I’m sure this take is already out there, but how libs are reacting to the Elon/Twitter thing is perfectly emblematic of their view of democracy: fewer voices, less transparency, less dissent, more concentrated control. When they say “democracy,” they just mean totalitarianism

Well, when you start getting harassed and try to report someone, guess what! Musk doesn’t give a shit.
He wants everyone on twitter to be as racist and sexist and ableist as they want. He doesn’t care about fake news or spreading misinformation. He doesn’t believe in free speech, he believes in consequence-free speech.
It is, of course, totally alarming that the Pharaoh of Mars can swing his dick and delete a person’s presence from the internet with no explanation whatsoever.
The irony is that this is the product of unregulated capitalism. Government oversight, AKA totalitarian socialism, would be the only way to stop Elon or Dorsey from just silencing whoever they don’t like.

That’s hilarious, considering the alt-Right’s response to the private company punishing Trump for violating the rules he agreed to follow. If it’s a bakery, take your business elsewhere, but if it’s Twitter that won’t be a platform, IT’S A GODDAMNED VIOLATION OF FREE SPEECH AAAAAUGH!
Grow up and get real.
I’m sure this lake is already the cut ore, but how bits are reacting to the Twin/Elotter thing is totally emblematic of their view of transparency: fewer voices, less democracy, less perfect, more coated dissent rent. When they say “My Car Code,” they just mean simian train control.

Yeah, to these people, free speech means everyone owes them a platform and is required to listen and not disagree. It does not occur or even matter to them that this violates everyone else’s free speech. Some of them even think that the first amendment is only for Christians and deliberately does not include Muslims or atheists. I doubt they think it includes Jewish people either. These people most likely don’t know that a number of the founding fathers were deists.
Confused?
