(on the anti-lockdown protesters, who have carried weapons, signs saying things like “sacrifice the weak”, and so on)
This is basically the next Tea Party: a protest by people with legitimate grievances against government being hijacked and co-opted by rich right-wingers to support policies that are against the best interests of the protesters.

Uh, what's the issue here? I mean it's pretty clear that's what's going on with these protest with started out as desperate people wanting something to be done to help their situation only to be overtaken by both selfish assholes and the far-right
Now I’m not arguing that later protest isn’t just far-right ops but that’s doesn’t excuse the very real fears people in this nation (the United States) has over paying their bills or their jobs being lost as theirs’ at least 24.9 or so percent of the entire US that’s now unemployed, possibly more and so far, all the government’s response to this crisis is bailing out big corporations and NOT doing a rent freeze and the like until this pandemic and crisis is over. All we’ve gotten is a ONE TIME check of 1200 dollars, which isn’t enough to support people for the duration of this crisis which could go on for months. We’re not giving people 2000 dollars a month for much of this crisis like Canada is doing, or a rent freeze like a lot of other nations affected are doing, we’re just giving money to the rich ’cause apparently that’s going to help things… We have to show some level of understanding when people say that they can’t just stay under lockdown indefinite, as theirs’ a very real possibility of losing their homes because they’ve lost their jobs because of this pandemic and quite literally need to go out there and work to keep a roof over their heads. But that only goes so far when someone just wants this lockdown lifted for very selfish reasons then one can mock them.
There’s more to this then what most people on this site and elsewhere assume and we have to remember that.
It started as a bunch of coddled assholes whining because they've never known true deprivation or oppression, and so think doing without a haircut is the Worst Thing Evar. But now it's turned into a series of rallies for out-and-out white supremacists who want to destroy society, because they think that will let them stage a violet takeover and set up their own fascist regime.
The protests started out as ridiculous Y’all Qaeda types congregating and hoisting around their weapons and trying to force the states to reopen. There WAS no good intentions to start with - the whole thing was always as it is now. The first ones that appeared were signal boosted by Trump.
The first major protest against the lockdown was in Michigan. The people who went to that lockdown were provided matching t-shirts and signs from rich Republican-backed groups, especially Betsy Devos’ groups. So the statement is a fact; it was a bunch of yahoos getting angry they couldn’t do all the things they wanted to do, but the combination of the protests PLUS the signal boosting? It’s exactly what happened with the Tea Party.
This is basically the next Tea Party: a protest by people with made-up grievances against government being hijacked and co-opted by rich right-wingers to support policies that are against the best interests of the protesters.
Fixed it.
