I assume Richard does not agree with the efforts of those people? Can’t really tell from this quote.

If the world human population back then included the same percentage of trans and non-binary people as the world human population today, how likely is it that any ancient skull’s owner was trans or non-binary?

…Wut? I- I don’t get it. What is this actually trying to say?

I know the Dunning-Kruger Effect is essentially being too dumb to know you're dumb (overestimating your competence), but there also needs to be a term for believing expertise in one field makes you an expert in every field. Can we call that the Dawkins Effect?

So anthropologists and archeologists don’t just look at the physical remains to assign a sex to an ancient skeleton. They also analyze grave goods or if the person was laid to rest in a manner associated with a particular sex or not.

Also Dawkins is basing this on the assumption that trans is a new thing. Except we know from oral and written traditions that cultures around the world have accepted third genders or knew the line was fuzzier than what Dawkins thinks.
