There doesn't have to be. The original Nazis never won a majority.

There just needs to be a sizable minority bent on seizing power, an opposition too weak to stop them (in physical or legal power) - and a remaining majority that's clueless or apathetic.

I think that's exactly what we saw yesterday.

I expect an open Nazi march at the inauguration.

Actually, we’re referring to Thanos from Avengers Endgame.

Fun fact, the Trumpists in their eternal stupidity have once compared Trump to Thanos as if it was a good thing. Namely photoshopping Trump’s face on Thanos just as he said “I’m inevitable”. Which may sound cool at first glance, except that was the very moment Thanos’ plans FAILED as he was about to commit genocide and was stopped and killed immediatly afterwards.
