And why should we care what you think about motives we don’t have and what it would net us in your little fantasy world with no relation to the one we live in? Actually scratch that. Whatever answer you could possibly give I just don’t care. Nobody does. And that’s what pisses you off most isn’t it? That you’re beneath notice for most people. That you simply don’t matter. That you’re not being snubbed, but rather that you’re so completely banal your existence barely registers and all the things you think you’re supposed to do in life don’t just work themselves out because you put in the effort of simply continuing to breathe. That there’s no cosmic forces arrayed against you, no grand conspiracy to make your life horrible, no masses having a laugh at your expense, barely even anyone who knows you exist and the ones that do lose whatever empathy or morbid curiosity drew their attention as you demonstrate what it is and has always been that makes you “incel” and spew forth nonsense or else poorly imitate social behaviours with no understanding of them convinced everyone else is constantly lying about everything for no real real reason just as a matter of course; as completely emotionally devoid and uncomprehending of “empty gestures” as you are and focused solely on an endgame you think you’ve puzzled out no matter how often you’re told different remaining completely oblivious to the poor reception of your attempts at imitation and subterfuge. And you think you’re clever when you do it, that whoever you’re putting on the show for is supposed to have predetermined responses to shallow phrases and stimuli and that they couldn’t possibly be picking up on how much contempt you have for them legitimately thinking of them not as human beings but programs to game. And once you’ve driven them off with insincerity, poorly hidden antipathy, utter indifference to their lives and anything in the conversation that doesn’t get you closer to your very narrow goals, and ultimately your resulting petulance and aimless malice once your rubber-mask impersonation of a “nice guy” only succeeds in making them wary you’re back to being beneath notice. And so you retreat into these messed up fantasies where you’re the focal point of everyone’s lives because everyone and their dog has it in for you because it makes you feel like you have some kind of relevance to the world. And the distance between you in this screwed up fantasy world and the real world with actual people in it just keeps growing until what you say and do has absolutely no connection to reality and you might as well be piloting a robot by remote with no video or audio input.

Honestly just the few minutes it takes to type this is more of my attention than you deserve. My time is better spent doing things for my personal growth. Having conversations with people who aren’t in their own impenetrable world, making memories I’ll treasure, developing greater skills both technical to facilitate my employment and social that can help me navigate life, make friends, and figure my way around the occasional jerk. Or hell, just chilling with a videogame or curling up with a decent book. Baking a pie. Untangling my family issues. Volunteering at shelters. Stuff that makes me feel good about what I’ve done.

Oh, really? To actually know this, you'd have to have some way of comparing their online activities with their 3D lives. I really doubt that you have that much access to that many people.

I find it very easy to believe, though, that an incel just projects what he wishes reality were. Post after post of self-serving fictions and revenge fantasies have shown that the reality incels live in isn't even tangential to the world outside.

Little boy, I’m genderqueer AMAB but often pass for a typical cis-male. I’ve always been poor, so I don’t have money. I’m average-looking or slightly below-average. I’m missing one of my front teeth due to an accident. I’m currently out of shape. I’m white. I’m almost 40. I have anxiety, depression, PTSD, and apparently am on the autism spectrum.

I’m also polyamorous, have only once gone more than a couple of months without a partner since I started dating at the age of 16, and my average relationship length is measured in years. Most of my partners have been WAAAY more attractive than me, and I’ve never once been seen as the “bad boy” or acted like a bigot. I’ve never had any woman string me along for any kind of support while she slept with other guys instead of me. I’ve even had a short but busy career as a professional BDSM worker.

According to the delusional incel conspiracy theories (and yes, that’s all they are), I’m literally a mythological creature. But here I am, currently with a steady relationship and a satisfying love life, despite not being a fictional “Chad.”
