The only "cult" associated with trans people are the transphobes furious that the public hasn't succumbed to murderous hysteria despite all their efforts.
Bigots really do live in a fantasy world, where (1) ANY sort of diversity (race, religion, etc.) is a direct personal attack, and (2) everyone secretly agrees with their bigotry, but is too cowardly to say anything.

That’s just wrong. I’ve known transgender people, really more so online than in person (at least as far as I know LOL), but all of the trans people I’ve known or talked to were very definite on what their preferred pronouns are. If someone’s pronouns change frequently, then that’s what you’d call “gender-fluid”, but that’s kind of a subset of trans people, I guess.
5. “misgendering” and “deadnaming“: using her actual name and the pronoun of her actual sex
That’s a complaint from transphobes that actually really annoys me, the one about how they insist on calling trans people by their birth name. Because, OK, cisgender people change their names from their birth names sometimes, and I’ve never heard a transphobe complaining about that. Like if they’re for some reason talking about the 38th President of the US, they probably wouldn’t call him Lesley King Jr instead of Gerald Ford. I guess my point really is, if you’re gonna appoint yourself the “name police” be consistent, at least.
Tho, now that I think about it, it would have been kinda funny if we had a “President King” lol

It is truly infuriating, specially if you did have a legal name change. Hell, since my marriage I don’t even have my maiden last name anymore, if some idiot attempted to call me by my birth name the only thing he’d get is a lot of confusion…

Friend 9f mine brings uo trans issues on Facebook because she wanys others to know the harassment and oppression faced by transgender people but when we see eaxh other we talk metal, horror, tattoos, concerts
Had a conversation with one about BuzzBalls a couple of weeks ago (she and her mates were drunk and playing ‘flirt with the late-night security guard’), and also had a conversation last week about writing technique with another whom I know (who is a member of the writers’ group I lead in Tunbridge Wells).

I read the whole thing, and the entire argument is basically “trans narratives as created by the 1960s-1980s medical establishment don’t match the narratives as created by trans people on social media in the 2010s-2020s” and assuming that only the former is true, while the latter is social contagion. Well, okay, there’s also argument from incredulity, particularly the section on non-binary people.
And, more relevant to this post, there’s a general assumption that “the things which I (or the people I’m getting this stuff from) go out of my/their way to see, and the hypothetical horrors invented by conservative media, are all which exists”. It’s the sort of things which *could* mostly be dispelled by actually knowing a trans person… though more likely it would just get them labeled as “one of the good ones”. But since I note that this person appears to be associated with PITT, it’s extremely likely that their (seemingly reluctant) affirmation of the older concept of “transsexuals” would go out the window if it was someone they knew pre-transition.
The funniest part is the sole response to this essay, where someone claims that the label of “transphobe” is invalid because nobody identifies as one. [EDIT] I later went and looked at the link provided along with that assertion. And the essay in that link seems to be claiming that gender norms are not unreasonable and if you’re against people enforcing them, you’re “normophobic”. Meanwhile trans people aren’t reasonable so claiming anyone with an aversion to them is a transphobe is invalid. At least this one is aware that “-phobia” has long meant more than “fear”.
