We had been concerned about our much-loved dog being cared for when we leave in the Rapture. Bailey was only seven and in good health when he just upped and died on us the other morning. He died quickly and peacefully with the family surrounding him, but when we started questioning why it happened (as we all do, even though it all ends with "blessed be the name of the Lord"), we remembered the rapture connection. Suddenly we felt like the rapture was going to be very soon and God was sparing us the worry.
It just seems weird that we've been praying for Bailey to have a long and healthy life and then he just drops dead!! Could be the devil just making us miserable, but God could've spared him, so since we believe it's God's will that he died, we don't want to get another dog. Hopefully and just maybe, we'll see Bailey again someday!! But, hmmm, get ready everyone!!

What the intention of freedom of religion in the Constitution was
Freedom of religion was in regards to the true and living God of the Bible and that everyone had a right to worship Him in the way they felt or saw fit. Not about all other pagan religions that exist out there. If our founding fathers
could have forseen this day they would have elaborated more in the US Constitution as to what religions they meant and which ones they didn't. So as to try and keep Christianity as the only religion with it's many different types as the only thing, and not all these pagan religions who worship the Earth, the sun, moon, and the stars. Sadly we are as we are.

I really have to wonder if they understand just what it is they are copying and pasting. I've occasionally read through some of that garbage, and it is so redundant and full of holes. They think that just because they use a few big words, that all of us will necessarily be hopelessly confused and taken aback. It's like they're convinced that we're half illiterate or something.
My close friend has read Twilight, as did my older daughter. My friend said it was no big deal, but she is in her 40's. My daughter called it dumb. I would rather she had not succumbed to such trash.
For me, when people ask "have you read it?" my response is that I have read many reviews, done my research, and decided that it would not be pleasing to God. If it is a book, such as The Shack or the DaVinci Code, which twists the truth about the character of my God I would absolutely never read it. People who ask that question are typically trying to catch you, because then they reply that if you haven't read it you cannot make an intelligent assessment. Hogwash!

I have never liked the idea of "forbidden fruits". The extreme view would be "let the try everything so they will know what they are missing." My sister raised 5 girls under very strict conditions, but with love, and today they are all married, very well adjusted girls, and all have a close walk with the Lord. Also they are grateful that they were shielded from the ugliness of the world.

I agree. It's not the anime specifically, but the distraction caused by it. It's a preference thing. Personally, I think the internet is the common factor. For one who is really into anime, the internet is a great place to get at some of the more obscure titles. We, because of Satan, are a common target amongst atheists on the internet.
So, you could say that Atheists + anime + internet = RR trolls. Of course that's a sweeping generalization that isn't going to be true 100% of the time, but it seems a logical explaination in my mind anyway.
I have always been afraid of Muslims. I remember the last time I flew (in '89 I think) I was on the plane and 2 men were sitting I think across the aisle talking in a foreign language. I was terrified that they were hijackers, and I was almost in tears the whole flight. In retrospect I think they may have been speaking French. But it was so scary for me at the time....

The events that happen in the tribulation will NOT be explainable by science, it will be by the Hand of God. The worldwide earthquakes will not have any good scientific reason behind them.
Certainly the tribulation is so close, that global warming will not have the time to manifest. God will cause a third of the stars to fall, bring the sun closer to the earth to bake it in heat---that will melt the ice, not man made warming.

I suspect that our founding fathers would be just as outraged at this event as we are. Yes, I mean the ones who amended the constitution to include freedom of religion. I bet they never imagined that world travel would skyrocket the way it has in the centuries since they lived. I don't think it occurred to them that there would be such an enormous (and fast growing!) population of people in the USA, most of whom also call themselves American, who worship what the Bible clearly identifies to be a false god. I think our founding fathers had in mind that freedom of religion pertained to your choice of whether to be a Mennonite or a Quaker or even a Catholic. I think they took completely for granted that this is and will always be a Christian nation, as it was when they founded it.

I looked on the Chick website recently and apparently you have to pay a bundle to get the tracts shipped to you by Halloween. We can't really afford it, so I am going to try to find a Christian book store around here that sells Tracts or something. I'm truly upset. My 21 year old DD is reading these books [twilight series] after watching the Twighlight movie 3 times. She's becoming obsessed with this stuff and she sees nothing wrong with it. We just had a (loud) discussion about it and even though she agrees that it isn't something that Jesus would approve of, she said she's still going to read it. Blatently snubbing God!
I'm very upset. She has no idea what she's setting herself up for. The thing that really upsets me is that she is NOT a reader. I've only known her to read books for school projects and then one other novel. She never read the bible on a regular basis, but she stayed up lastnight (on a work night) until 5:30 this morning reading that book!!
I really hate this world. Sin is so destructive and my step son is deep in it and it is getting real bad. Tonight he came to my house and brought a man with him that berated my wife and I because we are trying to help my step son out of the homosexual life. It got so bad I felt our lives were in danger and had to produce my revolver (which I hated to do). This man put 3 men in the hospital the other night and he is former 82nd airborne and I am a heart patient and so I felt letting him know I would use my gun might keep him at bay. I think it must have worked, but he was not very afraid.

I'll begin this little tale by saying that my daughter is interested in learning sign language. So....I went online and found out that a University on the other side of our state has a "chimposium", where the chimps actually communicate through signing. Brilliant! I scheduled an appointment time and in the weeee hours a couple of days later we jumped in the car and headed off on our 5 hour journey to chimpville.
This is where it all begins. Our group consisted of about 25 people and we were led into a classroom for about 25 minutes of "education" about the chimps. We were told how we, as humans, branched off from the chimps approx. 7 million years ago. Oh boy, I thought....what have I done? Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, we were then told that before we could go into the viewing room, we would need to hunch over and stick out our lower jaw to make the chimps feel more at ease. Oh golly, this was not looking good. But in the name of amusement, we laughed to ourselves and went forward into the land of Uncle Bob. And let me tell ya, they were not happy to see us (senile I think).
The chimps only knew certain words to sign. One of them kept signing the word "black" which we were told was his way of saying "cool". What? Again I'll say it, what? These poor little guys were angry and expressed it quite well. Apparently, they weren't happy to see their long lost relatives and the progress we've made. "But Uncle Bob, it's me!" I kept muttering under my breath. Nothing. Not a single ounce of recognition. No signing "I love you" or "I've missed you, where have you been?". Wow! That's all I can say, too much time had passed.
On a more serious note, my heart ached for the young college kids involved in this program who are being brainwashed into thinking this garbage. Help me to lift them up in prayer, that their eyes, hearts, minds and spirits will be open to the truth!

1 Cor. 11:14 says that it is a disgrace for a man to have long hair. For the most part I agree. So then why? Because the church is operating today in a state of disgrace and does not even see it.
Let me explain. The church has been here in New England from its conception, and New England is considered an unreached people group by many mission organizations.
The church for the most part has become impotent (the church, not Christ). This is the greater disgrace. So in keeping with Numbers 6:5, I have made a vow before God that no razor shall touch my hair until the church is revived and is moving with the presence of God to do His will on earth as it is in Heaven. The world does not need a new definition of Christianity; it needs a new demonstration of it. So when the church looses its disgrace, I can loose my disgrace, and with joy shave my head clean.

I'm not too keen on the Sinaiticus's accuracy (or the Codex Vaticanus, or the dead sea scrolls for that matter).
It maybe one of the oldest bible texts, but it resembles more of a first draft than anything due to all the insertions and omissions. It doesn't even agree with other scripts that are considered very old (and even those other scripts don't agree with each other).
The only reason I think there are occasional pieces are found else where is because they needed the scrap parchment. [...]
Why isn't there any super old texts of the bible that closely match today's King James bible or the Textus Receptus (which there is not longer a copy of)?
It is said either the Textus Receptus was lost, or never was a single document, but rather a consensus of trusted translated scripts which consisted of the majority of texts found with very little variation minus any printing errors that may have occured as printing was a new technology (which is about 95% of old texts avalaible).
Even so, if the original was really lost, we shouldn't despair, as the copies or related texts are essentially the same due to the copying method. The oldest text is not needed for validation of the bible.
The problem is, people and some bible scholars don't recognize this, so they take the oldest script they can possibly find, fill in the missing places with other scripts to formulate their new translations of the bible or use it to prove the bible's validity, but get stuck when people say the old version isn't the same as newer scripts or evidence for X religion is still much older.
Why do these old erroneous scripts still exist? Why are they more likely to be kept? For the same illogical reasoning above. They don't realize the power in the copying method used. So when they come across something "different" they try to preserve it, whether it be hiding it in a library hundreds of years ago, or archeologists and librarians finding it now.
The only thing the Codex Sinaiticus proves is that bible did exist back then.

All, I have a terrible problem. I just started a new church and now I'm confronted with a big problem. One of the small group leaders is a woman I know from my neighborhood. She has been a member of this church for a long time and heads up a couple ministries. She is apparently one of those that works hard all the time for the church and is well thought of. Unfortunantly I know that she is gay. She has a lover that stays over at her house often, and I've personally seen unacceptable and disgusting behavior. It's pretty common knowledge in the neighborhood that these two women are lovers. How it is that her church doesn't know I can't imagine. She must be very discreet. Anyway, what in the world should I do? I don't want to gossep and I certainly don't want to be responsible for decention in the church. Do I tell the pastor? Tell her that I know? Send and anonamous message to the pastor? Somehow I don't think I'd be very popular for disclosing this, it's a hard place for a new member. Should I just quietly find a new church? I really liked this place, the message was wonderful and the people so loving. What should I do?

Actually this is one of the ways Hitler gained so much power. He brainwashed the youth and pretty soon he had his loyal followers everywhere as the kids grew up.
This fits right in with the worry that the "shadow government" of czars Obama is building will be able to take control of the whole country before the 2012 elections. He is having ACORN take over the census. That will give him the power to use his goons to skew the redistricting in his favor. He is doing so many things to consolidate his power that if he is not stopped soon he will soon be unstoppable.
But will he, in this internet savvy age, be able to pull it off. Will the states themselves secede or overthrow the government? There are signs that over half of the states are already getting ready to go head to head with the federal government if it becomes neccessary.
But however it works out do remember that it is all a part of God's perfect plan; we just may not like it but we won't be able to change it if it is what God wills.
In all seriousness though, it seems that Obama will be trading the CIA in for his brown shirts. They wont be questioning Muslim terrorists, but they will start gathering Christians and other "right wing extremists" to question them. He has to make up groups that he controls, because he can't have any that answer to someone else. It's just like all these czars he's making that only answer to him. He wants absolute control.

Sometimes when my atheist friend and I would be watching television, a commercial for one of those ghost hunting shows would come on. Now I know that the things that go bump in the night arent deceased people but that they are actually demonic activity so I know that most of those shows feature real supernatural activity but the people seeking after it just have no idea of how serious it really is But anyway my atheist friend would always laugh and scoff at those shows and in my head I would always think Man! I wish a demon would come in here and throw some plates or something right in front of his face so then at least he would know that there is more to this world than meets the eye and than I could lead him to Christ much easier!
