It always gets me when they argue that the woman has the right to choose, but they never understand that she already exercised that right by having sex. That is when the choice is made. Just like getting into a car and choosing to wear a seat belt or not- you don't get to choose after/ during a collision. We make choices and live with consequence. That's true in every aspect of life.
@n3r0wolfe
dont ever let one of these weirdos tell you "its just a fetus"
ask them what the definition of fetus is.. they wont know
but it comes from the greek (iirc) and it means 'unborn child'
@Mobus
How is it "pro-choice" when the human inside doesn't have a choice?
@LukeJohnson-tw5bo
100% of people who are "pro choice" were never aborted themselves. They were given an opportunity.

Sure, the forced-birthers have heard it approx. a million or so times, but unless if the child has already been born, then IT’S A CLUMP OF CELLS!
but they never understand that she already exercised that right by having sex
Then you wonder why you will never understand.
The concept of ‘The Fear of Male Impregnation’: an entire franchise has been built on it, certainly one of the reasons why a certain media company bought 20th Century Fox. The utter terror just the mere thought of what a Facehugger would do to you, and the More Than Nightmare Fuel of the hideous final consequences of that form of Rape: against men . Bravo Disney, you chose… wisely.
Fact: if men could become pregnant, there would be drop-in abortion facilities in DIY warehouses.
Capisce…?!

What a stupid fucking argument. No shit, people who don’t exist don’t have opinions.
And your focus on ‘opportunity’ is flawed. Sure maybe an aborted fetus would have gone on to be the next Louis Pasteur. Or maybe that child would have been raised in poverty or a broken home by parents who couldn’t afford them or didn’t want them, and become a criminal or a drug addict or maybe they end up committing suicide. Maybe that fetus had abnormalities that would lead to a short, painful existence – or worse, a LONG painful existence full of medical interventions and round the clock care. Maybe the birthing parent would develop PPD and neglect their child or go full PPP and injure/kill them. Maybe one of the parents would be abusive. Maybe the child drowns in a pool at 2 or gets hit by a car at 5 or dies of childhood cancer at 7. You don’t KNOW what somebody’s future would be like and there are as many unhappy stories, if not more, than there are happy ones.
Every child deserves parents that are equipped physically, financially, mentally, and emotionally to take care of them, and the humane solution to make sure that happens is to prevent children who won’t get that chance, whether that’s by contraception or abortion. There is no shame in ending the life of something that was never conscious.
Also, fetus does not mean ‘unborn child’ in the ‘this is a living human baby in miniature’ anti-abortion sense. It is Latin, not Greek, and means ‘offspring/bringing forth young’ in general and originates from Proto-Indo-European roots that refer to suckling milk.

But doesn’t the right-wing fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible say abortion’s murder?

Or the fetus would’ve become…
…a pedophile serial rapist/killer.
…like Donald Trump, if he had become a used car salesman instead of going into real estate.
…the next Lauren Boebert or MTG.
…the next Ed “Plan 9 From Outer Space” Wood.
…the next Josef Fritzl.
…a real-life version of Uncle Ruckus.

As long as it’s women’s problem, yes.
However, if Men got pregnant,
1) You’d get a ticket punched with every abortion
2) first ten punches would earn you a ‘stud finder‘ (a huh-huh-huh)
3) Every tenth punch after that, you could pick a free hand tool from the manly bin.
4) every canceled abortion ticket could be traded in at most sports bars for a round of drinks for your party
6) And your period is an automatic day off
7) Freud would have said women suffer from abortion envy…
"but they never understand that she already exercised that right by having sex.”
Funny how the argument is always about punishing sluts. Never mind that there’s always a risk of deathiness resulting from pregnancy, childbirth. No right to self-defense, you chose to die by the sexytimes.
Never mind that cancer treatments and other medical applications would kill the fetus. She made a choice. One time as Backwards cowgirl, you deserve to die of ovarian cancer.
Never mind if he SWORE he was sterile, or the doctor said she was barren, or if the birth control failed, the choice of sexytime ALWAYS matters, any other efforts do not.
We understand your position, fuckknuckle. We just vehemently disagree with it.
@C
That’s how fundies would interpret it, except for something else that’s so stealthy it’s almost like another franchise: “Predator”. What would that be, o OP?:
Hosea 13:16.
Now for an interpretation of the impact that has on that particular ‘argument’ of theirs: wrist blades, extending spear, contracting net, cutting disc, plasma bolt launcher etc.
Especially when - in “Predator II” - the Yautja didn’t kill Det. Leona Cantrell because it detected the fact that she was pregnant .
Even an alien hunter is more honourable than the Christains’ deity.

Even an alien hunter is more honourable than the Christains’ deity.
Even Khorne, the archetypical “god of evil”(*) and the eponymous “Blood God” is still more honorable than Old Testament YHWH. At least Khorne despises cowardice and punishes followers who try to appease him with the blood of the defenseless. Khorne wants you to EARN your kills. Which is a lot more than what can be said about YHWH killing all the firstborn infants of Egypt (possibly through proxy even) to make a point and demanding Abraham, his most loyal devotee, to sacrifice his own child.
(*)To be fair, IMO Bhaal from D&D and Molag Bal from Elder Scrolls are probably a lot more irredeemable than Khorne is.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
