We should take Chanukah’s lesson to heart. Even though the forces ruling us want to drastically change society and replace God in our lives with the secular state and ever more ruthlessly impose godless secularism on us throughout society, do not give up. The battle is not lost. Seemingly impossible circumstances can and will be overcome with God's help.

That is God’s message to all of us: If you do your part, God will do His. But you must be willing to fight back. If the Maccabees hadn't stepped up, what would have happened?

That’s not what a “secular state” even means. That means a state that is NEUTRAL in matters of religion. That sounds like a pretty good thing to me, as an atheist, and even though you probably don’t believe it, actually helps you as well.

Again a difference in definitions, this time of secular.

Ordinary definition: “All matters non-religious, neutral on religion.”

Fundie definition: “Hostility to religion.”

This, I just do not get. If God is omnipotent and omniscient, then why does God NEED us to “do our part”? Why does God NEED us to pray? You’d think that if God so badly wants the USA to be a Christian nation then there is nothing we could do about it one way or another. And if the USA ISN’T a Christian nation, then obviously god couldn’t care less.

Seriously, can you think with your brain for once instead of your resisting ass?

Starmer himself stated he does not believe in God but does believe in faith and its power to bring people together

Probably because they’re so steeped in Manichaeanism that the very concept of Neutrality is to them not just impossible, but impossible to hold with any honesty. Indeed. I do sometimes get the feeling they think that the foremost point of every last bit of God creating was to establish as decisive a victory over Lucifer, with Eternity being about rubbing the victory in his face without cease.

(Reality for the sake of an unending Curb-Stomp. Yay. But looking at the adherents, there’s a question of how this inexhaustible malice could exist, or even come into being.)
