Personally, I don't think heterosex is natural or normal.

I think it's a fluke that has its origins in cellular parasitism and it's survived to this day because evolution is not goal-oriented. The vast majority of living things reproduce asexually. BUT, within this aberrant system of sexual reproduction, it's clear that to optimize chances of fitness and reproductive success, the party with the higher reproductive burden--the female--should be the one to choose her mate.

But the male is a parasite. He does not care about the fitness of the future generations. He cares about injecting his material into a host so that the host can produce more of his offspring. Heterosex is almost indistinguishable to me from how viruses operate. So the male overpowers women, coerces them, buys them, rapes them, because he has no regard for the outcome. Parasites never do. Viruses never do.

The result is that both male and female offspring suffer as a result of this, but to different extents. Males are uglier than women not because they are the only ones to suffer from their forefathers' rapist tendencies, but because XY is a genetic fluke that robs men of having a second, healthy, complete chromosome that has healthier, more robust genes. This directly translates into how they look. All males have a rotten, dissolving, incomplete, fucked-up chromosome in every single cell of their bodies other than red blood cells and it shows. While women get lots of healthy recombination of BOTH of our parents' genes, the male can't inherit a Y from his mother. So, he literally gets the complete Y chromosome wholesale from his dad, with whatever mutations happened to form along the way. This means, if the ugly is coming from the Y chromosome (which it is), he's stuck with it and no amount of sexual reproduction can ever free him from it. Whereas every female gets a healthy, complete backup chromosome with lots of interesting diversity coming from how they can recombine with each other.
