Barack Obama : The catastrophic fires in Australia are the latest example of the very real and very urgent consequences of climate change. It’s on us to stay focused and protect the one planet we’ve got for the next generation.
Patriotic Veteran : The fires were started by arsonists, arsonists who were protesting against the non-believers of the #ClimateCrisisHoax Thank God we have @realDonaldTrump who will serve #4MoreYears #GodBlessAmerica #GodBlessAustralia

So if the OP wanted to make the ‘patriotic veteran’ (why this damn adoration for veterans when it comes to politics anyways? Fighting in a war or having been a soldier in general doesn’t make you more knowledgable about climate, social or financial policies, I would even argue that the opposite is true) sound like the rational person of the two, he has failed miserably. Could be a poe.
Meanwhile, here in Northern Germany near Hamburg, we are halfway through the winter and it has not snowed even once. I cannot recall ever experiencing a White Christmas and it's never been a region known for heavy rainfalls, but December and January always had several days with snowflakes tumbling down merrily. But not this year...
In southern Germany, I do remember having white christmas 10 years ago or so. But the last few years, Christmas has been rather warm. Last year, it snowed exactly once, and melted right away. Hasn't snowed since.
Now, we usually get a few weeks of cold winter with snow in February.
edit: I meant "this winter until new year", not "last year". Forgot that January and February are part of last year, too...
In case anyone forgot, there are at least 63 million of these useless imbeciles shambling around, & they are a reliable voting bloc. The right wing owns & controls them completely, & is well funded. This is what we’re up against-cult members that are impervious to reason & serve absolutely no purpose other than to fuck everything up.
Last weekend, in the middle of January in central Jersey, it was 71 degrees & I went to lunch in a t shirt. That is unheard of.
In northern Mississippi, it has snowed only one day this season, and that didn’t sit for even a day. A few years ago, it snowed a few times over a couple weeks and sat on the ground for most of those two weeks. Before that, nothing for years more. Despite when my father was growing up here, it would snow and stay on the ground every year. Interesting, if there’s climate change, for sure.
It reached 90 fucking degrees ferinheight in Anchorage Alaska last summer. It NEVER reached that temperature in recorded history before. My father had to go to the hospital for heat stroke and he almost died.
Dont you DARE tell me there's no climate change.
@Creativerealms
Some of them for sure - others were started by lightning strikes.
There are two factors at play here - one is the fact that it’s as hot and dry as fuck over here, and the strong winds don’t exactly help.
The other is that (and at this point I’d like to point out that I am a greenie) the environmentalists have curbed controlled burning so the amount of dead wood built up.
Confused?
