FFS went to the train station and asked for a ticket to Manchester today.
The pink haired, nose-ring wearing woman at the ticket office told me I had committed a microaggression and that it was "Personchester" now.
I wasn't in the mood to debate so I just played along and asked for a ticket to "Personchester".
She typed it into the system and surprise, surprise, no such station could be found.
I suggested she tried typing in "Manchester" and once again, I was warned not to commit any further microaggressions.
She called picked up her phone and asked if the "personager" could come down to fix the problem.
After repeatedly telling the person on the phone to stop committing microaggressions, the manager finally turned up to see what the problem was.
Predictably he told her to just search for "Manchester" as "Personchester" is not a real station.
As you might have guessed the woman was not satisfied with this and started accusing the manager of mansplaining (later self-corrected to "personsplaining").
By now the queue behind me had grown restless and I could hear people starting fights.
The manager, exhausted from arguing eventually knuckled under and phoned the Mayor of Manchester asking whether it was possible to officially change the name of the city to Personchester.
I briefly heard roaring laughter on the other end of the phone.
This would soon stop as soon as the pink haired woman started to speak and the Mayor realized she (or Xir as we were forced to call her) was being serious.
By now people were giving up and attempting to aboard the train without tickets in their masses.
Security guards were physically removing freeloaders from the train, whistles were blowing, attack dogs were running around the platform biting people, it was total chaos.
It was genuinely like being in the dead center of occupied Gaza or Malmo.
By now the woman was bare chested and holding up a placard saying "The Future Is Female" while the manager was curled up in the corner having a mental breakdown.
In the end I had to take several buses up to Manchester.
When I finally arrived at my location I was told I was 8 hours too late for the interview and that the job had already been assigned.
