so sick of gendies using greek mythology to “prove” that trans people have always been there. first of all, they’re fictional stories. second of all, sex change in greek mythology is usually a punishment, or it’s a way that two same-sex partners can get married.

Gendies? I guess it's supposed to be a slur for trans people? But I think it's kinda cute. Whatever, I guess I'm a gendie?
And, are there really a lot of people using Greek myths as an example of trans people in history? I've never heard about that. Better to point out the many real documented examples of cultural acceptance of non-cis gender categories.
If it was just myth, you’d have a point about being cautious about reading a too-modern interpretation of them.
It’s not just myth. I’m aware of the cults of Bacchus and Cybele, which were big with gender-variant people of all stripes, as well as the “Apollo sometimes gets drunk and puts souls in the wrong bodies” thing which people probably would not come up with and joke about for generations just to be randomly silly. There’s probably more that I’m not aware of, this isn’t my wheelhouse. It’s not even just Greek either; a wide variety of past cultures offer ample evidence that, even if most of them didn’t have direct equivalents of the word “transgender”, it would be a severe stretch to explain away everything in a nice neat cishet manner.
First of all, gendies is really cute. Makes me think of genies. Second of all, I don't think I've ever heard anyone refer to Greek mythology as proof that trans people have always existed. The fact that all cultures (as far as I know) are aware of the phenomenon is proof enough.
Gendies?
They're really reaching the fufu the fluffy kitten level of trying to figure out a way to slur people with different gender identities.
It's probably to my discredit that I can think of about 10 different slurs that would cut far deeper than that.
I wonder if this means some of them aren't even trying anymore? That would be a nice change.
Gendies
...just like 'Normies' is apparently an insult.
When they're reduced to this, the likes of the OP show how impotent they are.
Certainly in more ways than one.
According to Urban Dictionary, a gendy is "A square, or a person who is regarded as dull, rigidly conventional, and out of touch with current trends."
Confused?
