Canada failed in its duty, Trudeau says as parliament holds special debate on residential school mass grave

It is really a “mass grave” or is it many separate graves created over many years? This occurred in a different time and no matter how wrong it is now, deaths from TB and other diseases many years ago were much more common than they are now. Terrible situation, but not genocide

Fact:
Duncan Scott ran the residential schools in Canada for the federal government. Dr. Peter Bryce was hired to evaluate the schools in 1902. He found the conditions deplorable and subhuman. He made a list of recommendations for necessary changes. Scott rejected them all.

Truth & Reconciliation Com. held at least 3,200 children died at the Schools; one in every 50 students of the program’s nearly 120-year existence. The true # is likely as high as 6,000. TB was primary cause, but the Schools were hotbeds, given cramped conditions & negligence

But you also shouldn’t act like what happened in those residential schools wasn’t bad because the children there weren’t white.

Identifying yourself as a fictional species subjected to the evils of slavery and repeatedly dismissed in their universe as animals despite clearly being intelligent - to the point of inventing iconic energy weapons and being competent engineers on spacefaring vessels - but taking a dismissive racist stance on uncomfortable facts displays a severe deficit of self awareness that further disqualifies your egotistical pretensions of intellectualism and is another sad example of how racists ruin everything for everybody.

Furthermore your attempts to downplay and suggest what you think is a more palatable fiction for the bodies runs into some immediate problems after a split second of thought, the first and foremost being that the government had no idea they were there and were not informed of any deaths which they need to be even for people who are not made into wards of the state. There aren't supposed to be graves at all on the grounds of what we're sadly insisting on calling schools much less unmarked and unrecorded ones. Graves for children hastily and falsely shrugged off as runaways when their whereabouts were called into question, whose families never learned their fates let alone given the chance to claim their remains. No grave, mass or otherwise, is made with such deliberate secrecy and covered up with further lies without it being to hide a crime.

So it's a-ok for a school to just toss a bunch of dead children into unmarked graves as long as it's not all at once? Is that seriously their argument?

Did you know boarding schools who just bury their dead pupils in unmarked graves instead of sending the coffin to the families? And were the families even informed about their children’s deaths?
