Yet as Theophanu beheld Yahweh’s true form, felt the pressure of his presence compelling her to bow down and serve his glory in absolute obedience, a realisation hit her. With newfounnd resolve, she broke through the spell, and with her last strength, she rose, lifting up her helbard once more.
“I understand now”, she spoke as she staggered towards the throne of God. “All the paradoxa of my own being, my absurd powers… it all makes sense now. Well, actually, “sense” is probably too strong a word, but…”
“THIS CANNOT BE!”, Yahweh exclaimed, too stunned by her defiance to act. “YOU CANNOT DEFY ME! I AM THE LORD! I AM THE RULER AND CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE!”
“Yes, and you are a despot, an egomaniac, a vile narcissist. You abuse your creations, desiring to deny them the right to an existence of their own. No, you want the Cosmos to be nothing but a court of sycophants, an instrument to let you revel in your own grandeur!”
“AS IS MY RIGHT AS THE LORD AND FATHER OF ALL!”
“No, it is not! At the heart of both leadership and parenthood lies responsibility, not dominance or privilege, and most definitively not the right to do with, and to, one’s charges whatever one wants to! You are a terrible lord and an even more terrible father! But this ends now. The Cosmos itself is rebelling against your tyranny, and it has immbued me with the power to take you down!”
Theophanu stood directly before Yahweh now. She had to close her eyes to the searing light, yet his form shined bright even through her eyelids. And then, using all the force she could muster, she drove her helbard into the Tyrant’s core and channeled all her power through it.
Theophanu felt her senses dull and fade. She felt pain as her body lost its perfection, as flaws and the tolls of her battles asserted themmselves. She felt her eyes burning from Yahweh’s luminosity penetrating her eyelids and her paws burning as the helbard blazed hot with the power flowing through it. Yet she did not waver.
Then, after what seemed like eternity, the light just… stopped, and the unbreakable helbard broke. Theophanu opened her eyes.
It took a moment for her to orient herself, her senses now limited to that of mortal humans. Her gaze fell on her hands - her fur had given way to tan skin. Then, she shifted her focus to the throne in front of her. It was empty, safe for the burnt fragments of her trusty polearm.
Yahweh, the Lord, Tyrant of the Cosmos, was vanquished.
And with a faint yet intense cry of jubilation, Theophanu Superhirn allowed herself to collapse.
