Bottom line, if these researchers -- if these (January 6th) protesters had been Black, the likelihood is it would've been worse because the police would've been more reluctant, more hesitant to use force against Black people than white people, as evidenced by studies going back to the 70's. So, Joy Reid is full of it, it perpetuates that notion that the police are out to get Blacks, just because you're Blacks. It is a lie, a flat out lie.

BLM wasn't that long ago, you know, and most of them just block traffic at worst, unlike the capitol occupiers.
When it's BLM the cops roll up IN TANKS! In Kenosha an out of state illegally armed gang presenting itself as a militia invaded and occupied the streets stating clearly their deadly intentions was welcomed by police despite the dozens of laws they were breaking and were exempt from the curfew imposed on the black locals. After Kyle Rittenhouse went on his spree they drove right past him IN TANKS and told him to head on home while they treated everybody else as the threat that needed containment.
BLM would have been reduced to salsa before setting foot on the property, that was certainly the explicit instruction Trump gave the veritable human wall of heavily armed police and paramilitary he put together when BLM showed up to protest months previously. And despite the most serious charges there being blocking trafficthat had far more arrests! Not to mention far fewer police put in hospital. But when it's "real" Americans for whom rights are sacred and would explode at the indignity of being told they have to stay inside or had to justify what business they have in a public place instead you've got crocodile tears for the likes of Ashli Babbitt who even as the only terrorist subjected to deadly force got off six bullets lighter than a black man at a routine traffic stop.
Babbitt is allowed to be remembered for her military service, to be remembered as part of a family, to be mourned as a human and have stories shared freely of any point in her life before she met her end rather than than have any mention of her existence as anything but a violent thug put down as a result of her own criminal choices swiftly rebuked. In life, in death, and in the world continuing beyond she's afforded far more dignity than even a man gunned down by mistake like Emantic Bradford.
Yeah. Well, by Dalek Chauvinist being roasted in the ultimate crucible of facts that is the US court system: because he was caught by Smartphones murdering George Floyd, thus in Soviet America Big Brother is watched by you , you're full of something, Lazza.
This post doesn't match with reality if the January first protesters were black or minorities in general, the police would have been more likely to fight back not less likely. There would have been far more dead protesters. There would have been no rioters running wild in offices because they would have never made it that far.
The police held back because the rioters were white.
Another black man was shot and killed by police in a north Minneapolis suburb last night, as the third week of the Chauvin trial starts. Given the number of black men that have been killed by police around here, you need to re-examine your statistics. We’d rather not have another series of riots here, but I won’t be surprised if it happens.
On 1968, after the death of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, the following happened near Congress:

More details are available here and the contemporary Army Troops in Capital as Negroes Riot .
In this scathing article about Trumpism (the article containing the part), the author Andrew R. Moxon listed some unequal instances of policing, where non-Whites got shot ‘an antustic man got shot while his nurse was trying to calm him) while violent militias occuped Federal property for nearly 20 years without the question of seizing their funds ever occured.
Do you think the Nation of Islam driver would have been shot had he been White? Do you think the NoI could have managed to invade and ransack Congress under the eyes of the police?
Compare the BLM protests from last year to the Capitol riot. Plus there are years of evidence of cop brutality.

Oh come on. No one thought that was normal except the militias and apparently the police. Remember the outcry about it?
@Chloe #84937
The outcry and the nature of what caused the outcry repeating themselves despite the outcry are your normal. I remember saying in another post after the Kenosha shooting I wholly expected something just as blatant to eclipse it. Sure enough the Capitol Insurrection and stark comparison to how BLM gets treated has overshadowed Kenosha. I fully expect something new in the near future and for the same outcry to be met with the same unbelievable denial a problem exists as though the conversation were fresh rather than ongoing with nothing being resolved.
Just like how despite multiple admissions to the abuses of the past we here in Canada still treat our Native population by and large like we're abusive caretakers grudgingly housing a hated relative's abandoned children we view as inherently problematic burdens and the thought they should have say over their own affairs quaint while still painting them as wholly responsible for their lot in life.
I wasn’t going to say much, because our police here don’t exactly have a great record with our blacks, also when they’re in custody. However, to what you say, I would say, not so but far otherwise.
Confused?
