WASHINGTON — MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell went wildly off-script during a White House coronavirus task force briefing from the Rose Garden — calling on Americans to read the Bible and find God during quarantine.

The mustachioed friend of President Trump was invited to speak at Monday’s briefing to announce he had joined the effort to produce critically needed face masks, churning out up to 50,000 masks a day by this Friday at one of his converted pillow factories.

But at the end of his remarks, Lindell, who is known for the ubiquitous cable ads for his pillows, asked Trump if he could deliver some “off the cuff” remarks which turned out to be a religious sermon.

“God gave us grace on Nov. 8, 2016 to change the course we were on,” Lindell said, referring to the day Trump won office. “God had been taken out of our schools and lives, a nation had turned its back on God.

“I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the word, read our Bibles and spend time with our families,” he added before touting low unemployment and a roaring economy under Trump.

“With our great president, vice president, the administration and all the great people in this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever,” he finished.

I've read it many times...that's why I'm an agnostic. If I had to go into quarantine with only one book, I would prefer Shakespeare, any day.

So all those requiring their slice of the over $2 trillion bailout pie as a result of losing their jobs due to Coronavirus & it's effect on the US economy are just Chopped Liver, eh Mikey-boy...?!

As that figure currently running at over three million unemployed continues to rise, I guess you'll be back in your word, reading your Bible and spending time with your family, eh? Especially the latter part of what you say.

'Spending time with my family': a phrase oft-used during the John Major premiership here in Britain. And a thinly-veiled way for an MP: especially a cabinet minister, of saying they're resigning. And having to resign because they'd been caught in a scandal: mainly of a sexual nature, and during said Major premiership in which he said his party would go 'Back to Basics'. His farty... er, I mean 'party' being Conservative. And the ultimate irony, re. the basis of his initial (and successful) election campaign? John Major ultimately caught having an affair with cabinet minister Edwina Currie.

Well, if things go the way in the US as expected - certainly based on how Coronavirus has hit Italy & Spain - you're going to wish you were merely Ted Faggard 2.0 Mike-o.

^the God of American white supremacists who are anti-gay, pro-gun, insists it’s in the Constitution somewhere that in the United States, ‘freedom of religion’ means ‘freedom to be a Bible literalist Christian or GTFO of the country!’ and that Family is Daddy, his wife Mommy and their children, with Mommy and the children working for Daddy who owns and runs the household like a business.

I will grudgingly provide a smidgen of credit to whoever got the idea to incentivize companies that normally manufacture other seemingly unrelated products to adapt facilities with the capability to produce critically needed supplies such as medical masks. If that was someone in Trump’s circle - which I doubt - I will acknowledge you did something smart and it was in the best interests of the country. That is how you get good press, not by conditioning doing your job on getting flattery or attacking the press non-stop and trying to deconstruct the trust between the public, the press, and the government or even the very concept of an objective reality and recorded history themselves.

But don’t follow that up by immediately running your mouths on your own ego-tripping agendas and ruin that bit of good will I would extend you like Lindell here.

Edit: And it’s EVEN WORSE than I originally thought. Those masks he seized? He’s not distributing them to hospitals or anything that would make even a remote amount of sense - he’s even attacked hospitals calling them hoarders - he put them up for sale to the highest bidder and is using FEMA to bid against states to drive the prices up!

What the actual fuck is wrong with that asshole?! If you got the greatest minds in the world together to calculate the absolute worst course of action to take in the face of a disaster they’d have a hard time coming up with the things that come naturally to Donald J Trump because they previously would have been unthinkable. He’s some kind of idiot-savant of overblown supervillainy and somehow his actions continue to be tolerated. How is this psychopath IMMUNE TO CONSEQUENCE no matter how horrific his actions?
