On a recent episode of the Roseanne Barr Podcast, bestselling author Jonathan Cahn delivered an urgent warning about the unseen forces shaping America’s future. Cahn framed the recent attempt on Charlie Kirk’s life, and even the attempt on President Donald Trump, as part of a cosmic conflict rooted in ancient pagan powers described in Scripture.
<...>
Cahn explained that when a nation turns away from God it creates a spiritual vacuum that allows ancient demonic powers to return. “What happened is when Jesus spread forth the gospel … it drove out the gods … but any nation or culture if it once knew God and empties itself of God, what was cast out is going to come back in,” he warned.

He identified three principal forces, the “Dark Trinity”:

Baal – “This is the spirit that replaces God with paganism. His sign was the bull … with polytheism you don’t have one truth. Everybody has their own truth.”

Ishtar (Ashtoreth) – “She’s the goddess of sexual immorality … she sexualizes the culture, sexualizes children. The Greeks called her ‘porn’ — pornography comes from this goddess … she said, ‘I am a woman, I am a man’ … one of her signs was the rainbow … the month that she especially possessed the culture was the month of June or pride month.”

Molech – “Which is [to] offer up your children. That’s what’s happening.”
<...>
Cahn argued the recent attempt on President Trump’s life echoed the Torah’s ritual for consecrating priests, which involved the application of blood and removal of shoes.
<...>
He then drew a direct line to what unfolded at the rally:

The bullet striking Trump’s right ear mirrors the Torah’s requirement that the blood touch the right ear of the one being consecrated.

Trump’s instinctive act of raising his right hand to the wound reflects the ritual where the blood next touches the right hand.

Trump being knocked down and losing his shoes parallels the consecration step requiring the shoes to be removed for the anointing to be complete.

As Rosh Hashanah 5786 approaches, believers are entering a season rich with prophetic meaning. The feast of trumpets is not merely a ritual on the biblical calendar but a divine appointment calling the church to awaken, to unite and to align with God’s covenant purposes.

Rabbi Kurt Landry of House of David ministries believes this year marks a pivotal shift. “I had prophesied at Gloria Zion at House of David, that the biblical year 5786, the 6, the number of man, that it would be the release of the one new man or in Hebrew, one new humanity reformation,” Landry said.

This “one new man” vision points to Jew and Gentile becoming one in Messiah, echoing the reforming power of Martin Luther’s challenge to the church but centered on unity in Christ. “The revelation that’s coming in biblical year 5786 is the power of the one new man,” he said.

Landry connected this prophetic word to the surge of hostility against Israel. “Look at the rise in the last 24 months of anti-Semitism in not just in Europe but in the United States,” he noted. He warned that Satan is using deception to sever Christians from God’s blessing. “Satan is trying to separate the church from his Genesis 12:3 blessing. If you’re blessing Israel, you’ll be blessed. If you’re cursing Israel, you’ll be cursed.”
<...>
Landry described this Rosh Hashanah as “the most important one that I’ve ever been a part of in my life.” The trumpet blast, he explained, is more than tradition. “We believe biblically and in the Hebrew culture this is the sound of this is the voice of God. This shofar blast is going to bring Jew and Gentile, one new humanity together.”
<...>
This feast of trumpets is a call to stand united, bless Israel and prepare for the return of the Lord. Now is the time for discernment, commitment and focus on what God is doing in the earth.

We live in a world where the life of Jesus is repeatedly mocked time after time.

According to CBR, a teaser trailer recently released for Nicolas Cage’s new horror film that depicts the life of Jesus in a terrifying way. The movie, “The Carpenter’s Son,” is set to release later this year.

The film is reportedly “inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, which purportedly charts the childhood of Jesus Christ,” as CBR explains. Cage, who plays a man known as the Carpenter, has set out to protect his family while hiding in Egypt. However, the description of “the Boy” depicts Jesus as a “….rebellious young son…After being drive to doubt his parents’ teachings by another child, the Boy begins using his preternatural abilities in ways that have horrifying consequences of both the natural and divine…”

This description points straight to blasphemy.

Jesus, who lived the perfect, sinless life and self-sacrificially gave His life on the cross for the sake of the world is being portrayed in some of the most degrading ways possible through this kind of media depiction. It’s a reminder that as believers, we must be discerning about the media we allow into our hearts and minds. Hollywood and much of the entertainment industry have no hesitation in mocking, twisting, and degrading the name of Jesus for profit or shock value.

Even though the world may continue to mock Jesus, we do not have to participate. Instead, we are called to shine as lights in a very dark world, offering the truth, love, and hope of the real Jesus to a culture searching for answers in all the wrong places. The cross was not a horror story—it was the greatest act of love in history. And while Hollywood may try to rewrite His story, we must stand firm, proclaim the truth and live in such a way that the light of Christ cannot be ignored.

Jonathan Cahn is warning that the greatest threat to Western civilization is not paganism, but post-Christian culture.

In an interview with Larry Ragland part of Media Day 2025 presented by Charisma Media, Cahn explained that: “Pre-Christian, okay, that’s pagan. That’s the guy who was possessed by one spirit. Post-Christian is the guy who’s possessed by eight spirits. Pre-Christian, you got Nero. Post-Christian, you get Hitler. You get the Antichrist.”
<...>
Drawing from the Bible and ancient civilizations, he notes that when Israel turned from God, it repeatedly fell into the worship of specific gods—spirits that continue to operate today. He highlights the goddess Ishtar, who is associated with sexual immorality. As Western culture abandoned God, the sexual revolution emerged, sexuality was secularized, and confusion of gender roles took root—a modern reflection of ancient spiritual influence. “She had a priesthood, men in drag who danced before families,” Cahn says, “bending the sexuality between male and female. That’s exactly what we’re seeing today.

The concept of “avatars” is central to Cahn’s message found in his new book, “The Avatar.” In pagan cultures, gods could manifest in humans. Today, he argues, humans are once again being used as vessels for spiritual forces to manifest, shaping culture, government and current events. He points to historical examples like Cuba, where spirits behind deities—disguised as saints—exerted cultural influence, and he recounts a dramatic mountaintop encounter where God used a shofar to topple the chief god idol of Cuba, sparking revival.
<...>
The warning is clear: America stands at a spiritual crossroads. A culture that once knew God now risks being overtaken by forces long driven out, as tolerance and complacency allow ancient powers to infiltrate every aspect of society. From the arts to politics, from education to leadership, the seeds of post-Christian influence are spreading, reshaping morality, values and truth itself.
