Marvel and DC have always been PC, always been liberal. In the seventies after Watergate Marvel had this story where the president ended up being a terrorist and Captain America became disillusioned and became Nomad.
Not to mention that legacy heroes with the later version of the hero being a minority or a woman? Also something DC and Marvel have done for decades. It's not new.
Now I have no problem with a character being LGBT, it depends on if it makes sense. The Iceman twist sucked. Having Jean Gray turn Bobby gay was a horrible way to go and as anti PC/SJW as you can get.
No Hercules and Wolverine are not a couple. You made that up. Marvel's Hercules is a sex fiend who normally has sex with women but it has been hinted at that he's had sex with men on occasion. That's actually in line with the Greek myth.
