I wish our cities were covered in this kind of scribbling. People are starting to wake up, but not as many as we need in order to create a critical mass. We're one big distraction event away from dragging the sheeple back into blind submission.

The fact is, wearing a mask is not slavery.

Can I be gay wearing a mask? Sure can.

Can I have any job I want, while wearing a mask? Well, any job except 'food critic'.

Can I sit on my ass all day and stay home? Sure can. Don't even need a mask on to do that.

Can I go into any store I want while wearing a mask? Sure can!

Can I dress up as a wizard, complete with staff, while wearing a mask? Definitely.

If I can be a gay unemployed wizard while wearing a mask, it doesn't feel much like slavery to me?

It just feels like being a responsible person, to me. If being responsible is "slavery" to you, well, maybe we finally found an ethical context for slavery then! Good on you!

I don't take medical advice from graffiti.

What I've never seen explained is exactly how wearing a piece of cloth is supposed to "confisticate mah freedumbs" anyway. It's enforced compliance! OK, great ... you got people to wear a mask. How does this serve any purpose but the epidemiological one? How does this further any effort at social control - even if it was a tactic to accustom people to obedience, wouldn't a visible symbol make that effort *more* obvious?

Kinda the point I'm trying to make. Like, I'm a gay wizard (though fully employed at this time).

Some things I realize I need to be obedient about. I need to obediently not murder people. I need to obediently not shit on the floor in a restaurant. I need to obediently put my shopping cart away in the corral. I need to obediently not piss in the punch bowl at parties. I need to obediently wear a mask in public.

None of these things is slavery.

People can't even be bothered to do that anymore. At my store people leave dozens of shopping carts in the handicapped stalls every day. They also take the electric carts which are explicitly marked to not use outdoors, out to their vehicle and 95% of those that do never return them indoors. I'm surprised they are still functioning with all of the snowstorms they have been abandoned in over the past two months.

Eta: A few of them can't even do the "not shitting on the floor" thing. In a freaking grocery store.

I’ve had a few conversations with fundies that go something like this:

Anti-masker: “you do what the government tells you to do. Why don’t you think for yourself and stop wearing a mask?”

Me: “I don’t just do what the government tells me, I do what I think is right based on the facts at hand.”

AM: “you need to think for yourself and stop wearing it”

Me: “aha! So if I base my actions and opinions on things like science, I’m just doing what the government says and not thinking for myself. But if I just do something because you’re ordering me to do it, that’s thinking for myself?”

AM: silence

Very occasionally instead of silence, I’ll get an “I see what you mean...” and then they actually go think about their behavior. But this has only happened a very few times.

Me: “aha! So if I base my actions and opinions on things like science, I’m just doing what the government says and not thinking for myself. But if I just do something because you’re ordering me to do it, that’s thinking for myself?”
AM: silence

Not anti-masker: “Let me see if I got this right…you’re saying that basing one’s actions and opinions on things like science is just doing what the government says and not thinking for oneself. But doing something because you’re ordering it, that’s thinking for oneself?”

Anti-masker 1: “NOW you’re starting to get it!!”

Anti-masker 2: “Oh, it’s always so rewarding to see someone come around to thinking for themselves!!”

Don’t you think the more intelligent sectors of the population doesn’t care about making graffitis to publish truth?

1- Laws deny you of your right to your so-called 'Wish'; graffiti is illegal too

2- The vast majority of people - by following one part of the simple triple protocol - are pissing you off. Good

3- Over 400,000 families: and in the US alone, never mind here in Britain, would like a word with you

5- A shop in my locale - for the first lockdown - commissioned an artist to paint on their shutters in a graffiti style an image of a warrior throwing red crosses a la shuriken at Coronaviruses. PROTIP: Ninja wear face coverings.

The streets of Hull City Centre - with the exception of a few people going to the fewer open shops for essentials - are empty. Thus people are following HM Government's rules.

Yeah sometimes that happens too. I’m sure it actually happens most times, it’s just they’ve learned at that point I’m not going to listen to them. Usually by the time I’m having that conversation, I am spitting mad.

Yeah, things like that are why I’m glad I haven’t had a job in a store or restaurant for a while. Actually, it was only one particular restaurant I worked at where the people were that bad in the bathroom. Hell if I know why, though, I never could figure that one out. I worked at a hospital for a while and didn’t have to deal with stuff like that there.

Eta: The shitting incidents I mentioned didn't necessarily occur in the bathroom.
