Greta’s is one of the richest, safest, most stable countries in the world. We’ve had waves of immigrants coming to enrich our country for centuries. The Dutch, the French, the Germans, the English. Then (around 1900), we were the poor needing refuge, and about a million of us emigrated to the US within a decade or two. Then came the Americans, and the Germans again. Later the Italians, the Poles, the Greeks, the former Yugoslavs, Iraqis, Iranians and Vietnamese. Syrians, Somalians, Afghanis, etc. All have, in time, integrated and become Swedes, giving something of their own culture, and taking on board quite a lot of ours.
Now, funnily enough, some of the most fervent xenophobes in Sweden are former refugees, who came her as children 20 years ago or so, and they don’t like it one iota when OTHERS are now doing the same thing as THEY did before them.

Greta is sixteen, almost seventeen. She’s too old to play with dolls and too young to be a wife and mother.
Her mother is an opera singer, admired and often enlisted by the Swedish court. She has probably sung in more ancient, beautiful churches than you ever been in.
How is it hatred to want a livable planet for her generation, and the generations to come? The hatred lies in blatantly wanting to deny them that.
The most pathetic brat here is you, Vicky. She has ever right to stare down the Orange Clown, the most destructive and perhaps the stupidest president the US has ever had. Have YOU never stared down #44, a truly great and beloved president?
Greta’s parents seem very caring and supportive, and fight for equality and human rights.
Swedish women don’t “prepare to be wives and mothers”, any more than boys prepare to be husbands and fathers. Getting married is something you might do when you have a couple of kids and start thinking about inheritance, or you want a great 10-year-aniversary party. Most men and women here work full-time, and the kids are educated in day-care.
She is indeed sad, that most adults today put their heads in the sand and ignore the threats to the survival of our species.
She’s an environmentalist, not a communist. Few people here are communists nowadays.
