I think that children are capable of consenting to sexual contact with adults, and it's actually incredibly harmful to take that right away from them, and a violation of human rights. The normal arguments you hear against it are that the adult is always going to have more power in the relationship so it's inherently abusive, the child isn't ready for sex, developed enough, etc., and that there's too much risk for harm and anyone who isn't traumatized is an exception.
The idea that power dynamics makes a relationship inherently abusive is just outright wrong. Power dynamics only matter if the party with the power exercises it, and laws are an equalizer because they make there be reasons not to exploit power dynamics if empathy and compassion wasn't enough of a reason already. We only extend this idea of power dynamics to sexual situations with children, in all other areas it's actually expected and socially acceptable to exercise power against children (using hierarchy to get them to do what you want, physical punishment as deterrence, lack of consideration for their will, etc.).
Any sort of argument about development and puberty ignores the reason people have sex, people don't have sex just because hormones compelled them to do it, they have it because it's a pleasant and meaningful experience to achieve sexual release and increasingly so if someone you want to be involved is involved to. The idea that children aren't sexual creatures is to say they can't receive pleasure and have positive sexual experiences.
This is probably going to be the meatiest counter-argument that I have. I'll say it bluntly, no scientific evidence that uses unbiased samples (samples that represent the population as a whole) comes to the conclusion that willing sexual participation, or EVEN unwilling, is incredibly traumatic by itself. A study into the most impactful combinations of abuse on a child's happiness, finds that sexual abuse (defined as unwilling) isn't even in the top ten combinations of the most harmful abuse (Ney, Fung, & Wickett, 1994). Countless other studies find that early sexual experiences with adults are incredibly unlikely to cause lasting harm (Rind & Tromovitch, 1997; Rind et Al, 1998; Clancy, 2009) and other studies show that children who are willing participants in sex are statistically identical to the control group when it comes to issues of mental health (Arreola et Al, 2008; Arreola et Al, 2009). There's research that shows that minors who have first time experiences with adults have nearly indistinguishable experiences as minors with peers and adults with adults (Rind & Welter, 2014; Rind & Welter, 2016; Rind, 2017) and a study done of Finnish children that found that children are far more likely to report forced sexual contact than willing because they don't consider the willing sexual contact abuse (Lahtinen, 2018).
I personally see no reason to disallow child from having sexual freedom given all the research (there's more even) and find it immoral to deny them sexual freedom. I hope that having a conversation on a sub about reasonable discussions will bring me some actual solid and impactful evidence/arguments against rather than the usual moralistic squabble and argument avoidance of other places. I want an actual discussion about this and reasons why, in the presence of immense evidence that I believe is contrary, that children shouldn't be allowed to consent to sex, reasons the research is flawed, skewed, biased, or in anyway "junk science", or research that uses non-biased samples (i.e. not samples with a disproportionate amount of clinical patients) and come to the conclusion that sexual contact the child is willingly involved in is going to cause them some kind of lasting harm or problems. Most FTMs I know have been victims of horrible sexual abuse. I think there’s an element of rejecting traits associated with pain and abuse. I think there’s also not fitting in with societal expectations (enjoying STEM, sports, etc) and not living in an environment affirming of those preferences.
I think the way you’ve framed the issue makes it hard to be relatable. I think most TiMs and FiMs have dysphoria making it emotionally difficult to come to terms with physical realities.
For all the things I do not like about TRAs and the toxicity of the movement, I do think these are people who deserve some empathy for going through tough things.

As women, we get defensive, as mothers, daughters, wives. I am married to one, he is cute and non violent, but he isn't overly plagued with intellect. And he knows it. He also knows that I am smarter than he is, but he isn't threatened by it. Maybe that is why he isn't violent, because he knows his limitations. But I am amazed at the reaction from women when I bring this up, it seems like they think that I am betraying men by acknowledging the reality. There was a discussion on here a while back, I don't remember the original topic, but it turned into a discussion between lesbian women and straight women, and about how men should be denied penatrative sex. A few of the hetero women were very clear that they love penatrative sex and would not be giving it up. The lesbian women were annoyed by that, understandably so. We all know that if women, as a class, denied men access to us in that way, a lot of their bullshit would stop immediately. But there are too many of us that are so man identified, and we can't even see it. So it results in women choosing men over women, and they see absolutely no problem with it.
And it's the same with male children. When we give birth to boys, we are creating oppressors. That's just a fact. But mothers of sons will go batshit because they feel like they are being judged and that they are raising super duper, extra special boys that will smash the patriarchy.

Lurking normie here. I think it makes total sense. I think having intimate, meaningful and fulfilling sex can make you feel more complete as a person. It's one of the deepest and most vulnerable acts you can share with someone, and knowing that you understand a person well enough to make them happy in that way and satisfy them goes a long way to feeling accepted and more whole as an individual.
It's quite figuratively one of the foundations of Maslow's heirarchy of needs and is thought to thereby be necessarily met to fulfill higher tier aspirations. That's not to say you cannot move up without one of these foundational needs met, but you are operating less optimally compared to someone who has their physiological house in order.

Yep I’m not usually depressed, i just wouldn’t describe myself as really happy. However, if I go without sex with someone for around a month, I get extremely depressed and it affects many aspects of my life. So yeah, it’s sort of like money, having it is no biggie, but not having it is a huge deal.

Important to note is that while the boys view on the dynamics of sexism was accurate, the girls wasn't. This is something that continues into adulthood as a result of how the inaccurate and gynocentric feminist narrative on sexism is drilled into us. See the study showing women perceive lack of benevolent sexism in their favor as sexism against themselves. In the school study, the girls expect better grades from men than they are given. I would bet if follow ups were done, they would conclude it was because the man was a sexist, when in reality, it is down to female chauvinism and entitlement not being adhered to. Womens in-group bias is high, and because men are not biased in womens favor too, they perceive that as hostile and unfair. I'd personally argue that high in-group bias is due to feminism and its chauvinistic impacts on our culture and how we view the sexes, women MRAs and those sympathetic to the cause who take the time to critically analyze the ideas they were indoctrinated with and reject them, tend to avoid it.

It's also worth considering whether a profession that is full of women we can empirically and measurably show to be misandrous and sexist, might itself have impacts on the number of men willing to be their co-workers, an argument feminists usually assert based on anecdotes that don't align with data (See STEM and hiring bias in favor of women), but in this case might be more apt and based in verifiable facts about the prevalence of sexism in the people who work in the field.

I had this experience in university as well, particularly in the humanities. Female professors graded me more harshly when first meeting me. Then I would lie and let them know I was trans, and my marks would suddenly improve significantly. Male teachers would generally mark me better initially, and little to no change happened if I lied and told them I was trans.
The only time this pattern didn't seem to hold was with openly feminist male professors. They seemed to follow the female professor model.
Obviously this is just anecdotal, but it was noticeable.

That's one of the arguments I always make. If person A and B are training for a marathon, and they run the same training runs, only you've burdened person B with 5 lb ankle weights, who do you think is going to run a faster marathon? Which is why most of the "institutionalized discrimination" claims I come across seem wrong. If one group of people is discriminated against, they have a more selective filter than everyone else. That should mean that the ones who make it through tend to be better at whatever it is. But the only cases where we really see that are with Asians in academics and men in many fields.

This is true at all levels of school, too. I experienced it during my own college career in the 80's - men didn't care for women teachers and there was an noticeable bias in how they interacted with and graded females in their class.
I watched my son experience the same thing all through elementary, high school, and college.
Add in lack of recess to burn off boy's energy, lack of discipline in class, lack of positive male role models within school, and you have a recipe for failure. It's almost as if it's purposely designed to have boys fail.

Same here. My sons went through the whole thing. So far as one elementary school teacher slipping up during the back to school night. All the students there with their parents, she said to everyone, “I love my girls.” Followed by a ton of glares from the parents of the boys. She stammered, never correcting anything and just continued on.

For the exact reason I do homeschooling and promote it for kids, specifically for boys. The entire primary and secondary education is run by women. These female instructors just like how a mother's response to a boy's playful and creative expression as trouble making, a female teacher will interpret and deliver discipline for the same thing. Fortunately at home, there might be balance when both parents are present, but at school where a child spends most of their life, the balance is nonexistent. On top of boys not mentally ready for school at an early age, boys are further disenfranchised and misrepresented in institutions.
I promote homeschool for boys for these reason because the education system is failing boys. Do Not allow your child, nephews, and cousins to fall prey to this.
