnicity, what sexuality, or what zodiac sign you are. Anyone may be allowed to have sex with whomever they want to as long as All Individuals involved:
a) Consent to any and all actions they partake in
b) Know what they are doing
c) Understand what they are doing
d) Know the consequences of such actions

Yes, it is possible for children to meet all the above requirements. Yes, it is possible for adults to meet all the above requirements.
Yes, it is possible for children to not meet one, multiple, or all of the above requirements. Yes, it is possible for adults to not meet one, multiple, or all of the above requirements.

I also always suggest(even though it is not required for having okay, consensual sex) the 3C Rule. It will lead to a fun, comfortable, and free time.
Cleanliness, Consent, Compassion
Cleanliness- know and understand consequences of STIs, STDs, etc—; Understand and know about contraceptives and protection and how to use them!
Consent-Do not rape anyone. Also, keep within the comfort zones of participating parties.
Compassion- It would really help if all individuals actually wanted to be partaking in the sexual activities. They may consent—but are they actually into it? wanting it?

What do you think about a 14-year-old girl and a 24-year-old guy having a "thing"?

I've known him literally my whole life. He remembers the day I was born. We never had anything when we were younger though because when he was 18 I was only 8. I use to play games and listen to music all the time with him. I even went to his high school graduation. We just re-connected about 4 months ago. He's in the army and he's also an MMA fighter. He's coming back to our home state next week. And we plan on hanging out.

(Danielle morssison)

Youve known him for a long time. I would say “ follow your heart”

There will be a lot of negativity. No one except you knows how you feel or what you desire BUT everyone and their dog will make it their business to tell you how bad this idea of yours is. Do what you think is right and what works for you. They will also give you their own experiences and stories of how the “young girl” gets taken advantage of and how inappropriate it is for an older guy to be interested in someone as young as you. Well, Well, just tell them that this is how we are wired and that nature knows best what is right and what is wrong. This is instinctive and happens when we hit puberty. You obviously are attracted to this guy. There is a reason for this. You are not exactly throwing yourself at him. You just want to see how things work out between you and him because you have grown up together and you trust your judgement and feelings towards him. Great!! You have had time to think and you want to put that exercise to work. I wish you the best. Please do not let all the negativity distract you. Do not let all this garbage about mental and physical maturity affect you. People will also talk about brain development and readiness for relationships. Well, in that case most people who are married should not have got married. You will know many older girls and guys who are mentally so immature even though they are adults. But, society let them get married because of this artificial age rubbish. Then 50 to 60% of the married population get divorced. Please don’t get dissuaded by those arguments that are brought to you.

My only advice to you would be to make sure not to get into alcohol or drugs and make sure you take precautions against pregnancy and STDs. Make sure he proves to you that he is free from STDs. If that means medical testing the so be it. Dont have sex if he wont get tested. Also, make sure he is honest and you can trust him. He needs to be a gentleman and not get you into any kind of mess.

I have a much older boyfriend and it is fun. I was younger than you when I started and it has been an awesome experience. I am still with him.

Can an 11-year-old date an 18-year-old?

can they? Why, of course!

Does society scream at the older one for it? Why, of course!

Do they themselves want their private lives to be private? Why, of course!

[ on a 13 yr old dating a 24 yr old ]

Hey sweetie —

First off, waiting 3 plus years is ridiculous advice.

Second, forget about that west whatever it is effect. That alleged research has been sharply criticized and other real research contradicts it.

Third, the age of consent varies from state to state, and the army can't do a thing if you are abiding by your state law,

Fourth, your brain development isn't what any of these people are concerned about. They just want you to wait until you are married, because God hates fornicators and so do they.

Fifth, if you don't want to wait at all, you can marry him in 28 states. That leaves 22 that you can't marry in, but the odds are in your favor that the state you are in allows it.

The fact that you can marry and have all the sex you want legally either means God will magical mature your brain the instant you are legally married — or as I said above, they really don't give a fuck about your brain development, because in those states a 60 year old man can marry a 6 year old girl and have sex.

Seriously, it's all about pleasing God.

Lastly, my personal opinion is this is just another fake thread.

Christians can't stop pounding their ignorant anti fornication propaganda.

I say this because I can't believe that you wouldn't know how Quorans would react.

“Wait till your at least 18 dear — “

So funny

Do you think it's a simple ordeal to be crucified? Jesus lived for thirty three years likely knowing he would be subject to an agonizing death. He came to earth knowing what had to he done.

He also left a perfect existence in Heaven with his father, to descend to a grimy, tortuous world.

Do you, question asker, think you could say, it's only an extended period of torture, but I'll get through it? Do you think, as a father, you could watch your son be tortured by sadists, when you have the power to wipe them out? Could you love these people, ask your father to forgive them while they torture you?

The aspect we commonly see, is only the physical pain, which is bad enough. There's so much more, I'm completely sure, that had to make it much worse for Jesus that we can't even understand. He was pure, perfect, innocent - taking all sin upon himself. We can't know what that feels like to perfect God. And... I can't possibly know this, but maybe Jesus will always have those scars in his hands and feet?

Finally, no matter how hard it is to accept something more important than ourselves... Jesus is eternally superior to us in worth, even though he shares his glory with us, his blood. We can't compare Jesus with anything man has done. Any terrible thing that has happened to man, any good thing a human has done, it can't compare to one iota Jesus has suffered, it can't compare to one step Jesus takes out of heaven for us. Jesus is deserving of all glory and praise, we are deserving of death. Yet still Jesus came down and let himself be tortured, he gave his life through us. God, who rules over all, who has perfect joy, who doesn't know time or inability, became subject to pain, became the suffering servant. He owes nothing to us. Yet he sacrificed his son in love.

Lest you think I can't empathize, I've asked this question before. I've struggled with it. I still can't understand how much Jesus really did sacrifice himself ultimately.

But when your next sacrifice comes along, think about this. Would you be able to go through with something, that literally makes you sweat blood in knowing what horrible pain is to come?

(In response to: "What would your reaction be if you died and found out that God exists, and so is hell and heaven?")

They do exist. If you'll read the Bible, my friend, you'll see that. They are every bit as real as the sky, or trees. And God is a name, the holiest there is. Therefore, as a name, it should start with a capital "G".

Rick Tuit #fundie quora.com

(In response to: "How can the Lord’s plan be merciful or just if it requires every accountable individual to be baptized when billions of people have died without the opportunity to hear the gospel and choose baptism?")

Your are assuming that God owes humanity a favor when we chose rebellion over obedience. If we all were to receive justice,we'd be vaporized in a millisecond.Just be thankful that there is a chance for salvation, and take advantage of it,but don't wait too long.

No person will be unfairly judged, because God is just and merciful to all who believe, and doesn't desire anyone to be condemned.A person's sins condemn him or herself, not God.He is bound by His own nature, which demands holiness, only possible through Christ, where justice and mercy meet.

So is it unfair that someone dies without ever hearing the gospel? No,only that anyone is ever saved at all.We are all defendants and not in any position to sit in judgement of our Creator and Judge. The cool thing is that He has already punished the sins of the faithful by having His own Son take the punishment, and then looks at them as if they are as sinless as His own Son.

Thomas Warmuth Thomas Warmuth #fundie quora.com

Repent and believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior would be more accurate. You do not accept Jesus; He accepts you upon repentant faith.

The idea of “accepting” Jesus is very poor terminology. Imagine that I drove into the Augusta Country Club, loaded my golf clubs onto a cart, then walked into the clubhouse and announced that I had accepted them and would be teeing off in 10 minutes. What do you think the reaction would be? Most likely, I would be escorted off the club grounds because I do not accept them, but rather they accept me. That is the order of things, and it is the same with God.

God is in authority. I accept His terms of surrender. I do not accept Him, He accepts me when I lay down my arms and surrender on His terms. Repentance is laying down your arms and surrendering. Faith is believing that Christ died to pay the penalty for your sins, and that the perfect righteousness He earned can and will be credited to you when you surrender.

So, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts

as you did in the rebellion,

during the time of testing in the wilderness,

where your ancestors tested and tried me,

though for forty years they saw what I did.

That is why I was angry with that generation;

I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,

and they have not known my ways.’

So I declared on oath in my anger,

‘They shall never enter my rest.’?”

Hebrews 3: 7–11

Repent and believe while you can, for a time will come when God will say “You shall never enter my rest.”

Would you press a button that kills a random person and gives you $1 million, if no one ever knew about your crime?

The planet is greatly burdened with human overpopulation. We are not only affecting and damaging almost every specie on the planet, we are destroying the planet itself.

At 7+ billion there are TOO many humans.

I am not sure about the true ideal human population but googling a bit gave me an answer of 3 billion.

I would press the button 4 billion times (if possible, damn that’s a lot)

Actually, even pressing that button once every second for 4 billions times, will take me 126 years non stop. Maybe if I could have 20 duplicated buttons and automated arms pressing for me at 6x a second, it can be done in a year or so.

I agree that there is a chance I, or someone I know, would be one of those 4 billion. I would list a specific number of dependents who would get the 4 quadrillion (4 billion x 1 million, correct me if I am wrong) in case I get selected. The automated arms will continue hopefully in case I am selected. In fact it isn’t even about the money. I would choose to have the 4 quadrillion divided equally among the 3 billion left. That’s 1 million to every man, woman, child, baby, grandpa, grandma, etc.

I understand that a few great people who had made great contributions to society might get selected. Natural-born leaders, inspirational speakers, talented doctors, etc. After the year, humanity might be forced to have a rough start. But the human will is amazing and I am sure they will get back on track in a short time. Hopefully though, they would learn from our mistakes and try not to repeat the errors of the past.

That is the good thing about random. There is no bias. Unlike the movie 2012 (image used above) where rich people were able to buy seats, the randomness of this button means Obama has the same chances as the Pope, the IS leaders, the sick cancer elder, the poor homeless child.

Humans are overpopulating the planet, and affecting every other living creature here for their sake. Not doing this for myself.

Doing this for the planet first. And humanity’s future second.

Every survivor is made a millionaire instantly. As the few lucky to have survived, they should take this time to reflect on what happened, and consider changing ways for the future. Enough with selfish greed and crab mentality. They are given a chance at a fresh clean start. Whether they take this chance, or waste it and repeat the mistakes of the past, we will never know yet. But the chance is there. No harm being optimistic.

UPDATE 1:

I am assuming this magic button has a magic way of killing the person.

painless
instant
disappears totally. No issue of billions of corpses suddenly

UPDATE 2:

humans killed colonies of ants that were in their food
humans killed thousands of weeds that grew among their farms
humans killed thousands of insects that were eating crops
humans killed thousands of invasive destructive species that were damaging the local ecosystem

All of this, we saw a plant or animal damaging something and being destructive.

Humans are doing the same to the planet. We are overpopulation, polluting and destroying the environment.

Are we too arrogant that we think we are above and immune to that? Are we too arrogant to think we don’t deserve to be under that rule as well?

One’s social value is tied to the economic value you produce. The men can handle the plow better and produce more food than the woman’s small vegetable garden. If the man is disabled or dies, the family’s ability to feed itself suffers. Thus he’s more important to the survival of the family than the mother and valued more.

It is similar to hunter gatherer societies where she’s catching some animals with snares and gathering fruits and vegetables, but his long dangerous hunts are bringing in most of the high value protein.

(In response to: Does the multiverse exist because of Jesus’s death and resurrection? Did he made quantum immortality possible?)

probably. the quantum mechanic of schrodinger’s cat sort of explains a passage in the bible of revelations and somewhat explains how and why god is omnipotent. in the second white throne judgement every man woman and child’s work will be tested with flame and the good shall endure whereas the wicked acts shall be devoured and destroyed by flame in essence the same yes or no present in divergent parallel universes in quantum physics, a yes for a no, a positive for a negative. similarly since god is present across ALL quantum parallel realms or universes unlike us who are only singularly present bits and pieces of our true selves this means that he sees all in sum total and he therefore knows all. god does mention that he is above time and space so those quantum dimensional walls would not obscure his vision.

21Woe unto [them that are] wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

22 Woe unto [them that are] mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

23

Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

24

Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, [so] their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

How do I deal with a husband (stepdad to my daughter since she was 2; biological dad is not around) who tried to touch my 16 year-old daughter’s private parts?

Divorce is legal in the USA and I am sure there are advantages to it. But people should not use divorce whenever however etc. Stop using divorce as an excuse to every little problem.

When there’s a will there’s a way.

Many people have suggested “NO TALK!” here. I am trying to compose and control myself here to abide with the BNBR policy but every time I see that, and remember the broken families very much common in western countries, I feel my blood boiling inside.

No talk? Imagine if nations on the brink of war had a “no talk” policy? An ambassador was assassinated? No talk, we bomb you! A foreign national was kidnapped and beheaded? No talk, our soldiers are landing at your beaches.

Sometimes problems can’t be resolved by communication but it SHOULD be the first attempt. You send a message or call the other head of state instead of launching missiles at once.

Am I saying a divorced family is worse than an abusive family? No.

Am I saying an abusive family is worse than a divorced family? No.

Both are terrible things. Both are things a child should not go through.

What I noticed though, is that the OP has a daughter and this husband is her stepdad. Which means the OP has already left and divorced her first husband, and daughter’s biological dad. These ladies have already gone through the experience of being in a broken family and divorce.

This incident has happened. That is clear. What’s done is done. The man has done it. He did this. He has broken their trust. He is at fault. I am clear on that.

Let us consider the possible outcomes.

She does get up and leave right there and then, taking the daughter with her. This will 100% guaranteed they are both going to go through the pains and struggles of divorced and being in a broken family again. That we can be sure of.

If they all decide to sit and talk it can end as:

he is given a 2nd chance. He tries it again sadly. Abusive family. They divorce and leave.
she decided to leave regardless of talking. Divorced family.
they work things out. He becomes the father he wanted to be, she gets the father she never had, OP gets the husband she deserves. Happy family.
There is a CHANCE at making things right. A CHANCE to be a happy family. Where as in the first option, that is absolutely 0.

When you get burnt by your oven, do you toss it away suddenly or try to fix and check it at first?

When you accidentally get zapped fidgeting around the wiring of your PC, do you punch the screen, kick the CPU and scrap your PC, or do you carefully check the wiring first and see what might have caused it?

“Until now, there was no attempt from both ends to sit down and talk about what happened and how to move forward”

Can you blame them? This is probably difficult for BOTH of them. She is embarrassed and scared to face him. He is embarrassed and scared to face her. If you just sit and wait, nothing will happen.

If you make a mountain of a molehill, if you escalate the situation drastically, chances are you might cause an unexpected negative reaction and lasting impact to either or both of them.

he could turn spiteful, depressed, violent or suicidal
she could turn spiteful, depressed, violent or suicidal
you could turn spiteful, depressed, violent or suicidal
I would suggest you personally plan, and sit down together with BOTH of them. You will act as the middleman and the neutral ground between two of them. You will be the one in charge of keeping the mood as non-aggressive and calm as you can. Tensions will rise and you will have the responsibility to make sure to call for a time out if it gets too much.

Remember:

This is not a random stranger on the bus or street, this is your husband and her stepdad.
You are married to a human being who is not perfect and can make mistakes. You are not married to the son of god or something.
Would he do it again? Maybe? Maybe not. It is the first time. You can not judge and condemn a person outright for a first time mistake.
She is not a child anymore, but still not an adult. She is 16. She is bothered by this but she is already capable of facing it and learning how to deal with life problems and situations, things she will surely face herself in the future.

It is up to the OP and her daughter to decide, and that the husband can only agree to whatever decision they make.

But talking opens up opportunities to hear both sides as well as for OP and daughter to set new rules and restrictions for husband and challenge him to regain their trust.
...

She can organize the talk, give a chance to the man to prove himself, and at the same time still protect her daughter. She is NOT leaving her daughter as bait.

Also I noted that the daughter chose to go and talk to him at first, even before this question was asked, leading me to assume that the daughter herself wants to work things out. This is what the daughter might want. The OP is just there to be with her throughout this.

You have said you has been with this man 14 years (daughter is 16 and he has been with you since she was 2)

which is why we should not resort to divorce outright!

If you're going to make an outrageous claim like that, at least show what proof there is to support a claim the discredits the Bible or Christianity. Because neither myself nor anyone else who believes in Creation instead of your religion of evolutionism has ever been given proof.

We are always told to take their word for it that it happened- and that's not science—that's also a religion because it is something you believe happened but have no proof that it happened.

So dazzle me please with all this copious amount of evidence you have to prove the Bible is not true. And I am talking about real science - something that is observable, testable and repeatable which neither big bang cosmology or evolutionism is. So merely staying “evolution is my proof” or “the big bang is proof” is not acceptable since no one has ever seen it happen.

See, the problem is you have faith in your beliefs and I have faith in mine. You think your beliefs are science and mine are religious but they're not—they're both religious because nobody has ever seen the big bang happen and nobody has ever seen evolution happen.

You believe it happened because somebody told you it did. And that's religious, not science.

So cough up your evidence that the Bible is fiction. And I want proof you can show without refering to some else's work. Just your own proof because if you use somebody else's work, that makes it religious because now you have faith that what they are telling you is real even though you've never seen it. So I need to see some proof that you've come up with all on your own please.

( And I have a feeling I'm going to be waiting an awfully long time for this because I know for a fact that you don't have any proof. All you have is a belief that the Bible is fiction. )

(In response to: Actually— By definition; God is a superhuman being or spirit worshipped as having power over nature or human fortunes; a deity. Not inherently moral or immoral.)

That’s what a god is. Apollo and Thor were called gods but were specialized deities with flaws and limited powers and finite characteristics. That’s what an evil god would necessarily be as well. You can’t call such beings “God” because they have names to be distinguished from the other similar deities. God, Capital G, properly defined, is the name we English speakers ascribe to the greatest possible being. There are different ideas about what specifically God does and how he expresses those maximally great attributes to us, but that’s the foundational definition.

It takes as much faith to believe in scientific theory as it does to believe in God.

Examples: the theory of evolution. I will give you one question that can't be answered by any professor that teaches this theory.

How did new biochemical pathways, which involve multiple enzymes working together in sequence, originate?

Every pathway and nano-machine requires multiple protein/enzyme components to work. How did lucky accidents create even one of the components, let alone 10 or 20 or 30 at the same time, often in a necessary programmed sequence. Evolutionary biochemist Franklin Harold wrote, “we must concede that there are presently no detailed Darwinian accounts of the evolution of any biochemical or cellular system, only a variety of wishful speculations.”

And this is just one of many holes in this theory!

What about the BIG BANG THEORY????

I love this one! Science expects us to believe that all matter in the known universe came from a rock small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. But wait! It gets better!! Then after this HUMONGOUS explosion, they expect you to believe life was created from no life!!!!! Yeah that's a great theory. No reason to question the scientific validity of that one huh? This is comparable to the following: An F-5 tornado runs straight through a huge junkyard. After picking up most of the junk in the junkyard, that included parts from hundreds of different car makes, and models, a few miles down the road the tornado spits out a brand new, fully functional Lamborghini Khun Tosh Diablo!!!! Yeah, there's another rock solid scientific TRUTH that's taught as fact in our public schools.

Basically, what I'm getting at, is if you have the faith it would take to believe in these theories, then you believe in things that are taught as unquestionable truths in our society today that have absolutely no concrete evidence that they are true!!! So, what's wrong with being safe and erring on the side of caution. What if God does exist? And what if you do stand before Him when you die??? There are tons of people that have had near death experiences that would love to argue this point with you.

Finally, I would return the same question back to you but framed by a believer.

Why is there so much animosity towards God today? What did He do that was so wrong to us, that society has made it their goal to totally eliminate Him, or anybody that believes in Him? No God= no judgement. I get it. But, am I the only one that can see where this world is headed without Him?

Daniel Silva #fundie quora.com

I’ve never been to a country outside of America, yet I continue to believe other countries exist.

Why? Because people who have experiences in those countries have come back and told the detailed stories of their experiences. They tell what they’ve seen and heard, how the people behave, etc. They bring back souvenirs, pictures, etc. (otherwise known as evidence.)

But if I, having no experience in another country, were to tell those people, “No other countries besides America exist!” what do you think they would say?

“You’re crazy! We’ve been there. We’ve seen the evidence!”

If I say, again, from my lack of experience in those countries, “there’s no evidence! It’s all a fairy tale myth!” I might be able to say it in a way that sounds intellectual, but I’m still trying to convince people with an experience that my lack of experience is a more reliable piece of evidence.

It’s silly.

So what is the only way I’ll believe if I don’t accept the stories and souvenirs people bring back as good enough evidence?

I’ll have to go to one of those other countries and see for myself.

When it comes down to it, regarding why I believe, no argument, no matter how convincing, will satisfy the need some people have to see for themselves. Even if I bring back tangible evidence, people will yell “Trickery! You made that in your basement!”

My friends and I used to travel towns and pray for the sick. We would see a lot of miracles happen: Broken bones being instantly put back together, people getting out of wheelchairs, deaf ears opening, migraines disappearing, etc. All the same evidence Jesus brought from his country.

Still, no matter how much the evidence, no matter how many verified doctor reports there were, no matter how many videos we published, there were a ton of people (including Christians) screaming, “Trickery! You’ve falsified those claims!”

Why? Because they lack the experience.

I believe because I’ve seen the other country. I’ve tasted the food. I’ve participated in the recreational activities.

I’ve seen so much evidence that even when I don’t want to believe that other country exists, I can’t stop because my life has been full of the evidence.

I believe because I’ve seen plenty of evidence (too much, if you consider my previous statement). If it’s not good enough evidence for others, that’s their deal. It doesn’t cancel what I’ve seen, heard, tasted and touched.

John Simpson #fundie quora.com

The Bible makes it clear that it is not lack of evidence that keeps people from believing in God. The evidence is available for all to see but most people do not bother to investigate the evidence.

The reasons people do not believe in God are many, but they can be broken down into two basic categories: pride and ignorance.

1. Pride Keeps People From Believing In God

The sin of pride keeps people from believing in God. Humanity does not want to admit that there is something or someone greater than human beings in the universe. People want to be the master of their own fate, captain of their own salvation. The Bible speaks of the pride of man.

These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to him: a proud look (Proverbs 6:16,17).

Pride is the first sin mentioned in a list of things that God hates. It was the sin of pride that caused Lucifer to rebel against God and be cast out of heaven. It was pride that caused Cain to bring an offering of his own works to the Lord instead of the one God had commanded. From the beginning of time, pride has kept people from coming to God.

Jesus' Warning About Pride

James warned about the foolishness of pride:

Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit;' whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, if the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that (James 4:13-15).

Though people may boast that they do not need God the fact is that they cannot exist without Him. People make plans as though they will live forever, but as James reminds us no one is guaranteed that he will be alive tomorrow.

2. Ignorance Keeps People From Believing In God

Another reason the Bible gives for lack of trust in God is ignorance. Jesus pointed out that "not knowing" is a source of error when it comes to believing in God.

You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God (Matthew 22:29).

The two things that characterize unbelief are ignorance of both the Scripture and the power of God. People do not know what the Bible says because they have not taken the time to carefully study it.

Furthermore, they do not understand the nature and greatness of God's power.

Humanity Is Deliberately Ignorant Of God

The Bible says that humanity is deliberately ignorant of God.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of humankind, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18).

Paul wrote:

There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God (Romans 3:10,11).

These verses teach that people are not seeking after God but are actually running away from Him. They are suppressing, or "holding down," God's truth in unrighteousness. They are ignorant of God because they want to be ignorant.

Summary

There are many reasons people do not believe in God but it is not because of lack of evidence. People do not believe because of pride or an ignorance of God's Word and His power. Those who are ignorant of God want to be ignorant. They do not want to know Him.

Christ IS NOT MY LORD. Why do I feel I belong?

You sound pretty angry at the thought of having Jesus as your Lord. Much more angry than someone who has no use for God would have and display. Usually they just go on in silence and not try to convince anyone of Him not being their Lord. Who are you trying to convince? Us? Or, maybe yourself—

You sound like it is a real struggle for you as you know He should be your Lord, but you still defy His words and rebell against Him.

That's a that's a pretty common place to be my friend; but you need to make a decision. Are you going to make a decision for Christ or decision against Him? Jesus doesn't want people who are half and half on the fence. He says in Revelation 3:16 that He would rather people be either on fire for Him or ice cold—not lukewarm.

I understand your struggle and your resistance, but be honest- what is holding you back? What reason do you have to not want to accept Christ?

As I tell everyone - salvation is free. As in, no cost to you. God gives it out to all who ask for it and accept it by faith in Christ. The alternative is you paying for your sins yourself. And that is going to require you being out of God's presence (hell) for all eternity because you can't possibly work hard enough or do enough to pay for your sin debt.

But Jesus can pay for it and He has. And He wants to apply it to your account. All you have to do is ask for it and take it.

So again I ask - what's holding you back from that? Are you happy living on the fence? Your heart is telling you it's the right thing to do, but your sinful side is telling you don't do it.

Surely you must have some reasons for not wanting to accept Christ . Is it lack of evidence that keeps you back or do you not like the thought of giving your life over to God and doing what He says and being obedient to Him ? Is there something perhaps in your lifestyle that you don't want to give up?

You don't have to answer those questions obviously as they are rhetorical. But just think about why you're rejecting Christ and what your reasons are—and ask yourself - are those good reasons? Are they good enough to put my eternity at stake?

I'll leave those words with you for you to struggle with and talk to God about. But if you ask me, you are making a foolish mistake if you choose not to accept Christ. There are infinite pluses and no negatives to it.

You're not going to find a better deal anywhere else. God offers you eternal life for free, but keep in mind that the deal ends when your life ends - that's when they both expire.

You’re drawn to the Church because your conscience is seared from your sin and there’s a force compelling you towards repentance. And if you have even a single sin to repent for then you need Jesus. (And we all do)

You’re drawn to the Church because God created everything in the universe and despite your attempts to force yourself to believe in some form of atheism or agnosticism and Darwinism you feel compelled to think that there is a Creator and a higher purpose. (And there is)

You’re drawn to the Church because God created you with a God-sized hole in your heart that only He can fill. And you’ve tried filling it with everything else and nothing seems to satisfy the longing for “more”—even though you can’t yet describe that longing and aren’t ready yet to admit that it’s for God. (And it is)

You’re on your way friend. Humble yourself. Seek God in prayer with ALL your heart, soul, mind, and strength. God is already pursuing you, that is why you feel compelled. You’re the prodigal son. God is waiting for you to come home. Go to Him, He will run out to meet you!

God bless.

I will admit that I don’t really know because it is a part of secret societies.

Lucifer comes from Latin for “light bearer” while no other Biblical names come from Roman tradition, except perhaps Punches Pilot. (Pontius Pilate).

From what I have heard or seen on the internet, Luciferianism is the primary belief system of secret societies.

For example, until one reaches the level of 33rd degree mason, all of the rituals involve the god of Abraham. At the 33 level (as has been described), one learns that Satan is actually the real god of the universe.

For example, to become an initiate and member of Skull & Bones, one must be sodomized in a coffin.

According to Luciferians, the angry god of the Old Testament, portrayed in stories taken directly from Sumerian history, can’t really be “god.”

So instead they think that the satan snake in the garden actually created everything, instead of god intentionally creating that snake which is a contradiction to the story of Biblical creation. (Nevertheless the serpent is a character in all major religions before Judeo-Christianity, and not described as the epitome of evil.

In actuality

From what information is going around, Luciferians include members of Congress or even the executive branch. They believe that consuming the blood of children will help them live longer and so there are stories of massive pedophile rings like Pizzagate in DC, or of prepubescent children jumping out of the Buckingham Palace, naked, fleeing for their lives.

Whether it is just placebo effect or truly life-extending to participate in pedophile rings and the murder of missing children, Kissinger and the Queen have been around for way too long.

Adam Ramsey #fundie quora.com

Luciferians believe that Lucifer, the fallen Angel, or man, is light, and God is the dark. That God of the Bible is evil, and that they have a better way.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the LORD. Live as children of light “ (Ephesians 5:8)

Satan is a liar and a thief. He tends to work to steal things of God, and steal away understanding. The Allegory of the Cave, for example, works well with the Bible. Darkness is lies. Have you ever believed a lie as truth? Maybe a friend told you something false, and you believed him for a few days? You could be said to be in The Dark. You would have a false perception of reality. Jesus Christ is the Light and the Truth. He leads people out of the cave of ignorance and darkness. Luciferians tend to use this Allegory and put something else as the light. A lie. Jesus Christ is the Truth of the World.

At a certain point we have to stop blaming people for their success. White people are in power because they were able to colonize non-whites. They were able to do that because they had better technology and military. How are either of those things bad? Better yet, aren’t both of things worthy of praise?

Candy Smith #fundie quora.com

Does it matter? We humans are a compassionate lot. We feel empathy for those who suffer in a completely different part of the world, share their pain and often pull resources together to help them out.

Do you think any of us would truly be happy in heaven, knowing there are friends, family or even strangers being subjected to the harsh punishments that 'Hell' is supposedly full of?

Holy books are so full of contradictions and one among them is the fact that the most righteous person is not one who enjoys the riches of heaven, but rather one who sacrifices riches even in the afterlife to reach out and perhaps even trade places with those in hell.

Yeah but people can't just trads places with those that are going to go to Hell!!
They go to Hell for a reason
That reason is that they are full of sin and they were either too stupid to do something about that or they didn't know what to do, (therefore they aren't stupid), but they can't be with God!!
We are full of sin!! If we don't repent and ask Jesus for forgiveness, we can't be with God!!
It's really quite simple!!!
People don't like that answer so they try and make it seem more complicated or more difficult than that and that's just PLAIN STUPID AND a waste of time!! It JUST is!!

Yeah but in the end every knee will bend and every head will bow for the Lord Jesus Christ. And then the Book of life will be opened and whoever’s name was written in it will have life. And whoever’s name was not written in the book will be judged. Just think of the worst day you ever had and multiply that by the largest number you can think of. It will be the worst moment in all of your existence, to know you will be separated for all eternity from Jesus. Please give yourself some time to study the bible and ask the hard questions and get the answers. God bless you all.

Ignoring the insane amount of misinformation that atheists and agnostics spread whenever these questions are asked (I don’t know why people who don’t believe in Christianity spend so much time trying to disprove it), Jesus did fulfill every prophecy written about him, he just didn’t do it in the way people expected him. But people without the spirit of God will never understand how God thinks, and therefore will always be relegated to dismiss anything that isn’t literal or physical.

“The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. “For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” - 2 Cor. 2:11

People who refuse to let God be God except by conformity to their physical senses, will never understand what the Bible is actually saying. So they will always see contradictions and lies because they’ve chosen to reject the only means by which we can see anything else.

The clearest example I saw of this misinformation in another person’s post was the claim that Jesus missed building the third temple. Like the blind, unspiritual religious leaders of Jesus’ day, people who claims like this are unable to think outside of the what they can see and touch, so if there’s not an physical building, a literal temple built, they just write it off as another religious lie.

On the contrary, Jesus said in John 2,

“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.”

And just like these religious critics that are clueless about spirituality, and having no relationship with the Spirit are ignorant of how God was working through Jesus, the leaders snapped back at Jesus with what? An objection based on a physical temple.

“This temple took forty-six years to build,” the Jews replied, “and You are going to raise it up in three days?”

But what does it say next? Verse 25,

“But Jesus was speaking about the temple of His body.”

Christ himself is the third and final temple. Further, in Christ, we too become that temple of God.

“Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,” - 1 Cor. 6:19

Jesus did rebuild the third temple, and he made it out of humanity itself, instead of building yet another out of dead rocks.

Next this critic in another answer says that Jesus failed to gather all the Jews back to the land of Israel.

Jesus said in John 12:32, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

The Apostle Paul says over and over in his writings that there’s no longer a distinction between Jew and Gentile (non-Jew), but that now we are all one in Christ.

In his letter to the Galatians, Paul says that “Jews” are not “Jews” because they are physical descendants of Abraham, but “true Jews” (or “true children of Abraham”) and “true Israel” are all those who are justified just as Abraham was, “by faith.”

Are you seeing the pattern?

It’s not about the physical, literal definitions of fulfillment we’ve come to accept and expect by our standards, and it’s not knowable in the ignorance we try to pass of as intelligence. It’s why it comes off as foolish to all the self-proclaimed intellects, but becomes the wisdom of God for all the losers of the world that can admit they’ve been hopelessly ignorant all along.

Are you seeing the other pattern?

Jesus is the third temple—

—annnnnd..

Jesus is the “land of Israel.”

Jesus is the one who has done it all. He does the fulfilling, he does the drawing, he does the saving, he does the justifying. He is the “author and the finisher,” “the beginning and the end,” the “alpha (first) and the omega (last),” and everything in between.

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were hostile in your minds because of your evil deeds. But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence— if indeed you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.” - Col. 1:15

All a human has to do is say “yes” instead of no. They don’t even have to get rid of any baggage, they just have to loosen their grip on it enough for him to.

The only thing Jesus doesn’t do is the judging and condemning. People do that in their demand to be judged by anything other than the work of Jesus that “takes away the sin of the world.” Want to keep and be judged according to your record of good works and so-called intellect? Well, in your file of good deeds (and I bet they are many!) there is also a record of bad deeds. And in your file of witty intellect (you smart all-knowing somebody!), there is also a boatload of ignorance. If you demand to be judged by the good, you demand to be judged by the bad. And contrary to what we think of ourselves, the record of our bad deeds sticks against us harder than the good, because even much of our so-called good is twisted by impure motives.

“Yes, I robbed the liquor store, judge, but I also held the door for a lady on the way out!”

Good luck!

On the other hand, if you give up your insistence to be accepted and noticed based on your own goodness, if you let the record of your good be thrown into the fire, with it goes your record of your bad. If you choose God’s goodness over your own then there isn’t a single stroke of the pen to stand against you because, like Jesus did long ago, you’ve finally considered every record (the good and bad) as dead as he became on the cross. A dead man is good for nothing, and so is your record of deeds.

“He forgave us all our trespasses, having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross!” Col. 2:14

This is how he draws all people to himself, by the forgiveness of sins; the letting go of people’s offenses; the burning of the record books.

People judge and condemn themselves by the insistence that they be judged according to their records of good, instead of God’s absence of records altogether. Those are people who love their records so much they’d dive into a burning fire for all eternity just to salvage a few scraps.

His one and only requirement is faith. And that doesn’t mean to pound your chest, squint your eyes, and concentrate really hard on believing. Faith is a yes or no question: yes, for Jesus to be the all-doer he already is. Or no, to continue insisting that you yourself fulfill all the requirements he already did (hint: you stand a snowball’s chance in hell).

Back to it. In his drawing all people to himself through the forgiveness of sins, and in his one and only simple requirement being that a person has faith, he is fulfilling the prophecy of gathering all the Jews (children of Abraham being those who have faith) back to the land of Israel (himself).

“That’s cheating! That’s a stretch!”

No. He is “the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world.”

This was the plan all along. It was people who assumed (and therefore demanded) that it be done according to their limited standards and expectations. No imagination, no willingness to have fun and play, just like the the by-the-book, by-the-letter party-poopers that killed him. :P

“You’re supposed to rebuild a physical temple!”

“I did. It’s me, in the flesh! Oh? You assumed I meant another building made out of bricks and mud and gold? I had something way more beautiful in mind!”

“Well, you said you would gather all the children of Abraham back to Israel!”

“Did that, too! I’m Israel, and the children of Abraham is anyone who believes. Oh? You thought I meant only Jews by nationality? Jews by religion? Oh no, my friend! You’re thinking too small again! I didn’t want a reason to exclude anyone, like you sticklers are always trying to do to each other, so I made it easy for anybody to get in. All you gotta do is check “yes” on the dinner reservation! Faith is nothing more than a RSVP to the party I’m throwing! Say yes and I’ll even pick you up personally!”

Look how it works though: when he refused to do it their way, what did they do? They killed him. And when he continued to refuse to do it their way, what did they do? They jumped on Quora and started spreading a bunch of misinformation based on their own lack of understanding of what the Bible actually says about him. :P

But regardless of the lies people perpetuate, Jesus has very much kept with the program he set in motion from the very beginning, fulfilling each and every prophecy (I’m not going to detail all 300 of them on Quora, but that might be a fun idea for a new book!). He just decided to have a little fun and be creative like creators do, and people decided to do what they do whenever someone colors outside the lines.

“You can’t do that!”

“Actually, it’s my creation, I can do it any way I want. Don’t like it? There’s a nice corner of outer darkness for you to throw your tantrum in. But you certainly aren’t going to ruin my party by throwing your temper tantrum in front of my guests.”

If your life’s mission is to poop on parties and discredit anything and everything with even the slightest association to religion, then you’ve already decided that Jesus didn’t fulfill a single prophecy, and maybe even that there’s no proof that he existed at all. That’s not because the evidence is missing, it’s because you’re missing the evidence.

To build a case for the reality of God, we must start with the evidence for God. We have to show that first a Higher power exists. Second: if its one or many Gods. Third: if its a deist type it theistic type. Fourth: what makes the theistic God true of the Bible compared to Islam. Five: whats the evidence for Jesus and if Jesus claims to be God does the evidence support that. The evidence below will shed light on every one of the questions above.

The Kalam study, Ontological, teleological, archeological, biological, philosophical, historical, forensic evidence, manuscript textual criticism, early church fathers letters, secular sources, eye witnesses, amazing 360 degree life changes once hearing or seeing the truth, testimonials, prophecies fortold in the past and recorded historical events actually took place, moral law that is transcending, space, time, and matter came into existence during the big bang which means before the big bang there was no matter or natural relm. It took something from the supernatural relm that had to be spaceless, timeless, immaterial, powerful, intelligent. All points to a theistic God.

Just from secular sources, manuscripts, fragments, and early church fathers letters brings even the scholar skeptics to admit our current Bible is atleast 98% accurate to the original sources.

Making the Bible the best evidence to show who God is.

Cold case detective J Warner Wallace who has been on tv a few times for solving really old cold cases decided to try and prove the Bible wrong by using forensic science and investigating the eye witness accounts. Which surprised him how accurate they came to any eye witness accounts he had came across many times and eventually the evidence led to accept Christ.

Christianity became true when the very real historical the Jesus called Christ was crucified and from eye witness and secular sources speak of this event happening. Then something crazy happened 3 days later that gave great courage to the scared and hiding disciples that they gave their lives for claiming Jesus had risen ( in which only God can defeat death). Something turned the middle east and Rome upside down and Christianity spread like wild fire. The early church creed almost sounded as if I dare you to investigate the still alive eye witnesses for yourselves.

Applying imagination to the superhero though, I’m sure anyone could conjure a way for Hulk to survive among dinosaurs considering we did, and still do. If you don’t know Jesus as your personal LORD and Savior, you can by simply sincerely believing by heart and confessing by mouth that He is the Son of God, who came in the flesh, died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the grave on the third day(John 3:16, Romans 10:9, 1 Corinthians 15:1–4). If you said to the average Japanese person “would you like a few million African migrants over the next decade?” they would reply “of course not! That would totally change our racial and cultural identity. We are fine the way we are. Why would do such a crazy thing?” To the Japanese (or Chinese) it seems perfectly natural to want to preserve your identity. In Western countries, multiculturalism and racial diversity have become new religions. People are hysterical about both and won’t tolerate any criticisms or objections. In general, it is the liberal middle-classes (hidden away in the leafy suburbs) who defend multiculturalism and mass immigration, and it is the white working-class (those who have to deal with the consequences) who oppose it.

I would also have a question for those who believe that desiring cultural and ethnic homogeneity is necessarily racist. Do you feel that way about American Indian reservations, whose geographic ambit and legitimate membership is defined solely by ethnicity? What about hunter-gatherer tribes? Should they be expected to admit members from all parts of the world in such numbers as to completely remove their cultures? I doubt it. A case in favour of preserving such “victimized” and “vulnerable” groups of people is likely to be made in response to my question. However, to that response I would pose another question. Are you not treating such people differently based on their ethnicity and shared history? Is that not racist? If not, then why are people who do not share your specific pre-packaged neo-liberal family of ideas, who do the same thing, racist?

Agnostics are the most intellectually honest of non-believers. They admit they don’t know one way or the other, or care. No evidence either way.

Atheists reject the thought of a GOD because it would mandate a change in their behavior and values they are not willing to do. So they forcefully reject the notion, which actually requires as much faith as the believer, because they also have no proof. In fact, the motion of the universe, stars, and all therein implies a creator put it in motion. (Nothing logically moves itself, or creates itself.) So they are denying the laws of the universe we have all observed over time.

God never sins, he can’t, he's perfect, though you might think he’s bad or sinning when he’s not because, you’re human, which makes you evil from birth. So you might be deluded to the point that you think you’re worthy to judge God? Wrong it really just reveals how sold out to evil you actually are? You’re probably filled with demons, have you felt a desire to sell your soul lately? As long as you haven’t sold your soul, ask your friends to keep on eye on that bobble head of yours to make sure it doesn’t go off spinning in circles on its own, without your knowing it?

I mean since you asked this obscene question and all it only makes sense that it could happen — right?

If Noah's ark was not real, then Christ Jesus would be a liar. Matthew 10:34–39 says, 'For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the Flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 and they took no note until the Flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.'

Luke 17:26,27, 'Moreover, just as it occurred in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, men were marrying, women were being given in marriage until that day when Noah entered into the ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all.'

Apostles mention of Noah's flood:

2 Peter 2:4, 'And he did not refrain from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a flood upon a world of ungodly people.'

Hebrews 11:7, 'By faith Noah, after receiving divine warning of things not yet seen, showed godly fear and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; and through this faith he condemned the world, and he became an heir of the righteousness that results from faith.'

Christ and early Christians obviously believed it happened.

(In response to: "Is it a sin to use marijuana?")

This answer is very logical and slot of people try to bypass the truth and ignore God's words. The answer is simple. Jesus came to a wedding here on earth and did what? Turned water into wine right? So where does it say Jesus grew a field of marijuana plants instantly on the land. He didn't perform that miracle because he wouldn't jeopardize our salvation through His death.

Many people have this theory mixed up. People have made marijuana a system, and this system now follows them and their finances. The system they created now runs their life and their life style, and it's a system like any other system that becomes a hard habit to break.

I believe based on what I've read in the Bible itself that using marijuana not only hurts your body to a certain extent, but it is completely a abomination in God's eyes. We are Gods %100 anything else besides Him is a system you create from your past and your experience, and as long as the enemy can use things like marijuana to stop you from fulfilling your purpose for God— he will tempt you always.

If you want to get medical then your going to tell me it cures this and that but if you want to get spiritual then me or who ever else uses marijuana is just like the rest of them who wont inherit heaven—. In God's eyes not my eyes. You have a purpose and you have a spiritual realm, but the enemy lives in the carnal and the flesh realm, and his purpose is to use whatever he can to stop you from being God's child.

One will not see evidence of God nor can I prove there is one. By the same token you cannot prove there is NOT a God.

You cannot use human rational thought in order to categorize God to fit your way of thinking. God exceeds human references; particularly emotions.

As to God making sense to you, only goes to prove the point you really do not understand life and why we are here.

(In response to "If God exists he is evil. How true is that statement?")

This argument rests on a couple of assumptions:
1) It imposes human ethics on God. It imposes human judgement on God. In the same way your dog can't make judgement about you or even your 2 year old can't make judgements about you. This is on two levels--your kids aren't in a position to understand--they don't have enough wisdom and experience. Second, and most importantly we aren't in the position of power.

2) This misunderstands the necessity of free will for human life or love or anything we value to make sense.

3) It misunderstands that Satan is at the root cause of the problem.

4) It misunderstands the importance of spiritual and character development over physical pain. Even Olympic stars and championship athletes understand the value of training and stretching your muscles.

5) One analogy CS Lewis uses is a home remodeling. God loves us too much to leave us the way we are.

What are things a Christian can tell an atheist to make them doubt their belief?

Well to be truthful, absolutely nothing, They are intelligent people, who are temporarily insane on this one point of wisdom, but God is at work in the minds of all people, and one day when God has prepared them to accept the truth, a light will go on, and the light of God will brighten their life forever. Their biggest problem is getting past the false concept that science is always right, and religion is always wrong. I think the easiest way to get them to conceive of a brighter mind in the universe than theirs is this, Genesis 1, 3,000 years ago God sat down a common shepherd, Moses and told him how the universe was created, and he wrote it down. It still stands as the only logical explanation of the creation of the universe, but it suffers because of ignorant translators. No one questions the order of life coming into this world, They question the existence of a God and His ability to do it. They question the time reported for Him to do it in. that is where the ignorant translators come in. the Hebrew word translated as day, actually originally meant a period of time, not a set 24 hour period, so it could have been millions of years. He didn’t mention dinosaurs, but he was writing for people 3,000 years ago and there were no dinosaurs 3,000 years ago, if he had mentioned it no one would have believed him until about 200 years ago. That’s it now if you are dense enough to think a common shepherd could have sat down and come up with that on his own, you deserve to be an insane atheist. Now let me prove Noah’s flood and the tower of Babbel

I don’t know of any scientists who believe there was ever a world wide flood as described in Genesis, and yet there is historical proof that there was one, and it was world wide. I don’t know of any scientist who believes the tower of Babel was the cause of all the different languages in the world, but again, there is historical proof, which is contained in the proof of the flood, that something like the tower of Babel happened. Nothing happens in this world unless God causes it or allows it to happen.

1. If there was a world wide flood, and if Noah had 3 sons, we would expect to find, in history, 3 separate stories of this flood that would be similar, but different, that came down through the following generations, one story for each son and his children. These stories, would be major stories that were recorded long before Moses wrote Genesis, possibly by thousands of years.

Historically this is exactly what we find.

2. If the Tower of Babel story is true, The names of Noah and his children and other principle characters, would be different.

Historically this is exactly what we find.

3. If this was a true world wide event, we would find similar stories in almost every culture in the world.

Historically this is exactly what we find.

4. If the Tower of Babel story is true, none of these stories would contain the same names of any character in the Bible story.

Historically this is exactly what we find.

Conclusion: since all of the above is true, this proves the existence of God, proves the happening of a world wide flood, and proves an event that can be equated with the Tower of Babel story where all the languages of the world were changed from an original language.

Noah’s name in the 3 major stories handed down by his three sons was, Atrahasis, Utnapishtim, and Deucalion. All of these stories are known to have been recorded prior to the writing of Genesis.

In addition to these three major stories, there are over 500 other stories of a world wide flood, that have been found through out the world.

All of these stories can be found on the internet, by doing a search for “flood traditions.”

Final conclusion: there was a world wide flood, God exists, The Tower of Babel, happened.

Your question is beautiful in its simplicity and in its profoundness. Let's change your question, for a moment, to "What, if anything, in the Bible can we believe as true?" Well, if we are to decide which passages in the Bible are true we must first have some sort of benchmark by which we can measure them.

We should not accept or deny any passage simply because it seems to us to be too incredulous or too desirable. (i.e. deny the 7 day creation or accept Jesus resurrection) That is not a benchmark. That is simply an emotion. We need a good source of credibility. So consider this: Is God, Himself, a good source of credibility? If God stood before you and gave you an answer would you believe it? My answer to that is "Yes."

Countless times in the Old Testament specific people relay to us what God has told them. But I assume that, for many readers today, these individuals lack credibility because there are no corroborating witnesses to verify that God actually said these things to them. So maybe we cannot trust the Old Testament to be true. Please read on.

The New Testament features God speaking to people in a very different form than in the Old Testament ... PERSONALLY, FACE TO FACE, as the man Jesus. God took the form of a human being to address man in a very direct manner. Why should we believe that this happened?

Because it was reported, not by one individual, as in the Old Testament, but by many, we can give the existence of Jesus credibility. The gospels of John, Mark, Mathew and Luke are independent verifications of Jesus' time on this Earth; as well as are the 13 books written by Paul. But why should we believe these guys? We should believe them because of how much they suffered for sticking to their stories.

You see, the Apostles all followed Jesus with fervor while things were going well. But, when Jesus was arrested, they all fled in fear of persecution. They abandoned Him. Even refusing to know Him when confronted. Not one of them attended His crucifixion or even his funeral. But 40 days later they were ALL back out in the public preaching His message. For the rest of their lives they continued preaching, against the threat of death by the Roman government. Each one of these men underwent excruciating torture and death rather than retract their testimony that Jesus rose from the dead or rather than stop preaching his message. To me, that is proof that Jesus did, in fact, raise from death and appear, as indicated, to over 500 people. If Jesus can do that He should be given some credibility in what He says. And, here is the kicker ... HE SAID THAT HE IS GOD.

So we have multiple credible eye witnesses, that all died rather than retract their statements, verifying that He raised from the dead. We have Him establishing to us that He is God. So I think we can believe anything He says. And most of what He says is verified by multiple reports from multiple men. But what about everything else in the Bible?

Well, let's look at the rest of the New Testament. Jesus told the 11 apostles (Judas was no longer with them) that He would put the Holy Spirit in them to guide them in their teachings. For me, that verifies the rest of the New Testament. What about the Old Testament?

Multiple times Jesus referred to Old Testament passages, verifying their truthfulness. I believe that this means all of the Old Testament is true.

So that is the LOGIC that I use to support my belief that every word in the original Bible manuscripts is true and infallible. But consider in the book of John, chapter 20 verse 29, when Jesus, after raising from the dead, stood before His apostle Thomas. Thomas couldn't believe that it was Him until Thomas put his finger into Jesus' wounds. Consider what Jesus then said to Thomas: "Is it because you have seen me that you have believed? How blessed are those who have never seen me and yet have believed!"

So I caution you to rely too heavily on logic and proof. Just search the word "faith" in an online Bible and see how much Jesus emphasizes the importance of faith over proof.

God Bless You.

Although God ordered the extermination of entire cities, He did so in righteous judgment on a people whose corruption had led to extreme wickedness, including child sacrifice. Did God destroy the righteous along with the wicked? In an exchange with Abraham, God indicated that He would spare the wicked to save the righteous. He demonstrated this principle by saving righteous people from Sodom and Jericho prior to their destruction. The charge that God indiscriminately murdered people does not hold to to critical evaluation of the biblical texts. The Bible says specifically that all people (except Noah and his family) had become corrupted.12 Not only had all people become corrupted, but they were continually plotting evil!13 Is it possible that an entire culture can become corrupted? You bet

Here are five reason why God won't go away:

God fingerprints are everywhere on creation.
The historical case for Jesus is actually quite good.
A world without a Creator doesn't make rational sense as worldview--its a dead end of a philosophy. Its relativistic, which would destroy dignity, rationality, freedom, rights, excellence, courage, love and everything we value as humans. Theism makes much more sense than that.
Theism is the wise choice. Theism is rule utiltarianism to atheism's act-utilitarianism. Sometimes it makes more sense to do whats best in the long term--the wise choice. Ethics and integrity are the wise choice. Or did you forget about the crash of 2008 brought on by selfishness and ethical relativism?
Atheist arguments are far more pomp and circumstance than they may look like on paper. Also, people's faiths in Christianity are far more developed and complex than the straw-person characterizations you read in new atheist books or from the atheist echochamber online.

Given all of the above now.

I've also written multiple times how:

scientism
determinism
reductivism
and the other ideologies associated with physicalist science

Go check out critiques of Hume's Argument against Miracles, which undermine the very basis of the naturalistic worldview. The 1800's called...they want their hidden assumptions back. Without Hume’s critique of Miracles.....the atheist worldview crumbles into the shadows of theism.

Also, the Scandinavian arguments are all based on one academic's analysis which doesn't fully take into account their actual religion.
