From the people who treat it like a breeding contract to which personal feelings are immaterial and the use of coercion and abuse are tolerated for the alleged sake of children that are being raised not as individuals but products to be judged and broken down when found wanting this is pretty meaningless. That or just a big stick you want to hit people with while bragging about the stick and how nobody else can have the stick.

Being nice to each other is the most fundamental part!

I would say a reliable food supply is the most fundamental aspect of society. If people can't eat, they can't live long enough to create any society.

Thing is, marriage exists outside of christian societies. What he calls the institution of marriage is just one version of it, with no demonstrated advantage over the others.

And do you support measures to make families’ lives easier such as maternity leave, housing and education, like the Christian Democrats in Europe?

Divorce rates are 1 in 2 within the ‘Bible Belt’ states of the US.
