The weird thing about some of these kooky conspiracy theories is that there is a kernel of truth to them… it’s just that who the real players are is what’s in dispute.
There is a secret cabal of wealthy people screwing up the planet… except they’re Big Business companies behind Big Fossil, Big Weapon, Big Lumber, Big Whatever, etc. and not superhuman, unstoppable Jewish Devil Lizard things.
There is an NWO… but it is… again, the above Business Fat Cats.
Remove the Judeophobia and the “Bankers / Stockbrokers” thing is pretty much the truth. Those idiots at Wall Street often see themselves as a bunch of Gordon Geckos.
Since the Illuminati was the name of an old 18th Century club that was Pro-Enlightenment and Anti-Monarchy and often blamed for Progressive change, wouldn’t it make more sense to think of them as THE GOOD GUYS? Heck! I’d love a Good Guy secret cabal to be around to counter the Bad Guy secret cabal.
I have this weird quasi-fictional headcanon of the heroic Illuminati duking it out against the villainous New World Order.
Perhaps the above reframing of all this conspiracy silliness can be used to counter the conspiracy silliness and / or channel it into something more useful or truthful, ya think?
Conspiracists are gonna conspiracy so why not steer it towards real conspiracies?
