Pronouns are basically used to control other people's thought processes, to instill both a sense of fear (OMG, what if I misgender someone!) and a false sense of security in them (I respect their pronouns, that means I am a good and aware person and the twanzes see me as an ally).
Tbh, just dead name the people who cry about pronouns. The individuals who cry the most about pronouns and trans activism are always predatory people who just want control over the masses, especially people who they are politically against. When the "my body my choice" meme was going around, I made a post saying "My body YOUR choice I love men." just to meme and it pissed off a few thousand people to the point the "tolerant left" began making posts about how I should have my house broken into and how I should be brutally raped, over a post on the internet.

Did you get to read that essay that was being passed around some years ago titled "Pronouns are Rohypnol" or something to that effect? I think I still have the archived link somwhere, I'll look it up later.
