In an interview with SpectatorTV’s Freddy Gray, Errol Musk — father of Trump ally Elon Musk — appeared to defend unequal farmland ownership[…]
Gray asked Musk about the “economic injustice” of most of South Africa’s commercial farmland being owned by the country’s white minority. This of course stems from discriminatory policies, such as the 1913 Native Land Act[…]
Musk countered that around 40% of arable land in South Africa “belongs to the state,” which can “give that land to Black people to farm.” But he claimed that “Black people are not inclined” to do so, because it’s “just not in their nature to do” the kind of “intensive farming” that South Africa relies on

Musk also boasted that the Black population[…]increased between 1910 and 2010, which, he said, meant that “the Black population really flourished under those circumstances.” He added that there’s “no question” that “if you remove the white farmers from South Africa, then starvation will follow”

When Gray pointed out that Musk’s response made no mention of the country’s racist apartheid system, Musk responded by claiming that “in the apartheid times, each Black group was given the land that was traditional to them to use”[…]
“The whole of Zululand was in the hands of the Blacks,” Musk said. “The whole of the Transkei, which is where the Xhosas originally lived, was given to them. The whole of the area … north of Pretoria was given to the Tswana. And, so — and then, of course all the Khoi lands along the coast here in — along the coast here where the Khoi had lived was — is Khoi land”

Musk’s mention of Transkei is striking, as this was one of South Africa’s many Bantustans[…]
“So it wasn’t as though there was no land given to them,” he said. “They didn’t work the land that they were given[…]They migrated onto the areas where the white people were farming for jobs. They didn’t work their own land. They didn’t try and farm their own land”
