Last month, two far-right activists appeared on the "Reformation Red Pill" podcast to discuss the topic of "which political issue should be more important to American Christians: Abolishing abortion or deporting all the illegals?"

The participants were Colorado pastor J. Chase Davis and the president of Foundation to Abolish Abortion Bradley Pierce and the discussion was hosted by Christian nationalist Joshua Haymes of Pilgrim Hill Reformed Fellowship, a far-right church located outside of Nashville, TN, that is aligned with far-right pastor Douglas Wilson and counts Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth as a member

Near the end of the debate, Haymes took questions from viewers, including one who asked, "If you thought that abolishing abortion would lead to a civil war, would you still support it?"

Davis, who had argued throughout the podcast that deporting immigrants is the most pressing current issue, asserted that he would "probably not" support abolishing abortion if it caused a civil war

"A civil war in America would be disastrous," Davis said. "I don't think it's the most prudential way to go about solving these issues"

Pierce, who had argued that completely abolishing abortion should be the main priority for Christians today, did not share Davis' qualms

"I would absolutely," Pierce said when the question was posed to him. "To me it's a the results are in God's hands kind of thing. I believe that God demands us to do this and we should do it. I'm not saying that we are ignorant of the consequences, or we don't make provision where lawful for those things. But I'd say if that's what God chose to bring about from doing our duty before him, then that's up to him"
