ADHD and it's counterpart ADD are both invented 'conditions'. Just look at the symptoms, strip away the sugar and medi-babble...and you have at the core what used to be known as being a brat. Once upon a time if you "couldn't" stop wiggling and/or pay attention in school, teacher cracked a ruler across your fat fingers or a paddle across your shiney heiney. S/he and your parents did that and more as often as it took to make you pay attention and remember things.

And when I see sociopaths like that, I consider that they have not gotten nearly enough ass whoopings. I am all for applying their remedies to them.

…I’m Autistic (Aspie, to be precise). I also think I have undiagnosed ADD. And yet, I prefer not to sink to using or calling to violence whenever possible and am utterly disgusted by those who do. So, to me at least, that still makes me a FAR better person than YOU.

And to be clear, yes, I admit I had trouble fitting in at school due to being neurodivergent. I was bullied a LOT by both other children and teachers alike (mostly verbally). Especially before I was diagnosed. Some of those c*nt teachers sadly still live rent-free in my head after all these decades. Some of those assholes called me “stupid” to my face because I simply wasn’t on the same wavelength as them. Others said my bullying was my own fault because I just had to be different. And some screamed at me for being an “intolerant” child because I happened to prefer order on my desk instead of conforming to the chaos of my peers.

But despite that several of the more decent teachers (who I still respect greatly) and even the rest of the faculty actually found me a much more compliant and well-behaved child than the rest of my class tended to be, because I was overall quiet and polite and tidy.

Yeah, can’t be having any new-fangled ideas or research that makes it wrong for me to treat MY kids the way I was treated. I mean, I was beat, and I turned out fine and that’s how my kids’ll turn out and no liberal doctor’s going to make me change my ways or nothing.
