In contrast, the autogynephilic straight guy look is more of a-simple-strand-of-tasteful-real-pearls modeled after their mothers, who were typically respectable bourgeois ladies.

Wow, throwing together and confusing drag queens and cross dressers with transpeople is disingenuous as hell. These are NOT the same things at all. There might be a fetish of autogynephilia in the form of men being sexually aroused by dressing and acting as women (I guess). And you know, just like any other fetish that is consensual and doesn’t hurt anyone that is absolutely fine. It is NOT some sort of attack on women, just like a fetish for muscles is not an attack on bodybuilders. You know what it also isn’t? The goddamn same thing as being trans! Someone with a fetish isn’t mentally ill (and neither are transpeople), and they wouldn’t usually start changing their entire personality outside of the bedroom around it. More importantly, autogynephiliacs are not turned on by the fact that they actually want to be woman and they certainly wouldn’t have reason to identify as such. This borders on blood libel both for people who actually have this fetish AND transpeople, because for me it seems obvious what the goal of this is: describing both as some form of sexual assault by mentally unhinged people on women. Which is freaking disgustimg. And of course transmen (once again ignored by the OP, sadly not by TERFs in general) are not fetishists but ‘poor mislead girls who were talked into wanting to escape womenhood’, because just like homophobes ignoring lesbians since they don’t neatly fit into the ‘disease spreading, anal sex focussed homosexual’stereotype, this is all about sexualizing the issue and dragging identities down to alleged perversions, specifically misandrist views of men being basically rape machines who can’t keep themselves under control and are always this close to abusing women (with transpeople being one way to achieve that according to the TERFs). Again, there’s a large difference between trying one’s mother clothes and feeling a female.
