My dad was talking about how somewhere in Arizona and places near it, there were petrified wood deposits that were up to 400 foot deep... he said "I wonder what kind of catastrophe could have caused that?" I said "Maybe it was the flood from the Bible." and then, my dad replied "When did that happen? Wasn't it two thousand years or so ago? Those deposits are millions of years old" I don't know...that's just something that bothers me. Scientists that study the Earth and things in it, they say things are millions of years old and then they "prove" that it is with carbon dating,...or whatever else they may use to study the age of the Earth and the things on it.
Now, honestly; I believe in a young earth...I know my dad believes in God, but obviously he doesn't take certain parts of the Bible as literal truth. Even if the Earth is millions of years old...that doesn't disprove God. It's just something that I think about...how would you explain petrified wood?

You're not alone, Ron. I'm in their crosshairs as well, but I didn't bother to read their comments. No need to. I hear it everyday from co-workers and other non-believers. They all say the same thing. In fact, when I googled my screen name, it showed up on another site: systemwars.com. I went to their site and it's the same kind of forum as the other one. Let them say what they want about me. Jesus said this would happen. I'd rather be hated for following the Lord than be loved by the world. Been there and done that.
It doesn't stop me from praying for them, though. I used to be where they're at ~ mocking Christians and saying nasty things about them to their face and behind their backs. I know I hurt them deeply, but they still prayed for me. I've become what I used to mock. Unfortunately, a couple of the Christians that I was terrible to passed away before I could apologize to them. I will thank them when I see them again.
I have no intention of leaving this board until "they" shut it down, come to take me away or I'm raptured, whichever occurs first.
Since we know that posters from these places visit us, I would like to personally extend an invitation to all of of them to open themselves to receive Jesus as their personal Savior. I was a terrible person, but if He can save someone like me, He can save anyone. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Homeschooling is dangerous to the powers behind the politicians because the home schooled youthful minds are not available to be brainwashed. My kids go to public school but I've also done a lot of teaching at home with them. They are prepared at home not to accept everything they're taught in school as truth. From my girl's reactions to the "health" class curriculum in jr high and high school, that is one place where the powers do significant brainwashing.

We don't have to wait for Obama to become president. We are already being monitored, and blasted, by some whackos. Just do what I did and google my screen name and follow some of the links. Then have some more fun and google your own screen names and follow those links. The more unique your screen name is the more hits you will get on it. For instance I use just plain yogi for a screen name on a couple of other boards and that screen name is too popular to get any real results for myself.

The fact is, evolution requres an increase in genetic information. There is no example in existance of genetic information EVER increasing.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying speculative fiction as long as you know it is fiction and treat it as such. So what I am trying to say is that it is not the story that is wrong so much as it is the person who is unable to discern that it is fiction.
The discovery channel recently ran a program on the "Vrill". Actually, God does not okay divorce for adultery, or anything else for that matter. Moses set up that law for divorce. Anyone in an abusive relationship needs to get out of it, by separation, not divorce. Let the abuser file for divorce, and your conscience will be clear before God. The funny thing about this is that I've heard of lots of "married" gay couples getting divorced and having custody battles over any children (by artificial insemination or adoption) involved in the "marriage." Another reason not to allow gay couples to adopt children, or have children by artificial insemination, for that matter. I recently had a conversation with my 3 girls, 12, 12, and 14 about the rapture. They indicated they are saved but of course, I cant be absolutely certain. Anyways, I told them that if by chance they are here when all the christians disappear, to understand what has happened, etc. Then it dawned on me: They will see people still here who have or are professing Christians and that it will confuse them and make them doubt the rapture. I was stumped at this point. Then one of them said: mom, if you disappear and we are still here, THEN we'll know the rapture has happened! Wild thought huh?
I wanted them to know, on the outside chance they are still here, what has happened and what to do. But it is clear, and some of you may want to let others know, that it will be confusing when many pews are still filled with "christians" after the rapture happens. Is there a connection? I can't help but notice all the vampire themes lately in the media. Two movies, "Let the Right One In" and "Twilight" are in the movie reviews this week and both have vampire themes. My sister has teen age girls, and she said the hottest books right now among her age group are also vampire themed.
Why is that? Is there some new age connection? Or is it just about introducing more blood and violence to desensitize people? Or is there some sort of end times connection just because it is anti-biblical?

No. The only time God said yes, ok, divorce, is in the case of adultery. But even then, what does God say about others sinning against us? We're supposed to forgive the offender 70 x 7 times. If a person has actually forgiven another person 490 times for something, and you really consider what Jesus did on the cross, then our forgiveness of others has only just barely scratched the surface of what Jesus did.
If you think about it, banning divorce isn't at all against God's revealed will for us in the Bible. God's plan is one man for one woman, till death do they part, regardless of the details between marriage and death. In his graciousness to us, he has provided an out via adultery, should we choose to take it; however, even that isn't what he really desires for us.
The atheists that I've met have a lot of hate....starting first with self-hate and it snow balls from there.

Demons understand the electromagnetic spectrum in much greater depth then we do.

So with that power they can change into the likeness of what we think aliens look like
and give visions of being on a space ship and since they can possess non-believers they
can make part of thier spirit look like a syringe or any other item and enter the victims
causing them intense pain and the like. They have been around since the beginning of
man so they know great detail about men's past lives. This explains past life experiences
and a whole multitude of things that people believe in and take as a fact because of
what demons can do.

My g.daughter is 15 and just announced recently that she is gay..We love her no matter what but can't condone this life style because it is against our conservative values and I believe what the Bible says literally.. She is living with her Dad who isn't a good role model and has accepted her lifestyle along with her other Grandmother, Grandfather and Uncle (who is a Lutheren preacher) they are all ok with this... Her Mother and Dad have been divorced several years and her Mom wasn't a good role model either.. Mom has changed her life now for the better and wanted her to come live with her but she said she would not change !! She would not give up her "friends" and Mom would have to "get over it" .. Mom told her she wouldn't tolerate this and they have had a huge argument about it.. my question is.. what do we say/do to this 15 year old?? She is so defensive that it is difficult to talk to her.. doesn't want to be around any of her "conservative" relatives even for Thanksgiving.. I told her on the phone that I love her no matter what but I belive what she is doing is wrong.. I have pointed out things in the Bible that show it being wrong.. It is rampant in the schools now and on T.V.. Are any of you dealing with this.. It is so sad and tearing so many families up.. Thanks..

My heart is so weary from the endless mockery of Jesus. Hunky Jesus contest, the Last Supper, gays yelling that Jesus was gay in churches, this ~ Willie Nelson actually singing a song to Jesus Christ who died for his sins, and Willie's response is 'here, smoke some pot'. It honestly hurts my heart. Here lately, it actually seems as if I can hear the earth groaning for His return...to put an end to sin. The days just seem to keep getting darker.

when my son was a baby, he would look at a picture of Jesus and his face would like up like he knew exactly who Jesus was. Honestly, that was one thing that really strengthened my faith knowing that my baby as little as he was knew who God was.
Yesterday when we were at Walmart Dakota was playing with the nativity figuers on the shelf. So I started to tell him about the birth of Jesus and how God loved us so much He sent Jesus to us as a little baby. And Dakota said he's here now, when can my see Him. I said if mommy is right soon very soon.
The US Constitution has been undermined and American society/culture in general, demoralized. Gay marraige and abortion will become a federal mandates. Our liberty is eroding at breakneck speed. We are seeing and hearing the shadows of extreme anti-christ fascism that is rising in this nation. The parrallels between the Weimar republic of Germany and America are obvious. Germany murdered 6 million in their holocaust. America has now murdered over 49 million in a holocaust fueled by lust and pornography and a so called "right".
When America reaches 50 million aborted babies we will see God's judgement poured out on this nation. Judgement will fall on this nation for it's national sin of the shedding of innocent blood. God judged Sodom because of the "cries". Can you hear the babies crying out? 50 million are crying out and Jesus Christ hears everyone of them. The blood of 50 million babies are crying out for vengeance. Every Christians faith will be tested and many will faint. This fascism will be more evil than Nazi Germany. Lord Jesus, come quickly!
We don't think the sun rises and sets with Bush and any other President. But this is what we're seeing with the Obama followers. It's eerie how little they know about him and ignore his incredible lack of experience, yet believe that he's going to somehow make everything perfect. Look up sychophant. It describes Obama followers to a T.
He's the most pro-abortion candidate ever. He's a socialist. He has no executive experience. He wants to change the war against jihadists into a police activity. And he's following FDR's failed footsteps economically.
Obama is not going to bring healing to the country. The history of his proposals, which is extensive, shows that his policies will bring pain. Is it wrong to oppose that? We are going to get different results and they aren't going to be good. We'll go from bad to worse.
Only Jesus will bring the type of change that Obama followers are assigning to Obama. It's worship of a human and it's quite unBiblical.

Unrestrained evil will result in a wave of crime. The elderly will be "put to death" becuase there will be no one to care for them or a heart to care for them. Dr. Kevorkian types abounding. There will be a wave of suicides. Robbery and rapes will be common place.
Many people will actually be glad we are gone. They will be unrestrained in their pursuit of pleasure and debauchery. There will be little to nothing restaining thier evil. It will be every man for himself.
I dread to think the new uses for our houses of worship? Just as the Arabs celebrated in the streets at the collapse ot the twin towers in NY; there will likewise be celebrating by our enemies were we once knelt at the alter to receive christ.
Cities will be in crisis. There will be problems with the flow of water and electricity. There will no one to clean the buildings. There will be no one to work in restaurants. There will be no garbage pick up for weeks. There will be shortages of doctors and nurses. Your chiropractor will be gone. The grocery store will be empty. The trucking industry will come to a stand still. Farms will grow quiet. Construction will grind to a hault.
The news media will be busy with excitement and pleasure covering the story of the century. Hollywood folks will be scratching their heads and calling their phychiatrists. San Francisco will be wondering what in the world everyone is upset about. Government officials will be promising bailouts and blaming the former President who has now gone into hiding. Congress will hold hearings and pretend to be smart and caring.
My friends and colleagues left behind will be saying we should have listened to Mark. He was right. They'll say, "God forgive us" "Help us Lord Jesus remain faithful to you until the end"
