I don’t deny that native tribal warfare and death penalties could get pretty dang gruesome but that doesn’t reflect the people as a whole! Every culture in the “olden times” was brutal at times; Europe had stuff like drawing-and-quartering!

Conquering other cultures to steal their stuff is unnecessary. Most wars could’ve been avoided if everybody agreed to peacefully trade. Wars only happened because rulers were macho and wanted to rule the world. It was ego & greed!

The tribe that Columbus’ bunch wiped out were a nice friendly tribe that actually welcomed and helped Columbus’ bunch, initially. Columbus & Co. saw this and rather than think “These are such nice people. Let’s work with them and trade with them” (like NORMAL PEOPLE) they instead went “Look at these docile sissies being all altruistic and stuff like total fems! They should be easy to brutalize and conquer!” (Like the inhuman psychopaths Columbus’ bunch were).
Columbus’ abuses got so bad that even the Spanish Crown was disgusted!

Columbus Day was invented in a time when Italian-Americans were persecuted by Anglo-Americans and served it’s purpose (this is why we were celebrating ‘Columbus Day’ and not ‘Leif Erikson Day’ in regards to European ‘first contact’ with the ‘New World’… despite Leif being more qualified due to actually landing in North America). No one back then knew about the genocidal stuff and they only knew about Columbus as simply a “great explorer”. That’s how we were all taught back in the day… an unassuming but noble explorer guy (High adventure on the high seas!) and nothing more.
Thus; Italian-Americans picked a historical figure who could link Italy, Roman Catholicism and the USA, ol’ Cristoforo Columbo, the “Italian Explorer” guy… as a means to say, “See? We are Americans, too! The great explorer who discovered America was one of us!”.
Never mind that Chris identified as “Spanish” first and never set foot on the US mainland but some old American Catholic guys named Mario & Guido didn’t know those details at the time.
It wasn’t later that the real truth came out; First the fact that Chris was a doofus who stunk at his job, landed in the CARRIBEAN and mistook it for India or China (Hence why Indigenous Americans got dubbed ‘Indians’ as in ‘The Indies’ and why Caribbean Islands became ‘The West Indies’)… Now the full horror of what he did once he landed in what is now The Dominican Republic & Haiti is being known and he’s not worth any accolades!

All being white means is that a bunch of black Africans migrated to cooler climates with less direct UVA/B rays, had Vitamin D issues and became an ethnic group known for some weird form of albinism.
