The California legislature continues to take more steps to counter Christianity, and religion in general, with is[sic] recent passage of ACR 99. The resolution — which is a direct affront on the Biblical teachings pertaining to sexuality and the need for men to repent, believe the gospel and follow Christ — blames “religious groups” for the “disproportionately high rates” of suicide among homosexuals and so-called transgenders.

Well the comments on the article certainly are of two forms "we're persecuted" or "blame the victim" a couple of examples:

Nope, the California legislature is just following the rules laid down by the Founding Fathers, about Separation of Church and State. Why do you hate the Founding Fathers?
Well, SOME religious groups are responsible for an enormous amount of persecution and discrimination against homosexuals and “so-called transgenders”. If they don’t want to be blamed for the suicides their persecution leads to, they can just lay off the persecution. Easy-peasy.
Other religious groups are perfectly able to live and let live, to treat homosexuals and “so-called transgenders” like Jesus did when he surrounded himself with vagrants, prostitutes and other “outcasts”.

The resolution starts with a suggestion that religious authority figures approach LGBTQ persons from a position of love and compassion.
No wonder the Faithful are up in arms. They're being told not to hate a group they cherish hating.
