But wait, America turns out not to be the land of hope and opportunity, nor the land of the free or home of the brave. Why? According to right wing shits like this, that's only for white people. Mexican people either must risk their lives and remain in a place where the drug cartels fuck their neighbourhoods up, or be locked in cages... much like Japanese people during WW2.
So, you're okay with torturing children to teach their parents not to commit a "crime" that doesn't really hurt anybody 'cause you need to feel like you need to have law and order at all costs (not to mention fewer brown folks here, right)? Torturing children!? What the fuck is wrong with you?

Yeah here's the thing: NOTHING ABOUT CLAIMING REFUGEE STATUS AT THE BORDER IS ILLEGAL! Trump flatly refusing to process their applications and the actions he's taking to keep them out and punish those who enter actually IS, and evidently he's perfectly right in assuming the people who aren't too stupid to realize that aren't in a position to stop him and the people who are in a position to stop him don't actually care outside of it being a PR talking point.
The ones who made every effort to "know what they're getting into" are following the law as it's been agreed on internationally and were expecting the US to do the same. It's in that regard they didn't actually know what they were getting into because Trump's rhetoric keeps vaguely and falsely implying breaches of the law that weren't happening, empty words acting as a smokescreen. You and your ilk are looking for reasons not to care about that while ironically chanting that "nation of laws" line and ignoring said laws.
You know who also dragged their kids across, not Mexico, but the Atlantic, in search of a new life? The people on the Mayflower; that’s who!

They had even more warnings about what would happen to them if they stayed where they are. Warnings like husbands being shot and killed, children becoming drug-dealers, daughters being raped and killed. That’s why they keep on coming.
