It's not a movie, it's a short. And it's super sweet, too. And what's the fucking problem, just say "yes, boys can marry" and move on with your life.
She came to me and was like daddy can to boys marry?
She's 8 and she doesn't know about gay people? Or that gay marriage is a thing?
They are not family friendly anymore and Iām canceling membership!
It sounds to me that they're being a lot more family friendly than you, who is looking to invalidate quote a few of them.
I have seen the short, itās basically about the trouble of coming out to ones parents with a bit of magical realism. In this case a guy who has a boyfriend he wants to marry still hasnāt come out to his parents and when they show up to help him move he tries his best to hide all evidence of his relationship before them, made more difficult by the fact that his body becomes swapped with that of his dog. In the end it turns out that his parents knew at the very least that he hid something from them and are crushed that he seems to have become more and more isolated from them over time instead of talking to them about it. He finally regains his body and comes out to his parents, who simply reiterate how much they love him and that they feared losing him entirely. The short ends with him finally introducing his boyfriend to his parents. It was very sweet.
I had a difficult childhood, especially because I had no idea what homosexuality even was until I was 15 or so. It caused me to constantly feel as if I was somehow āwrongā and ultimately made me depressed and lonely for a long time. In retrospect a film like this would have helped me a lot, even later on (coming out to my parents wasnāt easy either).
And this fucking asshole here is furious simply because the short depicts an absolutely normal guy, who just so happens to be gay. Nothing even hinting at sexuality (Iām not entirely sure, but I could swear he and his boyfriend donāt even kiss in the short). Heās just furious that there is finally media for children that doesnāt cater to his worldview, that doesnāt try to stereotype homosexuals or puts them into villain roles for the absolutely straight good guy to defeat or simply ignores us entirely, because silencing us, making it appear as if we donāt exist will hopefully uphold hateful stereotypes and make us vanish entirely at some point. There is nothing more to say than that I hope that his daughter will develop into a much less hateful person than he is.
Your Orange God has $100 million in its 'Whore Chest': basically - since Deutsche Bank suspended its single figure-millions account and stopped giving it loans: its only source of raising such since 6/1 & its name/brand becoming ultra-toxic - reduced to grifting its followers, which in turn pay it because that's the only way they can 'Stick it to the Libs'.
"Out" cost far less to make. "Zootopia" cost $150 million but it was Disney's first film to break the billion. "Frozen" cost the same, but that made over $1 billion.
You Trumptards are just jelly that Disney are making more than your 'god'.
Wouldn't be surprised if so many LGBT people donated to Joe Biden's campaign funds; the power of the Pink Dollar.
So there's another way that, in Soviet America, Libs can stick it to you .
ā Iām fucking furious.ā
Why?
ā My daughter thatās only 8 years old happen to stumble upon this crap.ā
People being gay, you mean? How fucking dare you?
āShe came to me and was like daddy can to boys marry?ā
Yeah, they fuckin can, next question but of course you had to have a bloody tantrum like a 3 year old you mentally are. You are a perfect picture of a piece of shit who canāt help himself but to try and shit down all his hatreds down to his kids, your exclusionary, cultish parenting style should be fucking illegal. You have not a smidge of right to be as much, as slightly frustrated, you fucking refuse!
āThey are not family friendly anymore and Iām canceling membership!ā
They happen to be pretty friendly to my family. You can cancel anytime but you wonāt as that would mean no more inside scoop on your outrage.
Maybe if you have that much of a problem with gay people being portrayed in a positive light, you should have taught your daughter your opinions on them, because judging by her reaction, youāve tried to pretend they donāt exist. Iām pretty sure I was aware of gay people when I was 8, and it didnāt scar me for life or anything.
Now if Disney could only put explicitly LGBTQ stuff in their blockbusters instead of hinting it with characters or women smooching in the background (really, they couldāve plonked āFinn/Poeā into Star Wars but were too chicken because they also market to stupid homophobic countries).
Well, theyāre more than happy to have explicitly pro-LGBTQ stuff on a smaller scale with a more local audience so I say itās high time to pop some āStormpilotā into comics and Sequel Trilogy side stories (heck, they never got around to Finn telling Rey he was Force-Sensitive. Iād also love to see Ben resurrected and get together with Rey to start the Order of Skywalkers).
Well, thereās always good fanfiction and the Sequels were written as such as to satisfy all the opposing fan groups. Reylos, Anti-Reylos, Stormpiloters, Finn/Reys, etc. can continue the saga with fan-works so everyone is satisfied.
I wrote two essays on why Ep. 9 shouldnāt be completely trashedā¦

IMO, the problem with Ep. 9 specifically was that Disney tried to please too many people at once after the reception of the previous ones. Of course, as anyone with a brain can tell you, try to please everyone and you end up pleasing no one.
But yeah, Finns āstory arcā was criminally underused in the sequels, I fully agree.
If you want my opinion, the sequels had some good ideas, but ultimatly failed in properly executing almost any of them. I have my own ideas on how they could/should have been made from the beginning. And while I wish I was overflowing with talent to turn them into an epic fanfic, it sadly still wouldnāt be able to salvage the reputationā¦

I just wish they'd have put some effort into creating a new scenario instead of trying to recreate the scenario of the original trilogy. Say what you will about the prequels but they at least tried to give us a new kind of Star Wars environment. I wanted to see a new galaxy in the sequels, and was disappointed.

My thoughts exactly. Itās why I cannot like TFA that much, itās just a blatant carbon-copy/disguised reboot of ANH. Itās not smart, itās just being creativily bankrupt!
And worst of all, it completely ruined the time period after RotJ, making it far more difficult to write decent stories happening in that period.

I know. In a way, overzealous fans ruined Star Wars . Itās so sad because Iāve always enjoyed Star Wars and I like the new characters.
Another problem was not planning a basic rough outline of the new trilogy from start to finish along with introducing all these cool-looking new characters that never live up to their potential.
Why couldnāt they bring back Benicio Del Toroās character? We never even got to know his name! āDJā was merely a placeholder name (it refers to his motto written on his hat, āDonāt Joinā). They should have had him hired by the First Order only to betray THEM in the end. That would have been a great parallel twist thingy!ā¦

ā¦ I loved that guy! He was so cool and quirky and kinda fun. A weird hobo / beatnik / hacker guy whose a ragged bumā¦ but a bum with style!

I still enjoy SW myself, even Disney SW. Clone Wars, Mandalorian, Rebels, Bad Batch, Rogue One, Fallen Order, Squadronsā¦ All great SW works that Disney is responsible for. But the difference is they werenāt shameless cash grabs like the Sequels and were made by people who actually understand SW. And by people who work together to make sure everything stays consistent in the different media.
P.S.: Huh, didnāt know what about DJās name nor his hat. Still, he certainly was a memorable character who Iād like to have seen more of.
Confused?
