Anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) claimed she knows climate change is a liberal scam because it’s actually God who controls the weather

“God controls the climate because he controls the sun and the sun controls the weather, primarily,” Miller said in a video decrying Green New Deal initiatives

“Climate change is a sham,” she also said, echoing sentiments she has long been spreading (a 2024 video shows Miller referring to the “communist environmental movement” and the “green bad deal”)[…]
Earlier this year, Miller referred to trans Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE) as a “gentleman” while calling on her to deliver a speech on the House floor. Miller later bragged about misgendering McBride

Miller has a history of extreme statements. In 2022, she hailed the Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade by saying that it was a “victory for white life”

She later walked back the statement, saying that she had just accidentally mispronounced the phrase “right to life”

A year prior, Miller drew national attention when she praised Adolf Hitler for being “right” about the need for conservatives to indoctrinate children[…]
That same year, Miller introduced an anti-trans bathroom bill in Congress. It was the first bill she ever introduced, and she said that it would fight “radical gender ideology” being pushed “on our children”
