learning to survive requires intelligence. A person who is a "vegetable" doesn't possess inteligence. They do not posses the ability to survive. A respiratior can make them breathe, they can be fed by an IV. but they no longer posses the intelligence to survive. So left alone, they'd die. Same with that immaginary first lifeform.

I have been witnessing to people since the mid 60's (jostling with the Hara Krishnas at the airport as a teenager) and I have noticed a real hardening of hearts. Back then, most people would at least politely listened to what you had to say before saying no thanks and many would actually ask questions.
Today, I find that people are either condescendingly patronizing or have a vitrolic hatred towards God and the Bible. Family members that at least would engage in dialogues in the past have become so vilolently opposed to it that physical assault is an acutally danger.

I can tell I am growing closer to Christ because this world just makes me sick. I really can't tolerate it anymore.
A thought did cross my mind today though. Since God is Holy and cannot fellowship with us when we sin and Jesus is God, how did he hang out with sinners?
I've known for quite a bit of my life that God has blessed me with the gift of discernment. I am able to immediately tell if someone near me or in my presence is evil. My daughter, now 20, is also blessed with this gift. Once I pray for someone that the enemy is preying on, the spiritual battle begins. I have literally fought demons and wrestled them in my "sleep". My husband has woken me up out of concern when this occurs. My daughter has the same issues. Although, we are always victorious in these battles simply by using the pure name of Jesus, it is exhausting. Does anyone else deal with this?
We are both so sensitive to spiritual warfare going on around us that many times, we just have to leave wherever we are. It becomes unbearable. I always pray for the protection of my family, etc. before going into prayer for someone that I know is struggling with the enemy. I knew the enemy quite well when I was young, he used to visit me nightly before I knew anything of Christ. I thank God for the power of Jesus and the fact that I know the truth about the devil.
An interesting note, my daughter is a Biblical Studies Major and she tells me that it is extremely rare for the subject of spiritual warfare to even come up in class. Actually, from what she tells me, she is the only one of the group in her department that she knows of that has had dealings with it. I'm just really curious as to whether or not anyone here has had personal experience with this as well.

I believe sometimes God gives us what we deserve. One of the most disturbing commercials to me was an abortion commercial with a woman whining that "Romney is going to take away our Constitutional Rights ... including a woman's right to choose". Since when has abortion become a constitutional right? I somehow doubt that the Founding Fathers would approve. How sad is it when the "right" to kill a baby in the womb is a huge dividing line in an election. We have moved far away from God as a Nation, and with it goes His blessings. Sometimes God give us what we deserve.
Years ago on a family vacation, my son-in-law had a pillow pushed against his face during the night as if in attempt to suffocate him. No one else was in the room. He had to struggle to push the pillow away.
At that time, there is no doubt that he was the member of our family who had the closest walk with the Lord.
Later I found out that the house we were vacationing in was owned by atheists who were also nudists.
There was a presence in the house that did not want a godly young man there.
I was talking to a couple of people a few weeks ago and they told me, "I only believe what I see and feel and what science tells me".
I said, "science used to say that the Earth was flat, and the Bible said it was round". That usually stumps them every time.
And I show them the fallacy of they only, "believe what they can see". I tell them they had faith that when they came into our building today, they faithfully thought, through no proof, that the building would stand while they were in it. That they had faith, in a builder of the building, they have never met, to have designed and built a building that would stand when they always needed the building to stand. Faith in an unknown/unseen creator.
One guy said, but it was still standing and I said that the people in Haiti said the same thing the morning of the earthquake and found that their faith in the buildings standing while while they were in it, were not justified. And their faith in a building they could see, was misplaced.
They had no comeback. Not even weeks later.
I showed a woman in the group one of WOTM "good person" tracts, and she said, "at least I have not killed anyone". And I asked her if she was sure, because God's standard is that, if you hate someone, you have murdered them. She was shaken when I explained God's standards and how they were not human standards.
I plant seeds all the time.
This past week I saw a bumper sticker on a car that read "In Case of the Rapture, Can I Have Your Car"
I did a double and triple take to make sure that I was reading it correctly! Since then I have been trying to figure out what message this idiot is trying to send. Is this an atheist making fun of the Rapture? Are they just caught up in sin that deep that they know that they are not going to make the Rapture? Is this a Muslim thing?

I have found that analytical people (like me) can raise a pretty high wall against the truth of the Lord’s Word.
One way to help them to hear His Word is to put a couple of plausible cracks in that wall.
Pre-med students should understand that it is impossible for amino acids to form proteins in the presence of oxygen so there must have been no oxygen in the atmosphere when the first proteins were formed.
In an atmosphere with no oxygen there is no ozone. With no ozone there is ultraviolet light bombarding the earth’s surface destroying anything that resembles proteins.
Therefore the only evolutionary conditions that would allow proteins to form would destroy them.
It requires a huge amount of faith to believe that this impossible situation would allow proteins to form. And even more faith to get random proteins to form cell structures and magnitudes more for these to form life.
There are many of these “Impossible Evolutionary Situations” available if required but the main point is:
They may be more open to a solution that doesn’t require such super human faith as evolution. Creation is a fantastic candidate. The love of God & gospel message soon follow.

I absolutely don't think the memories of those left behind will be wiped. A great delusion wouldn't be needed if that was the case.
An earthquake at the time of the rapture might serve as a delusion as the loss of millions could (falsely of course) be attributed to a natural event.
However, whatever the delusion, those left behind will experience, terror, horror, shock, despair, sorrow, anger, hatred and more, and that will just be the beginning. I mean, imagine if the rapture occurs during rush hour in North America?

• Airplanes, helicopters without pilots
• Trains, including subway, without engineers

You're barking up the wrong tree, Ace. The difference between Christianity and other "world religions" is significant and striking. Ever asked a Moslem what Mohammad has done for him today? (Answer: nothing, Mohammad is dead). Ever asked a Buddhist what Buddha has ever done for him? (Answer: nothing, Buddha is dead, too). Try asking a Christian what Jesus has done for them. Our God is alive. Jesus is alive. Jesus works in our daily lives, and we are a testament to Him. Other "religions" worship idols and dead people.
Here's just some of the things that Jesus has done for me:
- I have prayed for others and see real answers to those prayers, not just
a bunch of coincidental stuff.
- I have seen my children saved and brought to Christ. Not just one, but
all three.

But does planting trees help bring people to Christ? It's like going to third-world countries to feed the hungry. The future of this earth is destruction....You don't "Bring people to Christ" with inanimate objects. Masturbation is a type of adultery imho. Why? Because sex is supposed to be between a man and his wife; ONLY. With someone else, it's adultery even if that "someone else" is self.
My son, who is 15, has a school friend (same age, I believe) which he talks to and invites over frequently, and I am just fine with this. But recently I found out (from a parent) that this friend is gay.
The last thing I want is my son to be corrupted into homosexuality. Now my son has never given me reason to believe that he is gay, but it saddens me that I had to go to another parent for this information, instead of my son telling me. Plus, lately it seems that he has been distancing himself from me, so you can never be too careful.
So the last time the friend came over (a few days ago), I kindly asked him to leave my home. The friend complied, but needless to say my son was very frustrated with me. I told him that it was just something he'll understand when he gets older, and that he'll appreciate me doing this eventually. But despite this he was still angry (stubborn teenagers), but he'll come around eventually I hope. It's been a few days now and he still seems a little upset.
Do you think I did the right thing? We go to Church regularly, so I thought by now he'd know that homosexuality is a sin. What should I do if my son stays upset?

Unfortunately the "medical field" believes that preganancy is when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall. They are WRONG!
Life begins at conception, when the sperm and egg first meet. A new life immediately begins to form. This life must have nutrition, which the mother supplies through her body. Without nutrition, the new life starves to death. Just like when a newborn is first born, the life is there, but it will not sustain itself, it must have nutrition. ANY life must have nutrition to live and grow. If I take away your food, you will cease to grow and live and you will die. If a baby is born and you neglect to give it food, it will die. If an egg and sperm unite to form a new life and you neglect to feed it, it will die.
The morning after pill makes the uterine wall so hostile to the embryo that it can't attach itself, therefore it starves to death. It would be the same as someone cutting the umbilical cord to the baby growing inside of a woman. The baby would die without the nutrition provided.

You know those people who play LOUD obnoxious music around you? You have to hear cuss words sometimes, or whatever?
Well, I bought Ray Comfort's open air preaching CDs... it's a bunch of CDs and it has different times of him open airing over and over and over. Sooooooooo, I decided to throw it in the CD player, turn it up loud enough, and open my windows. LOL!!! It's not obnoxious sounding like the stuff you have to hear from cars and homes, but it gets the gospel out... I play it for about 1/2 hour a day or so... Christ is preached to my neighbors (they all have tracts and the ones who will let me witness have been witnessed to, so this is just an extra bonus for them!)
I know other people have WOTM stuff, wonder if you do the same?

Yesterday at Wal-Mart, my husband and I were standing in line and a little boy walked by the magazine stand and got all excited when he saw a picture of Obama on a magazine. He was screaming and smiling, "Look Mommy, Barack Obama! Barack Obama!"
Of course, me being who I am, saw the magazine...which said "Hope for America" and said at the top of my voice...."The ONLY hope for America is Jesus!" Unfortunately, all I got were some blank stares...sigh.
When a cultist approaches me and begins prostelytizing I do not allow them to waste their time or mine by debating.
Instead I politely present the Gospel in the simplest terms possible. I always emphasize how deeply Jesus loves them by sacrificing His life for them. This is usually when the "deer in the headlights" look appears but it's OK -- at least they heard what they needed to hear.
One thing I learned years ago is to NEVER allow cult members, New Age believers, or whatever to go on lecturing at length. We have the AUTHORITY in Christ to lovingly yet boldly cover over their blasphemies with His truth! (nodding smilie)
Lately I've noticed several products marketed with an emphasis on the color red--cell phones, Dell computer, the youth brigade jackets, a larger percentage of red in the new Pepsi logo--these are just a few products. I did a search on the Pantone website, the world's authority on color trends for the seasons, and there is NO red listed for spring.
This is no coincidence. Our current administration is implementing a a very subtle means of marketing their socialistic agenda. In a matter of time, we will see red as the primary color choice in our products. Perhaps we will be known as the "red shirts".

I'd go down to hobby lobby or something and get one of those cheap wooden boxes. Get a couple bibles for cheap from a thrift store and pack it in the box along with some aspirin, maybe headache medication, a first aid kit, a flashlight, and some camping rations from Wal-mart or something. You may also want to place a letter in there to the finder about what exactly happened. They need to know we were taken to Heaven, not "beamed up" or dissolved at an atomic level, like the media may try to tell them. Explain the 21 judgement about to hit the Earth as best you can, so as they happen, the finder can estimate what to do next. Be very real and honest in the letter, and explain that they must place their faith in Jesus Christ by confessing Him with their mouth, and that this faith will almost certainly cost them their life in about 3.5 years into the tribulation. Also refer to the sheep and goat judgement in case they might become doubtful and want to cut corners. Above all, implore them not to take the mark and exactly what will happen if they do. The finder will also need to learn how to hunt and fish in the wilderness to survive. They will not be able to buy or sell without the mark, so just waltzing into Burger King will be out of the question. I would also let them know they need to find a good hiding place in the wilderness somewhere, and bring a few people with them to evangelize and keep the faith until Jesus comes. Tell them that He is coming 7 years from the signing of the "peace treaty," and not to believe anything the anti-christ says.
If you do the above, I think the person who finds the box will be very well informed.

Athesit here have claimed that creation came into being because of a big bag, black hole, quantium whatevers, non-preexisting materials, aliens, and all types of what they admit are theories without a single shread of science or proof used to create them... At this point, I wonder if there is a shrink around that can explain how, during the course of evolution, the entire world got dropped on its head. This is exactly why the bible said you are without excuse.
