And Greenland, what are the downsides of taking Greenland? Well, you establish a precedent that if I have the power, I get to take what I want. That's always been enforced. That's human nature. We've constructed a kind of elaborate series of rules, theoretical rules designed to pretend that's not true and to mitigate it to some extent over the last eighty years.

But really, that's always been true and always will be true. But that's a pretty tough game once you write the rules, that if someone can take something because they want it, it's okay. You have to live with them. NATO will effectively be done. How can you have a defensive alliance when one member acts against another?

Probably can't. NATO was going out anyway. Is it really bad that NATO's going away? No. It's a huge victory for the world and for the United States, but it's gonna be tough for its many employees and for the entire infrastructure of foreign policy thinkers such as they are in Washington and Brussels and throughout Europe. They're going to have to face the reality that this is not a real thing anymore.

If NATO was real, then the US wouldn't have taken Greenland. So there's that, apparently a downside.

He keeps talking about it amid the unrest and riots in Minneapolis in response to the ICE deployment. By the way, nobody has been arrested. Do you know that? There have been all these riots happening in Minneapolis. Last night, you have an ICE agent -- I think, actually it happened this afternoon. He shot a Venezuelan illegal because he was trying to arrest this guy and a bunch of agitators came out and hit him with shovels. And so ICE barged in, arrested everybody.
But in Minneapolis, there's straight up riots going on. They're shooting fireworks at cops, taking over hotels. It's mayhem.

Do you know that Minneapolis police arrested zero people last night? So when you see these videos of fireworks blowing up and cops getting beat and the absolute anarchy that's unfolding, nobody's even getting arrested. So Trump says, “I'll invoke the Insurrection Act.”

I'm just tired of the idle threats. “We're going to bomb you,” “we're going to tariff you,” “we're going to invoke the Insurrection Act.” Always chickens out. Just do it. You're the commander in chief. He does it every time. He did it during the BLM riots, he did it during the LA riots. Please pull the trigger. Please kill them, Mr. President. Please just kill them. Not actually. I don't actually, I'm not actually wishing for violence, but please send in the military and restore order. This is your country. You are the commander in chief of the armed forces. You are the chief executive over this country and it is lawless. Take some responsibility, take the reins, send in the military. I don't get it. This happened the last time in Minneapolis, BLM, summer of love. Trump kept threatening, “I'll send them in. I swear I'll do it. I'll invoke the Insurrection Act.” Do it. Throw these people in jail. They are trash.

I saw a hilarious post by somebody who said, well, now that we've done this, what's to stop China from morally attempting to take Taiwan? I wasn't aware that China was bound by our moral strictures. If they were, I don't think that they would be China, actually. I don't think that Russia is waiting around for our opinions. They're just doing what they want, and the thing that stops them is us, not our moral suasion
On a moral level, by the way, taking out a communist dictator who has impoverished his people and destroyed his country is, in fact, morally superior to taking out, say, a democratic leader in another country who is not doing any of those things. Some bizarre moral relativism that is set in on both the horseshoe left and the isolationist right is pretty astonishing to watch

And to counter that, though, the liberal media is trying to go out and tell, like the most insane thing — like, here, about this six-month-old who unfortunately got tear gassed by ICE. Well, like, that sucks. But why was the six-month-old, even exposed or near tear gas in the first place? Huh?

I mean, this has become such a problem that people are using their children as political pawns that DHS had to tweet this out. We told you about this other day. Do not bring your baby to a violent riot. The fact that you have to tell someone that — you should be — your kids should be taken away from you. But that baby was exposed to tear gas because the mob — baby was in the mob in a car — the mob was attacking the ICE agents. They didn't aim the tear gas. They weren't like, hey, check out that six month-old. Let me shoot him in the face. Not at all. That's not at all what happened. They were aiming at the crowd where, for some reason, the car with this six month-old was. Now, if the crowd — I don't know. And I'm just spitballing ideas here — If they listened to law enforcement, no one would have gotten shot with tear gas.

Also showing stuff like this. Kids skipping school to protest ICE turns into violent mosh pits and all this stuff. Here the kids are just piling out of classes like, hey, no, no, they should probably not be in class at all. It's just unbelievable. The only reason that kids would protest ICE because they were taught to protest ICE by liberal teachers in Tim Walz's school districts.
