“This is full-bore socialism on the march in the House,” he said. “And yeah, as long as I’m the majority leader of the Senate, none of that stuff is going anywhere.”

Mitch McConnell has effectively set himself up as the Veto of the House… even though he’s in the Senate and the two chambers aren’t supposed to mess with each other like that. Since most things have to go through both of them, it basically McConnell’s way or nobody’s. It’s not even clear if Trump can be impeached, as he absolutely cannot legally prevent that but it’s not clear anyone can stop him, or effectively punish him before he leaves office.
Also, anything less than the most extreme conservatism, the kind favored by less than a quarter of the population, and even some Trumpers wouldn’t go for, is “socialism”. Isn’t life wonderful?
Why do you hate Freedom , Bitch... er, I mean Mitch?!
Because when Bozo the Clown royally fucks up in the next five months, he'll be handing the keys of No. 10 to the Socialist Jeremy Corbyn.
And you know what that means to your Orange Clown, re. the 'Special Relationship'.
So frankly, you'd better be praying to whatever deity you have - Donald Fart or God - that the Democrats win next year.
Huh....? More like, I don't want /certain/ people to have representation in Congress, right?
@SpukiKitty :
I doubt McConnell has anything to worry about in 2020 as far as his reelection goes. And I wouldn't count on the Democrats winning control of the Senate either. Trump may lose, but I didn't think he'd win in 2016, so...
How is granting statehood to people who already pay taxes into the government "socialism"? If anything, it's the most American thing to do, since a major reason for the Revolutionary War was taxation without representation .
These idiots aren't even pretending to know their US history anymore. Ugh.
Confused?
