The only reason there is a "Black Market" for HRT is because male twanny genders and the non binaries have depleted the supply of HRT for women.

And in the world where that’s true, these are true, too:

- There are only trans women, no trans men.

- There’s a species of moose that drinks blood, vampire moose. Classified as among the most dangerous - if not THE most dangerous - animals in the world.

- Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1970.

- There are plans for a UK £30 note, with a picture of Theresa May.

There is a rare condition called Body Integrity Identity Disorder which usually manifests as, for lack of a better way to put it, a sense of alienation from a particular body part or sensory organ offending member.

I first learned of the condition in 2015 when a woman named Jewel Shuping made international headlines by deliberately blinding herself with drain cleaner. I currently have a visual impairment, and so I was curious as to why someone would do this to herself intentionally.

It turns out people with this condition generally want to disable themselves from a young age that they might better fit their inner conception of selfdom.

Medical doctors and psychoanalysts do know...

* BIID is not a fetish coupled with a strong desire to be rid of the
* Evidence of this alienation from certain body parts can actually be detected in brain * Most of the people seeking surgical relief for BIID are, in all other ways, of sound mind

Transexuality is not disabling, unless one counts social stigma as a disability, but it does share characteristics with BIID in that...

* It's not a fetish
* It often appears in early childhood
* Affirmation surgery is often the only way to resolve it
* It's not a psychiatric disorder

The reason I'm bringing up BIID and transsexuality in the same post is because, since BIID hasn't been nearly so politicized or quite as demonized, maybe knowledge of its existence will help transphobes understand this need runs far more deeply than a simple fetish.

I've seen people in online discussions use what sounds like body integrity identity disorder as an argument against accepting trans people. It went something like, "if you think trans people should be allowed to cut off their dicks because they 'feel' like women, then what's next, letting people cut off their arms and legs because they 'feel' like amputees? We shouldn't enable this kind of self-harm."
