Whether you suffer eternal punishment or not has nothing to do with what you DO; it has everything to do with what you ARE.You are not a sinner because you sin; you sin because you are a sinner.
Sin is the rejection of God - rejection of His life, His goodness,His will, His gifts, His creation of you - in preference for your own will. He alone is creative, therefore, to prefer your own will is to prefer destruction. God does not send people to Hell because they were "bad"; He sends you to Hell because that's what you chose. You reject Him who is Light, therefore He gives you darkness; you reject Him who is joy, therefore He gives you sorrow; you reject Him who is love, therefore He gives you hatred; you reject Him who is your gracious Creator, therefor He gives you eternal separation from Him....an eternity of loneliness. You wanted an existence where you were your own god, so He gives you that; you can have all of eternity to try to create your own universe.

But you would still have to be able to choose not to sin, otherwise god would definitely be both a hypocrite and evil, seeing as he creates people who can not not sin, then punishes them for it.
Oh sorry, forgot that the god you seem to believe in IS petty and cruel and absolutely horrific. Guess I’d probably hope to be rejected by him in that case.
If I’m a sinner, it’s because I was created as sinful. Blame the creator.
He alone is pretty bumbling in his creation. Our eyes are back-to-front while octopuses’ are not.
HE created the darkness, and HE created Evil.
We don’t REJECT any gods, we just don’t see any evidence for the existence of any gods.
We wanted an existence where there is no cancer, no viruses, and no parasites eating their way out of the eyes of children. Can he give us that?
God (to Hitler, who has applied for transfer from hell): "That you didn't do as I said back then!"
Hitler (really nervous): "What..what do You mean?"
God: "Why didn't you become an artistic painter ?"
Hitler: "Well..I tried, but..I didn't get the hang of it, it didn't turn out any good, so...I had to try something else!"
God: "Yeah, I know I have given you free will and..I alone know how often I've regretted that, but...I guess I'll have to take the blame for that one Myself!"
Question! If god didn’t want us to choose sin (even involuntary), why did god create sin and choice in the first place? It’s simple, really. You can’t have free will and no evil at the same time. And if god was too stupid to realize that, then he’s not worthy of worship to begin with.
has nothing to do with what you DO; it has everything to do with what you ARE.
To paraphrase Dumbledore: It’s our choices that makes us who we are, not what we are born as. Choke on that!
You are not a sinner because you sin; you sin because you are a sinner.
That doesn’t even make sense! If we only sin because we were born sinners, it’s because god made us that way. So, QED, god makes us sin! And then he punishes us for it! How evil is that!?
Josh Buggar. Roy Less .
So much for the whole 'Salvation' thing, never mind 'Free Will(y)'.
Those two previously 'Saved' Christains waved theirs around with abandon - and in the worst ways imaginable - so the whole 'Sin' thing is completely moot, never mind the BS concept you're pushing, OP.
After all: what was it a certain man said to a woman after saving her from a mob as judgemental as you: and therefore why the whole concept of 'Sin', never mind 'Free Will' never had the right to exist in the first place...?!
Because mess-rs Buggar & Less have committed so many, there's none left for anyone else.
… has nothing to do with what you DO; it has everything to do with what you ARE.
Right!
Because what you DO has nothing to do with who you ARE.
Meanwhile, back in reality, splitting invisible hairs won’t produce a good excuse. If you think you can hide behind a fake front, you’re wrong. Your actions reflect who you are.
Merely because you call your deity something, does not make him such. Your god is a brutal, dictatorial, petty monster, who can’t fucking stand to see those who fought and lost their extremities in his name, in his own church. Sends fucking bears to maul some poor kids to death, cause they had the audacity to crack some jokes about a guy’s bald scalp. Creature like that has nothing to do with love, joy(at least any other kind than being a joyful slave) or indeed creativity, something of which we are fully capable as a species, kinda reason why we have our civilization in the first place, again, you just saying things and attributing them to a described and known entity, you remind me of those old timey star wars imperial fans, way before the first prequels even appeared and how they were desperately trying to make Palpatine sound like a good guy in the story, as czechians tend to say: To se ne vratit.
@Anon-e-moose : I would argue that there’s a place for the idea of “sin”, albeit in Granny Weatherwax’s terms (i.e. treating people as things). But no right for the concept of Free Will to exist? How, exactly, is it right and proper for us to be shackled to Fate/Destiny/Determinism/other-term-of-choice in the first place?! (Never mind that if Fate is absolute, then we can’t avoid treating the gestalt universe as guilty of all evil. I’m not exactly fancying going any sort of Gnostic…)
Confused?
